Perhaps the mantra of 'shoot first, look later' wasn't the brightest, especially when the opponent she was so on edge about came out of the clearing... and was proven just to be another little girl. Samus' shoulders slumped, feeling a judgmental glare fall on her from behind. She shot a look over her shoulder, and sure enough, Whispy was giving her quite the scowl.

"Oh, mind your own business-" Samus spat back at him, totally unprepared as something came at her from afar - splatting against her side and leaving a wet mark on her hip as she thrashed backwards to see what it was! Too many bad memories of dealing with Inkling... and she knew from experience that paint did NOT come out of her Zero Suits easily. So why, pray tell, was there now a big, red sludge mark on her side?!

"Hey!" Samus growled, glaring up at the kid who was now on her face, for some reason. "Kid!" She hissed while marching over.

Adeleine groaned as rubbed her head lightly, wincing as the sudden fall gave her quite the headache. Before she could realize how much trouble she was about to be in, she looked down at the ground crawled towards her precious wooden palette board and held it close with a small smile, seemingly forgetting Samus was even there

A looming shadow would fall over the little girl...

“Hey!” Samus waved her hands above Adeleine, growing more frustrated with the kid by the minute. Reaching down, she grabbed the scruff of the girls shirt and pulled her up by force, standing her on two feet as she stepped back and crossed her arms. “What’s wrong with you? Not watching where you stepped?” She growled, showing the paint blotch on her side. “Or... did you paint me on purpose?!”

Adeleine hugged and held her palette tightly with a smile, her attention only falling towards Samus as she was grabbed by her shirt and lifted up into the air. She let out a little squeak as she was lifted up so hard that her shirt almost ripped. "I-I'm sorry... I wanted to say hi..."

"..." Samus' eyes narrowed as she thought about Adeleine's excuse... but realized after long enough that she was acting a little impulsively. Three world's worth of fights would do that to her. So with a sigh, she relaxed her expression and knelt down, patching some of the gap between their heights. "It's fine. Just watch where you're going next time." She nodded. The more she thought about it, she could use a guide around here, though. "...you think you can help show me around?"

Adeliene smiled happily as she was asked to lead the bounty hunter around her planet to show her around. She grabbed her battle scarred hand and pulled her in a direction towards a nearby cave. "You promise you're not mad at me?"

"Kid. I'm always mad." Samus simply responded back as she was strung along the way, not really caring where she was being taken at this point since it's not like she really needed to have skepticism over the inhabitants of Popstar. Or at least so she'd think...

The bushes before her and Adeleine rumbled for mere seconds - and from the shrubbery emerged a clown-hatted jester, no arms yet bouncing feet and disembodied hands as they hopped to and fro! And from seemingly thin air, they'd summon a lit bomb, the fuse burning down quickly...

"Get back!" Samus hissed at the little girl, stepping in front of her as her pistol pointed out and at the ready!

Adeleine paid little mind to Samus' comment, skipping along with a huge smile as she pulled her along. It wasn't until the new foe appeared from seemingly out of nowhere that the girl jumped up in the air in surprise. As she saw Samus get into a battle ready stance, Adeleine was now motivated as she also got into a battle ready stance. After a few seconds, she closed her eyes and began swinging her brush wildly as she got paint everywhere.

Static sparks already began to glow from the inside of Samus' weapon, yet before she could fire her round off, her target vanished behind a veil of flashing colors once paint rained from above! "What-?!" She grumbled, firing a static blast into nothingness... just to peak as a bomb flew her way.

"Damn it!" She thought to herself, but there wasn't any time. Throwing herself forward, she snatched Adeleine right off the ground and rolled the both of them to safety as a deafening 'BOOM!' destroyed the landscape where they once stood. And of course, in doing so, Samus came up with a fresh deluge of paint dripping off her body.

"..." Samus mumbled as she stood up, paint dripping out of her vision. Nonchalantly, she grabbed Adeleine, lifted her up, and hooked the scruff of her collar onto one of the many branches hanging overhead, leaving her to dry like a coat hanger while she went off to deal with the bomber.

Adeleine blinked as the the girl was also covered in a coat of bright red paint. That definitely didn’t go as planned... Ready to shrug it off and begin her next wave of attacks, she let out a squeak as she was picked up by her collar and placed not so gently on the tree branch. She moaned in frustration as she tried to kick in protest and to free herself to no avail.
