Cc's 2010 Summer Contest - Let's Start This Summer Off Right!

Hey Everyone!

I'd like to hold a contest to celebrate summer.
^_^

Everyone is invited to join.

There will be two categories: Art and Fiction.

The rules are simple. Create a summer-themed spanking picture or story. Pairings and characters are totally up to you.

Each category will have a single winner. People are allowed to enter both categories, however you may only win in one. The winners will be decided by me according to Creativity, Skill, and Completeness (in other words, how fully the story/picture was considered).

The prize for winning in either category is a spanking picture drawn and colored by myself. The characters, pairing, setting, whatever is totally up to the winner. ^_^

I'll be having RobM create a gallery to submit them to so hold off on uploading them until it's ready.

CONTEST SUBMISSION DEADLINE: JUNE 20TH

Winners will be decided shortly afterward, probably announced a week or so later.

That sounds like a fun idea.

I have no idea how good I'll actually BE at this sort of thing, as I'm nowhere NEAR the best drawer or writer on here. ^^;

Well, notice that CC has two other criteria other than skill, so even if you're not the best artist, you could give it a shot and excel in those categories!
CC seems to be judging this yourself, so you don't need to worry too much about forum people voting for their friends over those who would actually be better fitting to the theme!.

If I could read your ghastly purple text I'd probably reply "Oh, I will be, will I?" but I can't read it on the AotK defult skin so I guess your perfectly safe~!

Yes, I am going to try and weigh all categories equally. For instance, I probably wouldn't pick a picture like this contest-announcement image as the winner. While I'd say it's drawn well and fairly complete, it's really basic and not that creative.

But the artistry is also important!

Yes I've decided to judge alone since I'm giving the prizes as well. I'd say that's fair! I considered the voting possibility momentarily, but agree that it often turns into just voting for friends. I know that happens a lot because the friend doesn't want to look like a jerk for voting for someone else, even if it might have deserved it more.

Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to imply it was in any way unfair! I think it's quite a fair way, actually, a nice way to hold a contest

I trust Cc to be fair, especially since it's not just about pairing or friends, but creativity and skill and more. I feel like it'll be fun no matter what, too, and it'll be good practice for me as well.

I might just enter both categories - writing and art. I figure I could use the practice in both areas, and I think I'll have fun.

I just have a question - I know how to upload stories to the site (though it's been years since I did), but I've never entered a contest...do you submit a story like regularly, or do I need to send it to you, Cc...? I'm not sure how that works, tbh, so I thought I'd ask. ^^; It's probably a really dumb question, but I just haven't ever entered any contests so I'm not sure how that works. D:
