The Greek God Zeus shows his wife Hera who wears the Toga in the family... with a LIGHTNING SPANKING! If you're not familiar with Greek myth, Zeus is constantly being unfaithful but Hera is a bit of a battle axe.

Does anyone know if the Greeks actually treated plumpness as the ideal of beauty? Or did the baroque and rococo painting periods have more to do with creating that perception with images of chubby greek goddesses? Either way, I get the ancient Greeks weren't at all like typical photoshopped Hollywood beauties you see today.

I've actually found what might be a spanking reference in the Iliad.

Basically, Zeus has promised to help Achilles in the Trojan War because he has Achillles's mother as a mistress and wants to make her happy. Hera finds out, and nags him about it while they're at a feast, so he tells her to shut up.
"Goddess, submit; nor dare our will withstand,
But dread the power of this avenging hand."

As they're at a feast, lots of other gods hear it, including the smith Hephaestus, Zeus and Hera's son. He says:
"Goddess (he cried), be patient and obey.
Dear as you are, if Jove his arm extend,
I can but grieve, unable to defend"

(Jove being the Roman name for Zeus).

So, basically, Zeus tells Hera to shut up, or he'll spank her... while lots of other gods, including their son, are listening.

(Of course, it's also possible that he meant he'd beat her, not spank her, but my spanko mind went somewhere else).

It most likely refers to the fact thar Zeus calls lightning by raising his hand, so probably what he was saying was that if she didn't shut up, he was going to shove a lightning bolt down her throat. But I like your interpretation better

Thunder & lightning! I love this goddess spanking - cool idea & very original pair, as always from you. It would be more showy with colors can imagine... Great work.

Now,Zeus is not the best of the husbands,but there is a single event in which he could have been rightfull to punish her;
When she plotted whith Poseidon and Apollo to overthrow him!
In the real mith he chained her to the sky, with anvil on her ankles, but this would have been a better idea!Lol.

It is more of a renaissance ideal, the plumber greek godesses. Somewhat of an athletic build is sometimes found in statues but also a more average weight.
The statues were not Hollywood thin I'd say but they were idealized in their own way of course not photoshopped but they weren't completly naturalistic either.
We don't know how they were painted since there really aren't any surviving ancient greek paintings.

I always wanted to see spanking art based on Greek mythology. )

P.S. Antique ideal of beauty included ratherround and noticable bottoms. ) Not so plump, as a Barocco one, but rather chubby. ^^

I've seen the Venus de Milo, and she does have a rumpus on her, but she wasn't nearly as plump as the women in Ruben's paintings and the like.
