The Doctor's two hearts twinged when he heard what Spock had to say, that he was scared of losing him and that was odd to hear from a companion since usually it was the other way round, "Spock..." he said softly and then pushed up from his lap after he rubbed in the sting. He watched him step away and then turn away. "Spock...look, I had...no idea you wanted to protect me...I'm usually the one protecting my companions."

He looked down and put a hand on his shoulder, turning him round. "I'm sorry Spock..." he said softly before pulling him into a gentle hug that he would be able to easily pull out of if he chose to do so.

Spock listened to what the other male had to say. He actually sniffled a bit and he looked to him with a bleary expression. "After I had watched my planet be destroyed... I vowed to never let anything bad happen to my friends. Never." He said firmly, turning to him as he was forced to. He nodded at his apology and then wrapped his arms around the Time Lord.

"I know..." He said softly. "I was so angry, Doctor. I had assumed that you didn't value our friendship. That I was nothing more than a boring acquaintance..." He explained to him, hugging him tighter. "I used to be very dull before I met you. I have opened up to my human side since then. I know I am still strict, but you must know that you have made progress."

The Doctor knew he'd said the wrong thing when he talked about getting a new companion. Spock was not replaceable and he was a jerk for saying that he was. "I do value our friendship Spock, I'm sorry for what I said...I didn't mean it." he told him and sighed softly, nodding when he said he had been very dull before he met the Doctor, that making the spiky haired Time lord smile.

"I know Spock...and ...um, would ya punish me...for what I said, please?"
