Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
A little bit simple, but I want to encourage you to keep drawing. There's an artist named Christopher Hart who has written good books on cartooning with great info about proportions and such made simple. You might look into it.
I can't suggest enough not posting these early works until you've got... a little more behind you.
You're going in the right direction, but you need to do fifty or sixty more drawings like this before considering posting~
I have no critique or advice since you're definately going in the right direction - all I can say is do a lot more, posting these early works arn't going to get you any real feedback, just an ominous silence.
The colouring is nice and sketchy in that way that I like and used to use myself, the pencil lines arn't a mess and its scanned and sized fine.
In six months or less I imagine you'll be putting out some quite competant work... but not just yet.
IF I was forced at gunpoint to give some advice, I'd say consider practicing your inking in future. Once you've gotten better pencil lines follow up with a fine soft-tipped pen and very carefully bring the lines up and off the page - but thats not for everyone~
I appreciate your post RobM, but I really can't do much better than this. These aren't earlier works. I have lazy eye and ampliopia in my left eye, so this is the best drawing I can do and that's after erasing and trying to use my one good eye to see if everything is alright, so pen is out of the question. But once again, I appreciate it and I do try to get better, but I doubt it will.
You might try drawing more expressively. Sometimes, people who have trouble with realism can do amazing stuff with abstraction. I don't know how you make it spanking related, but if you see some of my ink drawings, I love to let the pen have a mind of its own and redraw.
Thanks captfalconpunch, I looked at some of your drawings. They are very good. I wish I could draw like that, but with my eye the way it is; it's not possible. I would love to draw with a pen and try different things, but I just can't do it. It's hard enough with the pencil and erasing so much. But I don't do this for others' opinions. It is great and I appreciate it, but I draw because I love it and I would keep posting drawings even if no one ever commented on them. Thank you and once again you are a geat artist.
