Gauging interest in the Wheel of Time...
So, I was bored at work the other day, and reading wikias to pass the time. My current favorite wikia is the Wheel of Time wikia (wot.wikia.com) and the idea struck me that the Wheel of Time setting has an awful lot of spanking references.
This was, of course, not a new revelation, by any stretch, but it did get me to wondering how many other AOTKers are familiar with the Wheel of Time setting and, if there's a number of them, how many would be interested in getting an on-going RP involving that world? Two perfect sites (in-world) for settings are, of course, the White Tower and the Black Tower, though of course there's any village, an Aiel encampment, a Seanchan noble house, a Seafolk ship... any or all of these settings could work for a structured or semi-structured WOT RP.
For those of you who have no idea WTF I am talking about, the Wheel of Time refers to a long-running series of fantasy novels set in a once-high-tech, now-post-apocalyptic world that features a sort of sorcery known as the One Power that can be channeled by gifted women and, rarely, men (who are driven insane by the Power, though women are not). In the novels, a god-like being called the Dark One is attempting to break free of his prison, and is opposed by a man named Rand al'Thor, the most powerful male-channeler, and his companions. The novels (now 11 in all) were written by the late Robert Jordan, with the final two novels scheduled to be completed by his wife and a collaborating author.
