Despite appearances, Sensei had always been a caring teacher. Always.
Even when faced with the most difficult students. Even when he constantly yelled at them to shake them up, handed them bad grades with hopes they would be the last ones, kept them in detention after school with hopes that these overtime hours would be the last ones, or phoned their parents knowing that it'd put them in further trouble for their own good.
Nobita Nobi was one of them. A really difficult one.
Despite appearances, he wasn't a bad person but everybody thought he was, which could only mean more despondency, dejection and blue devils in reaction to the entire world looking down on him. Nobita was especially bad at school, but why even bother? He sucked at life as a whole and couldn't care less how low his morale could drop.
At first, it seemed Sensei's tough love for the children of his class would be useless in Nobita's case. The failing boy was done for. He was a bad seed. He was hopeless.
Unless Sensei's said tough love could be shown in another way... with a little more emphasis on the "tough" part. And a bit more physical proximity.
One day, after school, Nobita was in detention again. As usual, he'd not pay attention to his homework, look through the window and wait until his tired teacher gave up and released him. But this afternoon, Nobita noticed that Sensei was spending a surprising amount of time checking that everyone - literally everyone - had left the school facilities.
For whatever reason, he wanted the both of them to be completely on their own. Nobody left to listen to or spy on them. And the moment he realized what this was all about, it was too late for his backside.
Sensei was no longer a teacher with a scolding, severe voice: he was now a father figure with a strong, lashing hand. First, he proceeded to reprimand Nobita again for his idle behavior, even during detention. Then, he grabbed him by the ear and dragged the naughty to a corner. of the class. No moving from there until further notice.
Nobita's cheeks turned deep red, out of instinctive solidarity with another part of his body. His heart pounded in anticipation of something his subconscious already feared would happen. He was scared, but most of all, he was ashamed: him, a "grown-up" ten-year-old, sent to the corner like a toddler half his age? How could it be?
Nobita was angry and offended, but he didn't move and anxiously waited to be given new instructions, for he knew - perfectly well and clearly - that it was to be expected. In fact, it was becoming the new norm. It had been a couple of weeks since his own mother, having exhausted all alternative remedies, had reverted back to old-fashioned discipline. She now resorted to spanking whenever her son misbehaved, with surprisingly good results at home.
Even her girlfriend, Shizuka, used the same punishment against Nobita's rear end when she felt like it was needed. Even when it wasn't, much to Nobita's embarrassment.
At home or at a friend's place, spanking worked. And it would soon work at school too, as his teacher was probably well aware of the many spankings Nobita had already received. "Good news" spread fast, especially in a crowded Tokyo neighborhood. Among his classmates, everybody knew. So did Sensei.
And what was to happen, eventually happened.
Sensei told Nobita he would get a spanking. Nobita let out a scream of fright, but he did not resist or try to protest on the ground that "a teacher couldn't legally do that". He could refuse, fight back or run, even call for help, but an inner voice advocated against it. Nobita deserved to be spanked, as only this method would work, and he knew it. Just like he knew that his teacher wanted the best for him and couldn't be blamed for doing his job. And since everybody in town was informed of Nobita regularly catching it from some of his closest relatives, it had become almost irrelevant to deny another pair of hands such a right over his bottom.
From this moment on, Sensei would do nothing but "adapting" to Nobita's needs. The boy was spanked firmly and fairly. On this bare bottom, just like any kid that deserved it. He cried a lot, even while Sensei listened, in the presence of whom Nobita wasn't yet used to shedding tears, and totally unbothered by the fact a new person was spanking him.
Sensei wasn't the first, wouldn't be the last, and Nobita was a crybaby who would proudly stand by it.
When the spanking was over, Nobita returned to the corner. He dried his tears and calmed down. He felt relieved of guilt, as he had gotten used to recovering in a quick fashion after a spanking. His immediate preoccupation was to figure out whether, or not, his teacher would keep him sitting by his desk until the end of his detention, which would be a problem for his unfortunate bottom on fire. And what if Sensei called his mother? He surely was in deep trouble.
And what about the others? Sooner or later, his friend would find out. "Nobita Nobi, the first schoolboy ever spanked by Sensei. Oh, what a shame!"
People would mock and tease him for sure, but he was used to it. Unfortunately.
Thankfully though, things took a turn for the best. As he was done doing the dirty work, Sensei smiled like he had never done before. Like Nobita's mother did when she was about to... give him a hug. What Sensei did as well.
Nobita had never been hugged by his teacher, but it felt equally warm and comforting. Sensei took all the time he needed to console and soothe the little boy. Once Nobita felt better, he was eventually released. A soft hand stroked his hair; he was forgiven and free to go.
Sensei nonetheless asked if he was Ok with having been spanked. He promised that the details of this "special session" would stay between them. He wouldn't tell anyone. Nobita confessed that he had deserved such treatment. He would not hold any grudge against his teacher and even thanked him.
Sensei took Nobita by the hand and took him back home. Some people would probably see them and start asking questions, but Nobita didn't mind. His scorched behind was back under cover anyway. And he had missed being taken care of like this. Like a little boy.
Finally, Sensei dropped him by the door of his house. Before leaving, he said with a blink of an eye: "Since you're not my child, I'm not technically allowed to spank you at work. I'd understand if you didn't want this to happen again, but just in case, do I... have your permission?"
With light red painted on his cheeks, Nobita rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. But he was smiling, and after a moment of hesitation, came an answer: "Only if I deserve it."
That meant "yes".
