@Zamas: Depends on the country - if it's in China, say, then standards are different, although for the skin to turn that colour is very questionable, and squeezing it like that when it's already severely damaged is going to burst capillaries, I think.

Thank you all for your comments. This cartoon is drawn based on facts, but it is indeed extremely rare in our country to fight hard. Although the girl was beaten badly, she really misses the severe beating now.

I do agree though that cheating can't be tolerated and such a hard spanking would act as a good deterrant. I just hope it didn't cripple her.

Loving maternal aftercare, that's quite sweet.

However, given the deep purple glow radiating from the girl's ravaged bumcheeks, I'm not certain that Mom was actually paddled "way harder" by Grandma (her own mother) during her girlhood.

crimsonkidck is right, i think it would be tough to make it worse without blood. plus the mom saying "i had it worse so yours isn't as bad" is just poor aftercare. great art but i really cant get behind the story/feeling. i'd had cut her off for this kind of thin. : (

Mom Too severe and not sweet at all even afterwards.... she doesn't comfort her, she doesn't hug her, she doesn't cuddle her... her daughter is small and hasn't done anything serious or irreparable. ... she didn't steal, she didn't hurt anyone ... she just made a mistake
