Name: Cedric Klahan Belleau
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 5'9
Weight: 141 lbs.
Hair: Blondish with black stripes
Eyes: Honey-colored
Race: Tora-jin (TIGAH!)
Birthday: July 23
Appearance: He tends to dress in either basic black or white, though he’ll garb himself in the occasional orange or gold garment. He has most of his father’s European looks – inheriting his tora-jin appearance from his mother. He has a lean build.
History: Cedric was born to a French father and Thai tora-jin mother. Until he was 10 years old he lived alternately in Erehwon and France. In that time he studied foreign languages, art and history, and learned to appreciate opera and fine French cuisine. Sadly, his father was the victim of a mugging-gone-wrong while overseas on business and Cedric was suddenly being raised in a single-parent home. His mother took him and moved to her childhood home in Thailand.
The boy had trouble adjusting at first, but his mother signed him up to study muay thai. It gave him an outlet for his frustrations and helped him to cope with his loss through meditation and focus. In a way, it also helped ignite the spirit of the tiger within him. He became less introverted and began to embrace his Thai(ger) heritage.
Upheaval struck his life once again when he was 15. Quite accidentally, he discovered that his mother was somehow tied to a crime syndicate when he followed her to work overnight, instead of sleeping like he should have been. He never knew what her exact involvement was because as he snuck about the area he came across something he couldn’t ignore. It was an illegal fighting ring – except at the time he didn’t realize it. He simply saw live fights where money was changing hands. He remained hidden and simply watched the fights.
After this discovery, he began frequently sneaking out to watch. The ring was raided one night that he was there and he was injured, taking a blow to the throat, in the chaos that ensued. The local police couldn’t figure out why he was caught up in the raid and Cedric refused to speak to them. In fact, he hasn’t spoken a word since that evening. They couldn’t locate his mother and went to great efforts just to find out his name. Eventually it was determined that his citizenship was actually Erewhon and so he was sent back there.
Personality: He’s rather quiet and introverted. He no longer practices martial arts, at least not when anybody’s watching. Though he doesn’t speak, there’s no apparent medical reason why he can’t – he's been diagnosed as selectively mute. He communicates with people via text messages and with what sign language he has learned. That aside, he is very much your typical teenager.
School: Cedric is entering his junior year at the local high school. He has had to undergo testing to determine where his abilities lie because of the difference in Erewhon schools and his studies in Thailand. According to his evaluations he is near the upper end of the “average” curve. However, the spoken language barrier has proven to be challenging. He is currently learning ASL and accommodations are being made, but his teachers are confident that in time he will make a smooth transition.
Interests/Hobbies: He still practices muay thai, but does so anywhere he can’t be discovered. He has found a spot in the woods, well beyond the house where he can meditate and practice. There's a waterfall there that he'll often sit underneath while he meditates.
The newest hobby he has picked up is soccer. He likes going to quiet places and is interested in museums and other places where objects of beauty can be found.
Miscellaneous: Cedric is fluent in English, French, and Thai. He knows enough ASL to get by, as well as a smattering of German, Italian, Spanish, and Mandarin. He’s worried about his mother’s disappearance, but is hopeful that she’ll turn up or that somehow he can find her again. He still carries a lot of eastern values because of having spent the last 5 years in Thailand so some of the norms and values in Erehwon seem strange to him.
After just shy of 2 weeks in the house, Mr Faust has given Cedric the authority to administer discipline. This came after a couple of instances where Cedric found himself as the only person who could (or should) deal with a situation. According to the head of the household, he dealt with them admirably.
