la-revolution-fesse

Not many people know the story of the Harlequins revolution - but all their grandparents insist they were there.

Queen Melisza wasn't a terrible monarch, just a hopeless one and inept one. The trouble came when her kleptocratic daughter took over the running of the state in her stead.

It started out in the countryside, a lone Knight had discovered his talent with people and lead a march on the capital demanding a 'Bill of Rights' for the people.
By the time he reached the ancient and run-down castle he led a troup of tens of thousands. The defending army parted and he alone ascended the stairs to the royal's chambers at the top of the central keeps tower.

No-one who witnessed the events that followed and the queen and princesses reluctant signing of the peasants 'Bill of Rights' tells *how* he got them to sign...
All that IS said, is that he didn't threaten them and that it was a bloodless coup. The queen apparently agreed first and just stood and waved to the peasant crowds below as her daughter was won-around to the Harlequins way of thinking.

The royals remained happy heads of state under a much more efficient and caring regime.
The Harlequin... disappeared from History, greatful that when he had been called by destiny... he was not found wanting.

It's... not quite as finished as I'd have liked... but it IS in on time.
Just, twenty minutes is a long time in show business.

It's my first ever M/FF!!! Huzzah!
It's also quite vulgar. I quite like /Mother+Daugher spankings.

The title was originally 'The Bloodless Coup' but I dropped it and chose one suggested by Mina.
I had wanted the satirical name; 'la Grande Fesser Terreur' a joking reference to the French revolution which was far less pleasant or bloodless so I didn't keep it as a serious contender.
The british Magna Carta (Our own bill of rights) was signed in this way. Minus the spanking, of course. Oh, and it wasn't exactly bloodless but it established our democracy (of sorts) and retained the monarch as figure-head of state.

The dialogue is crap I know, but... meh, I'm out of time.

The background I think is my best ever, even if it IS a little... bright.
There was supposed to be a Dragon flying by... but I forgot him.

I like the crowd, hardly tens-of-thousands but my mushroom revolution has done it's best.
What they can and can't see is debatable. It certainly didn't make it into the history books.
I should mention the daughters name is; Arlitz.
The Harlequin has the name 'Che' on my layers... but thats not his name really.

Comments please~!

Rob- the dialogue and idea is BRILLIANT in addition to the artwork and ALL of that detail that went into the background. You're amazing!

Heh, ill-mannered royalty and lingerie, eh? I should have known you'd work them in there, especially with a theme like "Fantasy." ^^

Though it looks like the peasant army got a little caught up in the heat of the moment with that guard tower in the background, "bloodless coup" or no. Unless that was meant to be the dragon. It's a damn good setting though, and an excellent way to change the meaning of the third figure's pose. I'm quite fond of the Harlequin's design as well, especially the breastplate.

And you might yet make me a fan of ruffles and lace. :P

This is how the French Revolution should have gone as well.

Honestly, I think it's a win-win.

I just realized something. Their hair. If this really was during the French revolution, those girls would be in a long more trouble then a few warm bottoms. Their short hair at the time meant that the church had disclaimed them and that anyone could kill them. Now I know that's not what Rob was going after sbut it jst hit me.

Nice picture by the way Rob.

yah, that was the idea behind my original idea 'la Grande Fesser Terreur' - more of 'Reign of fear of spankings' ^___^

Che also has short hair, but thats to keep his beret on (The revolutionaries type, not the french kind).

It's a shame about the wizards tower, Dr. Weird is right, the dragon got a little... over excited >__>

I love the princesses purple panties and the other charactesrc costumes wish I had time to have shaded it more~
Thank you so much for the comments~

Hurray for the Mushroom revolution!

This is indeed an awesome idea and wondeful designed setting & characters. Impressive work with the background, too. I do also like the dialogue. I know it is no easy to fit everything important into two bubbles.

The only thing that makes me wonder, is the queens short hair. It doesn't quite fit the image I have in my mind. Princesses with short hair are common enough, but short haired queens are rare. Of course it's not a bad thing, just different from what I expected.

Maybe the king died not long ago? This is the only thing I can imagine that would explain the queen's short hair. Not totally, but ... yeah. As we don't want them to get killed ...

Besides that, I really like this pic ^^ The clothing is so wonderful, I wanna have the queen's outfit! Kyaa~
Why does the princess wears a gray dress? o-O

*Points to Lizzie II on the English throne*

The head of the British Commonwealth of Nations - almost 2.2bn people and 1/3rd of the global population - has short hair! I like short hair ;__;
Truuuue she should have long hair to suit the picture... but... I just like her this way.

And as a last word for the staunch republicans in the audience who are blissfully unaware of most countries rules of Succession, when a king dies, the child, not the spouse takes over. If it had been the case that a king died then his daughter would become Queen Arlitz and her mum gets the title 'Queens mother'.

As it happens, the husband died many years ago, leaving his wife, the Queen, to strike a balence between spoiling their only infant daughter - or finish pushing his emancipation legistlation through a hostile parliment filled with barons and landowners.
Her choice was obvious.

And... well, the princess's dress isn't just grey cotton - it's the sexiest, slinkiest satin and silk mix. The panties are too. I just didn't draw it very well (May I remind you I finished and posted just 20minutes before the deadline.
I'll PM you the reference I was interested in.
She was also supposed to be wearing some arm-length satin (grey) gloves. Fingerless, of course but I skipped 'em for time constraints to work on the background. I will certainly re-edit this drawing after the competition with the suggested changes.

Viva, viva la revolucion! Little princesses have to get it more often!
BTW, no wonder they are short haired - all the other people down there look totally bald!
