Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
I hope thats not just because of the Sash? I do believe that outside of american highschools and the "Hallway monitor" there are other meanings for a sash. That said, you've made a good point I didn't think of and you could be dead-on. Other than the "Hon" I can't read the sash, I'm not familiar with "Ichi-hon" as a word either, so it's beyond me mediocre Japanese.
Crossing guards in Europe and Japan tend to wear high-vis and "safety first" helmets. (I've been photographed with them ^_^ I had a 'safety first' man fetish for a while and as an engineer was fascinated with the way every construction site had dozens of them in glorious uniforms overflowing with braid and badges and those white gloves almost like it was status symbol. It didn't matter how big your building was, how beautiful or expensive, your importantance and worth was measured by how many 'safety first' men you had more than your rivals. Even working in the street you'd see a crew working on a street-side fuse-box, in a cherry picker or cutting the grass and for every two/three men working there'd be four or five 'safety first' men standing around them with their gold-braid and white gloves to direct the pedestrians around the worksite in case they were injured).

It was a totally far-off guess, but the white gloves made me think traffic-something. The sash made me jump to crossing guard, but the... um.. tassles and... 'festoonments' on her hat/shoulder seemed sort of government/protective too, so I just jumped for a guess.
Yeah, I was really into them, and the girls too, (ever seen Excell Saga first episode?) I thought they were really intriguing and I was really just walking around the various districts Squeeing when I saw them~
On another note, the white gloves are just about every employee in Japan that might come near meeting a member of the public. I've seen the beggers and jobless in Japan wearing them. They don't mean anything really.
