Viktor was satisfied as the truth at last came out, but Yurio's attitude did nothing to curb his temper. He took a breath and wished for patience as he stood up straight. His eyes were much more stern than before. Despite his hesitance to scold Yurio, he knew better than to give in to his hesitance and Yurio's casual attitude. Especially considering...

"Yurio. Do you know what those can do to your lungs? To your career? What about the children that look up to you as a role model and idol? The ones that will see you smoking and watch your career fumble away. Is that what you want for yourself?! We talked about this!"

He felt himself choking up at the image of Yurio, lungs giving out and skates lying in a corner to rot. No. He couldn't allow that to happen.

"Oh come on, you're being way too over dramatic," Yurio said when his brother went into full on lecture mode when he ended up admitting to what he had been doing when his brother arrived at the apartment. "It's not like I'm smoking a pack a day or something, it's one or two cigarettes every now and then," the small teen said in his own defense.

Seriously, his brother blew things way out of proportion sometimes.

"It's not that big of a deal Viktor," he added, as if saying that more than once would drive the message home to his brother. The problem with that being that they were both stubborn, a fact that he knew but for the moment was opting to ignore.

Of course, the older skater could acknowledge the severity of the situation wasn't as large as it could have been. A pack a day and Viktor would have had a heart attack right then and there! However it was the lying, the sneaking around, and disrespect that struck him deeply. Watching his little brother go down this path did nothing but break his heart.

Viktor had given out several warnings of what was to come before hand. And as he looked into the defiant eyes of his younger, he knew warnings weren't going to cut it anymore. And as much as he tried to jump around it, to give the boy a chance to curb his behavior, he had to act.

A small smile danced on the skaters lips. A tired smile as he shook his head and sighed.

"Do you remember the warnings I've given you these last few times? What would happen if I caught you with these again, especially in the house?"

The way that his brother always seemed to smile at the most inappropriate situations was something that never ceased to confuse Yurio and now was no exception to that. He noticed the little smile but he also noticed the tired look behind it and that actually did make him feel a twinge of guilt.

He loved his brother and he wasn't actively trying to upset Viktor.

It was just that the older Russian was getting in the way of the image that he was trying to create for himself. He was tired of being compared to a fairy and dammit he was going to do something about it.

Yurio was drawn out of those thoughts when Viktor spoke, the small teen looking at his brother and then shaking his head in response to the questions. Not because he didn't know the answer but because he was not okay with that.

"No Viktor, you can't," Yurio said with another shake of his head.

Viktor's smile was now virtually nonexistent as he stared up at the suddenly spooked teen. Normally he gave in to the protests and promises. But the lying and sneaking around was getting to be too much of a problem to turn a blind eye to. He began stepping around the small coffee table to get closer to Yurio, hoping to prevent his little brother from running away. This had been a long time coming and it was time for his little brother to face the music. And if he continued to smoke, a spanking would be the least of the boy's problems.

"I think you'll find that I can, Yuri. I'm your big brother and I have to take responsibility." His voice was sharp as he reached for the boy's arm, not leaving much time for protest or a single plead. He wouldn't give in. "I've given you too many chances. And you've broken every one."

Yurio looked at his big brother as Viktor stepped toward him and he got to his feet, shaking his head in response to Viktor's words and still hoping, perhaps vainly, that the older male was just bluffing. He had managed to successfully wheedle his way out of this before and he was hoping that he would be able to do so again in this instance.

He focused his gaze on Viktor as his brother grasped his arm, this causing him to shake his head once again.

This time with a little more insistence and fervor.

"No, Viktor, you really can't," Yurio said in response to his big brother's statement. "You're my brother, not my father."

Not that their parents had ever really been around for him, which was why he was currently in the care of his big brother in the first place. But still this was the only argument that Yurio could really come up with and so it was the one that he had to use.

Whether he wanted to or not.

The much older skater gave a small chuckle and shook his head, pulling Yurio back over to the couch with a firm grip. Hard enough to trap but not hard enough to bruise. He pulled the boy to the sofa and looked back at his younger brother, seeing wide, fearful eyes, and a wildly shaking head, blonde hair flying around a small face.

"Yes. I am. And it's my responsibility to keep you safe and discipline you when I feel it's necessary. When you lie and smoke and sneak and disrespect."

Despite his firm tone, he could feel his heart clench in sadness. The task ahead of him was not a pleasant one.

"If you think I'm being so unreasonable, can you honestly say then, that you don't deserve this? That you don't deserve every spank you're going to get? Can you Yuri?

Even as he was being pulled toward the sofa Yurio tried everything in the world to prevent it, the much smaller male dragging his feet and at the same time pulling at his arm in an attempt to pull free. He wasn't actually afraid of his brother, he knew that Viktor would never actually hurt him, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to do everything in his power to avoid what his big brother was currently implying was going to happen.

"I'm perfectly safe and this isn't necessary!" Yurio protested in response to his big brother's words, once again shaking his head.

He actually blew out a frustrated breath when Viktor asked his question, the boy giving him a look. "No, I don't deserve it," Yurio was quick to say, his tone sort of desperate as he spoke the words he felt might save him from what Viktor was planning.

And the fact that they weren't true didn't even enter into the equation.

"Just stop already Viktor, you've made your point," the slight blonde added as he once again attempted to pull his wrist free of his big brother's grasp.

Viktor felt his resolve shake and he frowned, remembering what the boy had done. Remembering the anger he had felt. The image of his brothers career destroyed. It was enough to push him forward, pulling the struggling boy, almost DRAGGING him over to the couch where he sat down, one hand still holding the boy tight and the other firmly grabbing Yurio's shoulder, forcing the teen to face him.

"Yurio. Enough. I warned you. I warned you many times that I would give you a spanking if I didn't see improvement. I'm not going to let this happen again. I hate the fact that I have to do this. But you're going over my knee, and that's my final word on it."

He gave Yurio a very gentle jolt, making sure the boy was listening.

"Understood?"

"I didn't think you were serious!" Yurio felt the need to say when Viktor pointed out that he had been warned about this. That was true enough but the slight blonde had thought that those were just empty threats, that his brother would never actually go through with it. "You can't be serious," he added in a smaller voice, his green eyes focusing on Viktor when he asked if he understood.

"No Vitya, don't," Yurio said, once again going back to using his brother's nickname in the hopes that he could tug on Viktor's heartstrings and get him to change his mind before he actually went through with this.

Yurio was running out of ideas to prevent what was looming over him and he was getting a little bit desperate.
