Scaredy Smurf was notoriously afraid of everything. Innocent things like tickling him from behind, without a warning, would make him jump out of his skin. No matter how hard his fellow smurfs tried to help him coming over this biggest fears, it always proved useless. Eventually, Scaredy ended up with no friend to talk to. Everybody loved him, but it was impossible to make him happy without scaring him.
One day, Scaredy was given one task: while the other smurfs were supervising the repair work at the Smurf Bridge, he was supposed to look out for possible dangers. But when Gargamel came, Scaredy found himself too afraid to even yell. Fortunately, Papa Smurf had previously set a trap near the working area, and Gargamel was dumb enough to fall in. He had to retreat once again, swearing in a defeated roar that he'd have his revenge next time.
Which we wouldn't, as usual.
It was a victory, but not for everyone. Scaredy sought refuge in his own house, fleeing from the crowd as an intense feeling of shame took over. Hefty Smurf quickly joined him and did his best to comfort him. To no avail. Until that moment when an idea came to his mind.
''Scaredy, what you did today was unacceptable! Papa is furious and everyone thinks you should be punished for that. Now stop whining like a baby and come here, over my knees. I'll give you a good reason to cry."
Scaredy felt his heart pounding like never before (as usual). Anguish paralyzing him, he froze still, forcing Hefty to grab his hand and lay him over his knees himself. After putting his pants down, and right before Scaredy's bare bottom was to receive its first slap, Hefty murmured to his ears:
''I lied to you, Scaredy. Papa's not furious and nobody said you should be punished. However, I do believe that you could use a little help to cry all this sadness away. Now, you can cry, baby boy. Don't restrain yourself.''
Hefty rose his hand and a heavy rain of fire landed on Scaredy's bottom. As the spanking strength slowly increased, conflicted feelings fought a battle in Scaredy's mind. His shame was getting higher, increased by the burning pain and Hefty's rudeness, but he was happy. All these slaps felt so delicious for him, as he finally had a way to evacuate this outpouring of guilt that had been eating away at him for so long. In a matter of minutes, barely a few dozen smacks later, it already felt like a huge burden was coming off his shoulders.
It had been a while since the last time Scaredy had enjoyed a spanking that much.
Being spanked was a way for him to know that a loving friend was taking care of him. Therefore, Scaredy felt safe for the first time in ages. When he felt safe, he was not afraid. And when he was not afraid, he was happy.
