Cats on the Prowl (for Robin Hunter)

Stalking through the alleys of Gotham Cities Diamond District fourteen year old Holly Robinson was looking for Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman. While Selina had been her mentor for quite some time the young teen had so far not been allowed to accompany her on her heists. The girl was determined however to show that she could pull her weight in more ways than just some minor information gathering and pick pocketing. Sighting the girl leaned against a wall. There was still no sign of Selina. Just after she had relaxed for a moment she heard a suspicious clicking noise. She knew this sound only too well. Seconds later a switch blade was thrust at her. The girl dived underneath the attack and countered with a quick kick into the groin of her opponent. Then she started to run. As fast as possible... suddenly she felt strangely exposed in her blue shorts and the thin shirt she was wearing. The panick and fear of her time before being adopted by Catwoman returned along some rather nasty memories. If the adrenaline hadn´t kicked in she would have probably cried.

Well.......that was a bust.

Pouncing from one rooftop to the next was Catwoman, the ever morally ambiguous cat burglar of Gotham City. She was fairly upset with tonight's events. She had disagreed with her ward about coming out with her for work and been late to get her hands on particularly valuable Emerald cat. She had been waiting for museum exhibit to come to Gotham for months. By the time she arrived a certain Bat had the jewel moved. Catwoman was furious she didn't even bother to snatch anything else.She was going to have been stricter with her little girl. She could tolerate many things, but being hindered while doing her job was not one of them.

Hearing the sound of sneakers hitting the pavement had lead her eyes to a pursuit. Knowing the head of hair she leapt, heels hit the ground with a thunderous bang. ,between her very naughty daughter and a soon to be severely injured knife-men. heels hit the ground with a thunderous bang.

Holly heard Selina land, the heels of her boots landing on the pavement like a gunshot. The girl stumbled and almost landed on her face. Feeling very small indeed she looked up to her now very mad guardian. "Ep...", she yelped and couldn´t even say "Catwoman, save me!" - or something else appropriately dramatic. Instead she tried to get up and move her butt to safety before the man behind her, or Selina, could get her.

Catwoman turned her eyed slightly "Do not make me look for you little girl." before snapping her head back to the most unlucky man in Gotham tonight. She decided that this was the time for some much need stress relief. Taking her her whip she quickly entangled the man's feet and than raised the instrument into the air, sending him falling to the ground. Leaping over to the man she slashed her claws against the man's chest, nothing fatal, but oh would it sting.

"I´ll...I´ll just stay right here then...", Holly said. She barely had moved from the spot. Wow, Selina could really be terrifying when she wanted to. Breathlessly she watched as Catwoman made her persuer fall and then slashed his chest with her claws rather brutally. The man screamed and then fainted from the shock. "Uhh, Selina? Maybe we should make a quick getaway. Someone is bound to have heard that?", the teen asked her guardian now that they were alone, beeing rather worried about the Police. This wasn´t crime ally or any of the really bad neighborhoods in Gotham...

Sneering at the fact Holly was indeed right she slammed at boot over the man's freshly scratched chest. "You are very lucky you scum, if I ever see this ugly face of your's in Gotham again, there wouldn't be anyone to hold me back." she whispered to him in a dangerous tone. Bringing her claws she delivered a final scratch to the man's face. She picked up the knife from his and stowed it away. Walking in the direction of Holly she grabbed the girl like a ragdoll without missing a beat.

Holly had to look away. While she was somewhat used to violence, having lived on the streets for a long time, she still did not like the tone of Selinas voice. It was very intimidating. She yelped as she was dragged along like a ragdoll, yet hoped she wouldn´t slow Selina down too much. "Let go, Selina. I can find my own way home. Don´t let the cops corner you because of me!", she said, hoping her guardian would agree.

Not having any nonsense shifted to hold her closer to her chest before bring a hand down hard on the girl's covered bottom. "Quiet, little girl." Catwoman clutched her ward tight before making a long jump for the top of the building. She lugged jewels of all kind for years, she could handle carrying a silly little girl who would soon have a very sore bottom.

Moving quickly Catwoman didn't stop until she had put a least a mile between them and the "crime scene".

"Ouch! Selina, what the hell!", Holly complained as she got a resounding spank on the seat of her shorts. She didn´t really feel like quieting down, though. "Can you please not call me "little girl" all the time? Im fourteen, and my name is Holly, in case you don´t remember.", she said pouting as she held on to Catwoman, not yet knowing that she had a spanking coming. So far Selina hadn´t really spanked her, aside from the ocassional swat or threat.... and the chase distracted her from any such concerns.

You're digging yourself deeper little girl. Catwoman thought as she heard sirens heading the opposite direction. She wasn't going to acknowledge the girls behavior until the arrived home. That meant she and Holly were at least out of harm's way. Well she was. Holly had trip over her knee coming when they got home. She really did try and give the girl freedom with all the terrible things she'd seen,but putting herself in danger was inexcusable in Seilna's book.

The clack of her boots and the gusts of wind were the only sounds that filed the night as the became closer to Selina's home. Landing on her balcony she sat Holly down and began undoing the lock.
