Poll: What do you use spanking for?

Hello everyone! I've been wondering this for a while so I figured I'd post it. I apologize if it's already on here somewhere... I looked and could not find it.

FIRST I'd like to say that this is for consensual relationships between adults only, nothing to do with children.

What do YOU use spanking for? I mean, there are so many uses and so many people use it in different ways. I am curious.

For me, at this point in my life I mainly use it for discipline and stress relief. For reasons I won't delve into unless asked, I've temporarily lost my sex drive due to two years of a certain medication... so I have no reason to have a sexual spanking. Every now and then I enjoy a fun, loving spanking... but not one that is sexual. One day I will get that drive back... just don't have it at this point.

(I am a switch, by the way. So this goes both ways =P.)

Personally, when I am stressed out or frustrated, or even depressed... sometimes what helps more than anything is a good, OTK spanking from someone who cares enough to do so. Normally I need to be brought to tears to get the stress relief I need. And I know that when someone comes to ME for this type of spanking, I feel somewhat honored that they would bestow that trust in me.

Also, when I feel guilty I find that there is nothing that works better than a good, strict but loving spanking to pull me out of it. I know when I'm being spanked for something I've done wrong, I am miserable but I also feel very loved and taken care of. I use spanking for a happy median between sex and fun. Spanking (to me) is a way to get closer to your loved one in a comical, then passionate way. The spanking startes out as a funny little joke normally brought on by a comment like "you know you wanna spank my ass" or something along those lines. I was raised with spanking as punishment, then in my teens and later it became a sexual, or really a pre-sexual activity. Slowly and over time, my guy and I came to understand that a "therapy" or stress-relief spanking was a third type. I'm high strung and I get wound up too tightly, and the therapy spanking largely resolves that. Like YunaSan I have to cry for it to be effective, as if the tears washed away the layers of guilt, stress, and the fuzzylogic of everyday living, and made everything clear.

Some time, though, I need to sit down and think seriously about that (the therapy spanking), because there are a lot of subtleties there. Not at all straightforward like punishment or sex.

You might want to remove "Discipline" as an option. They just this minute closed a thread on that. Apparently this is a spanking site, but you can't discuss spanking used for its original purpose, just kink . Rules are weird. I wasn't sure what to vote for. You know, there is this girl I am dating and she is interested in spanking. I have found out this when joking with her about her occasional naughtiness. That led to her first spanking which was for fun.
