Sam Conner, was sitting waiting for the train to arrive, the light flickering down was defused slightly from the water over head seeing as the station was under water. it was a nice place to say the least, and Sam personally found it appealing.

BRC was one of the newest options in the justice system. Built to keep kids out of the system, it involved careful schooling, TLC and discipline. It was a system that worked. with a 100% success rate at the moment it was something amazing in and of itself. the island was a chain with the main school and dorms built on one island. a series of other activities and such, shops, malls all that. were built along the others.

The island was basically a self sustained city. which even had a university on it as well.

as Sam checked his watch he could feel the slight wind that told him the train was coming. So he got up and stretched. Ready for any adventures that might come from it.

Michelle Jasmine Holland sat quietly as the train approached it's final destination. She was told a few days ago that she would be attending a new school call BRC, but wasn't given much information about whst kind of school it was or where it was even located. Not that she would have listened anyway, from her experience adults always seem to lie to her. Anywhere from the teachers who said they cared about her, to her mother who said the day she dropped her off at an orphanage that she would come back for her in a few weeks a month tops after she found a new job and started saving some money, however that was just over two years ago. Even to the 10-year old girl it was clear her mother wasn't coming back.

As the train arrived at it's final stop, Michelle looked around has a few other kids aboard began to exit, she didn't follow them and just stayed seated. She didn't know where to go or if anyone was meeting her there and was too shy to ask one of the other kids aboard when she had the chance.

Sam had gotten the girls picture just he day before. so he was holding it up, checking for the one who he was going to be mentoring, when he spotted her he smiled. she certainly was as cute as her picture. calmly he walked over "Hello. You must be Michelle." he said. he smiled kindly "I'm Sam. I'm your Mentor here." he added.

Since all the other kids had left, the train it was silent, so quiet that Michelle could clearly hear the sound of approaching footsteps. When she looked up there was a tall man with dark hair standing over her with a picture in his hand 'he will must be one of the teachers' she thought to herself, however she then noticed the scar over his left eye and felt a little uneasy.

She tried not to look at it as he smiled and greeted her even calling her by name as he then addressed himself as 'Sam' she then looked at him with a bit of confusion on her face. "Mentor? Is that like a teacher?" she asked If so what kind of teacher are you? Cause teachers don't go go around telling kids their first names though, well at least not like back at my old school."

"In a way, I am." Sam said in response to her question. "Though I don't teach lessons. I'm the one who's going to be taking care of you doing your time here. making sure that you are fed, dressed and all that." he said. lowering his hand as it didn't look like she was going to shake hands. at least not right away.

"If you'd like to go up stairs we can sit down and discuss things." Sam said "If your hungry I can buy you something." he added.

Michelle still wasn't sure she fully understood, was it like the orphanage? How many other kids would he in charge of watching over besides her? she wondered and where were they? He then offered to discuss things with her further upstairs and if she was hungry he would buy her something to eat. Hearing that made her face light up a bit for sure, if there was one word that usually described Michelle it was hungry. She stood up from her seat and fixed the back of her frilly pink skirt and nodded "Would you buy me a hamburger and fries?" she asked "I really love burgers and fries" she started making her way off the train looking back as the exited completely to make sure he was coming along.

"i'd be happy to do that. come on kiddo." Sam said as he lead her up stairs over to a Café, he placed an order for her, even buying her a drink. then lead her to a table and set the tray of food in front of her. "Dig in." he said with a warm smile. once she was eating he then said "So, do you have any questions for me honey?" Sam asked.

There was a frown on Michelle's face for a split second when Sam called her 'kiddo', however she didn't say anything and allowed him to leave her upstairs to the food court area. It didn't take long to get the food once ordered or to find a place to sit. Once Michelle started eating Sam the asked if she had any questions for him, despite his sincere looking smile she glared at him for a second when he called her 'honey' but the look quickly vanished. After taking a couple of bites of her food she looked asked "Okay so um how many other kids only going to be living with here?" she asked him with her mouth still full "Back at the orphanage I shared a room with six other girls and some of us were in the same class." She then took several gulps of her drink which happened to be fruit punch.

"It's just you and Me. You have your own room, even a play room with a computer." Sam said in response to her question, "we do live in an apartment though, so there is that. But I can honestly say the girl living next door to us is your age and would probably enjoy meeting you." he added.

Michelle looked at Sam in shock and surprise, she never had her own room before she thought silently as she ate some of her fries. Even back when she live with her mom their apartment was so small they had to share a bedroom, plus I played room with a computer? Not to mention the next door neighbor being same age as her it all sounded so good, almost too good to be true. She thought about asking Sam more questions but she simply smiled and said "That sounds nice!" and then continue to eat her food and drink her juice, probably quicker than she should have.
