Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
Really the Empire couldn't have solidified its grasp over the Star Wars universe without Jar Jar. His betrayal of his friends was the final step in his becoming a Blackguard.
In the entire Star War universe, one character stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of writing. I don't have a single doubt that Senator Jar Jar Binks will go down in history as the epitome of what a writer can accomplish with a character - and that's not limited to just screenwriting. Some say that he's an archetype, much like many of the beloved Star Wars character, and look to him as the exemplary bumbling fool, but, they're the fools; Jar Jar is all the character archetypes simultaneously because he's so well-rounded, and densely characterized. Every single image featuring Jar Jar has so much going on. Tell me, would a bumbling fool who isn't annoying at all finish their character arc as a senator who inadvertently leads the people to make the decision that allows Palpatine to rise to power? Of course not. To all the people in this comments section who are refusing to admit that Jar Jar is objectively a better character than their favorites, Han, Luke, and those other losers, I have two words: PEE-YOUsa!
Sadly, story progression does not equal character progression. Jar Jar has but one moment where he shows a hint of progression- his time as Senator, where he is shown to have learned of true hardship and regret, and where it has his epiphany when he´s finally forced to make a choice by himself instead of follwoing. The rest of the time until the very ends, he´s just the same gimmick in a different background or suit.
Sure, he might have more development than most others. But that's not very hard to, in the first place.
I'm not sure I'd call that a character arc. More like, they saw their chance to get rid of him forever and they took it... I will say this, though, there was only one other character who had the chance to stab the backs of the very people who saved his life, and Jar Jar did it in a much more frightening way than Anakin did. No malice, no speeches, just happy agreement to slaughter.
