Break the Targets! (for finkfly90)

Stepping up into the Town Hall’s entrance staircase, Samus still just couldn’t stop looking at the poster in her hands. All around her were these normal, humanoid looking people, no different from her. But they looked nothing like Mario or Peach. This raised some questions. Is Mario not a human? What is he then? A Toad? Is Peach a Toad? Is that why she’s the princess? Are Toads not humans? What is going on here?!

Samus was drawn from these thoughts at the sound of a beeping horn from behind her. “Lovely outfit, toots!” A thick Boston accent catcalled her from the street. Samus looked behind her, her eyes narrowing at the capped man who waved from the window of his friend’s car. Her face going dark, she stepped up to the side of the road, where the man flashed her a cocky smile and rested his arm on the open window. “A lil’ cold out for that kinda wear though, innit? Want me to warm ya up?”

Stopping by the car, Samus rested her arm on the hood. Her fingers slipped underneath. Uneased by her silence, the man muttered “No?...” And then, with all the ease of opening a tin can, Samus ripped up to the roof of the car, exposing the engine underneath. “Sweet Miss America! What’re you doin’ to my ride?!” The driver asked, but Samus still said nothing, equipping her laser pistol and firing a charged shot straight into the car’s mechanics. Static electricity overloaded the car’s interiors, and Samus merely walked away as it began to spit sparks.

“She’s loopy! Run for it!” The driver shouted to his friend, and both men ejected from the car and bailed into the streets just as the vehicle exploded into a ball of flame, sending shrapnel all around the courtyard though luckily hurting no one. Nearby citizens gasped, ran and screamed in all different directions while Samus very casually strut back over towards the mayor’s building.

Pauline was completely focused on her work, nearing the end of papers that need to be done. As the car outside exploded, the entire city hall building began to shake and caused all the papers to fall around her. As the hundreds of sheets of paper scattered, the mayor felt as if steam was coming out of her ears in anger.

Pauline jumped from her seat and grabbed two members from the private police force and began to have them escort her downstairs to find the cause of the disturbance and take care of it. As they made it to the ground floor, everyone was in a panic as they tried to find a safe place to hide while they screamed with a burning car in the background. Everyone was panicking except a muscular blonde girl that looked like she was coming from the gym. “Officers! Arrest that woman!” She order as the two officers aproached, one armed with a taser and one with handcuffs.

Chaos grew on the streets as cars swerved off the roads, citizens scrambled around and buildings closed their windows, all the while Samus walked incredibly casually towards the Town Hall. Luckily for her, though, there was no need to go hunting for whomever she'd be fighting next in the building - the explosion brought her right to them.

As a woman dressed in deep red emerged from the building, two security officers by her side, Samus paused. "Who the hell are you?" She instinctively asked, but had no time to get an answer as two armed officers surrounded her on both sides. "Arrest me?!" She grumbled, "What for?!" While backing up a few steps, hands in the air and on the ready.

Yes, she blew up a car. But the cops didn't know that!!

"Disturbing the peace, among other things!" Pauline explained, watching from a safe distance away. She may be jumping the gun but this woman does look extremely suspicious, she's also armed. She'll bring in some witnesses to confirm but Samus did catch her at a bad time. Don't make this harder for yourself!" Pauline said as the officers continued to approach gaining distance.

Samus' brow furled angrily. 'Disturbing the peace?' After several accounts of animal extinction and planet explosions, that was the last thing she wanted to go jail for. If Mario's world even had jails... they'd probably just jump on an axe and make her fall into lava or something.

"Innocent until proven guilty." Samus narrowed her eyes, but slid her foot back, taking a defensive stance as she eyed both the cops closing in on her. "But sure, I can really disturb the 'peace' if you want."

"I've had enough..." Pauline sighed in frustration before gesturing towards the woman. "Get her!" She ordered as the officers were now in arms reach.

"Put your hands behind your back!" One of them ordered, turning on her taser while the other was right next to her with the handcuffs.

Her nose twitching, Samus slit her eyes at both the two cops coming closer. A part of her was on the fence about fighting them, since it was really the lady in red she had a problem with. But, they were in her way, so alas, they had to be beaten down too.

"Nice taser." She commented. Quickly, her hand shot to her hip and pulled out her own pistol, charging an electric shock that she blasted the cop straight in the chest with. "Mine's bigger." She snarked, before turning right back around and throwing a roundhouse kick straight for the second cop's head.

"G-Gah!" The first cop dropped her taser as she gasped and instinctively shook from the effects of the electric blast, falling to her knees and onto the floor. The second cop was sent flying into a nearby wall from the force, dropping the handcuffs at Samus' feet. This left her and the mayor alone. Pauline let out an audible gulp as she backed up, trying to pull out her phone from her tight pants.

With both cops incapacitated nearby, Samus re-sheathed her weapon as she stretched out her wrist. "Hmm. Resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer?" She counted aloud. "I'm going to win them all, at this rate." With a quick step forward, Samus grabbed Pauline by her wrist.

"We can add a few more, can't we?" She asked. Pulling Pauline behind her, she dragged the Mayor across the sidewalk and over towards the steaming wreckage of the car.

"Ah! L-Let me go! Y-You ape!" Pauline fought back against Samus' stone hard grip, kicking the woman with her heel in an attempt to break free but it was no use. With her officers down, there was nothing she could do against the much stronger woman.
