The Doctor struggled not the let the rage he was feeling about Harley's abusive family show on his face, as Harley would certainly react badly to such an expression. Instead, he held him securely against his chest, resolutely squashing the part of himself that was saying to cease hugging Harley. While he tended to keep a respectful distance with his other companions in this incarnation, he had ceased implementing such a needless distance with his boys. Humans always needed physical reassurance, no matter how much he reassured them with words, and especially the young ones, like Lance and Harley.

"I know ye are insecure, and I'm sorry to say that you might always be so. But that doesn't matter. We will be here for ye even if ye still can't stop believing ye are worthless. We will always be here."

Harley continued to hold onto the Doctor, sighing deeply and trying so hard not to cry, which was sort of a habit for him when he got emotional about something. He was glad the Doctor decided to hold him, and he remembered the first time he did, was when Harley sat down with him and told him all about his abusive childhood. That night, he felt loved, that he had a family who loved and cared about him, he felt lucky. He looked up when the Doctor told him it didn't matter that he might always be insecure and that they would always be there for him.

He gave the Doctor a watery smile and nodded, pulling Lance gently into the group hug, "Yeah, the three of us...we'll always be there for each other." he said confidently. "Our family." he said fondly, kissing Lance's head and The Doctor's cheek.

The Doctor struggled to conceal the proud grin that broke across his face as Harley was at last reassured that they would always be his family and never push him away. He quickly sent Jenny away with a discreet hand gesture, while slowly slipping his free arm around Lance, holding him as securely as Harley was doing. He was startled and somewhat surprised by Harley's kiss, but was glad of it too. It meant that he was comfortable enough to display such obvious gestures of affection without fears of rejection, as had likely happened with his abusive family. For a moment, the Doctor closed his eyes, softly echoing what Harley had just said.

"Our family."

Harley was happy enough to stand and cuddle with his family, his little brother and his Father. He was really glad that he'd found a family that wouldn't push him away, beat him and call him names. He smiled up at the Doctor when he repeated what he'd said. "Wouldn't change either of you for the world." he told them both and gave Lance a little squeeze. "So, when did you say we were gonna go and look at London?" he asked curiously, pulling out of the hug and walking over to the window to look out.

"It's cold, think it'll snow soon?"

The Doctor made sure to grip onto Lance as Harley abruptly let him go to look out of the window. He smiled to himself, glad that Harley was getting excited about seeing what Victorian London had to offer. It meant that he was reassured, and no longer afraid that he wold have to leave them. Securing Lance against his hip, he joined Harley, looking out into the misty street.

"Most likely it will be the day after tomorrow when I take ye both out. I want to start work on the TARDIS tomorrow, and ye will be busy helping Strax. After that we will have more time to ourselves, so ask my friends of the best things to see in London, as they have all lived here for a good while."

Pondering Harley's last statement, the Doctor muttered worriedly and somewhat cryptically:

"If it does, I hope any snowmen are the normal sort."

Harley couldn't help being excited about the new place, unless he was responsible for something or someone, then he was basically just a big kid which the Doctor already knew. He was a bit disappointed when the Doctor said it would be the day after tomorrow when they went out but he didn't dare argue because his bottom was still very, very sore. "Alright..." he answered and frowned when the Doctor gave his cryptic answer about the snowmen being normal.

"What do you mean? Did you encounter an evil snowman or something?" he chuckled.

The Doctor grinned at this, eyes sparkling secretively.

"I certainly did. If ye are a good boy for the rest of the day I'll tell ye all about it before bed."

Beckoning Harley towards the door of Lance's room, he made his way downstairs, wanting to properly introduce his boys to his friends, as he had not had a chance to do so yet.

Harley grinned back at the Doctor when he told him he'd tell him about it before bed, "Sounds good to me." he answered and then followed him out the door and downstairs, feeling a little nervous when they were lead to a group of the Doctor's friends. Harley wasn't always too great at meeting people for the first time but he trusted The Doctor would tell them off if they said anything rude to him or Lance.

Strax, Vastra and Jenny had been having a discussion when the Doctor and his boys walked in. Or rather, Strax had been having the discussion very loudly and Vastra and Jenny had been trying to quiet him down. They all fell silent at the sound of the door opening, and Vastra rose from her basket-work seat in the center of the conservatory. She strode gracefully to the three of them, before slowly removing her veil, having been reassured by the Doctor that his boys would not be afraid of her, but would be excited that she was a Silurian. Holding out a hand, she spoke in a somewhat regal and imposing voice.

"My name is Madame Vastra and I am a lizard-woman from the dwan of time. The Doctor was kind enough to rescue me from a life where I would slaughter innocents, and made me see that Humanity was not my enemy. You are welcome in my home. Now, can you tell me your names?"

Harley looked at Strax for a moment before then directing his blue gaze onto madame Vastra and he had to admit he felt a little uncomfortable because she sounded so regal. He didn't interrupt as she introduced herself and told them what she used to be like, he winced a bit but nodded. "It's nice to meet'cha Madame Vastra." Harley answered, shaking her hand and smiling a bit,

"My name's Harley, the Doctor rescued me one day before I could be beaten to death by my biological Father, ever since then, I've travelled with him as his eldest son."
