You can, I haven't set one for any of the new gallerys - and I can see you haven't gotten green artist tags yet - I'll sort that now.
Images for gallery thumbs are best to be colourful, have nice big characters filling the screen and if at all possible be squarish.
Lemme know what you'd prefer.

I'm afraid I'm not on 24 hours a day, I haven't had a chance to check my messages, some stuff goes onto the 'not time-critical' pile.
I think you do qualify, I'll have a look later, I'm afraid I don't have a firm answer right now.

You don't I'm afraid, galleries are given one you've qualified, not on a time-served or user-defined basis unfortunately.
To qualify you need to have a few dozen high-quality works and to be active in posting. I'd suggest you need a few more high quality pictures and to address the technical issues (your pictures being too big, for example) but you're well on the way~
