The Blind Date.

"Well, this is me." Lana stopped in front of a yellow VW bug. "I teally enjoyed meeting you.' Lana still hadnt let go of his hand. She looked up at Julians face and his gorgeous smile. He really was what she was lookong for in a man. Interesting, educated, and handsome.

She just hoped that he wouldnt be scared away by some of her interests outside of art and music.

"Id really like to see you again." She looked down coyly at thier linked hands.

[Cyrus]

"I'd like to see you again too. Soon," Julian replied. Cute car, he thought, looking at the bug. Not as cute as the owner of course... He felt truly lucky to have met Lana on this blind date. She might even be his dream woman, he mused. If only this could blossom into the relationship of his dreams, too...

"So, next time," he said. "Museum? Or what's coming up at the Leon Theater, soon? I would really like to see you again too..." He laughed. "I might have already said that."

Lana smiled. Standing face to face she could see all of his frame. Okay, the end of the date. Do people kiss on the first date? Lana had never, but she had never been on a first date where she wanted to kiss someone either. Julian was different.

"Here." Lana handed Julian a napkin with her phone number on it. She was horrified when she saw the back of thw napkin had a lipsrick kiss on it. The pink pout was a perfect outline of her lips. She had saw a black and white movie once and thw heroine had left a lipstick stain as her calling card. Lana envied the confidence of those young starlets. Please dont turn it over. She thought. At least not until im gone. She couls feel her cheeks turn pink.

Yes! For a split second Julian was afraid it might be fake, but he realized that he trusted Lana, and somehow the numbers on the napkin felt right. Taking it from her, the breeze flapped it over in his hand and he noticed the cherry pink mark where Lana's lips had touched it.

Julian smiled. Deep down he was a romantic at heart and a lipstick kiss like this seemed very romantic indeed. Realizing that they were really saying goodbye, Julian wondered if Lana was the sort of person who kissed on the first date. Ordinarily it could go either way, but Julian knew he wanted it now. But what if he rushed things? What if he chased her away? Julian decided to take that risk.

He leaned forward and met his lips to hers.

Lana barely had time to think about being embarrassed by the lipstick kiss before she was on the receiving end of the real thing. Lana let herself be led by Julian. His lips were warm and inviting, she even closed her eyes for a moment shutting out the people on the sidewalk.

She parted her lips slightly and leaned into the kiss.

[Cyrus]

Kissing other people was usually awkward for Julian. He was always afraid of doing it wrong, or being weird about it, or simply not doing a good job. But Lana was different. He simply leaned into it, and it felt right.

Time passed, how much was hard to tell. It seemed like time stood still during that first kiss. Somewhere inside his mind Julian dimly registered that the kiss must at some point come to an end. He gently leaned back, and was left smiling at Lana.

Wow! Thought Lana. She opened her eyes to see Julian smiling at her and suddenly felt shy. She blushed.

"So," she fumbled with her keys. "This is my car..um..maybe ill stop by the musuem and you can show me that new exhibit?"

She opened her car door. "Say, this Saturday?"

[Cyrus]

Lana was cute when she blushed, Julian thought. Of course she had seemed beautiful this whole time; nice too.

"Yeah," Julian said. "Saturday. I'll be looking forward to it." And he really was.
