((Should I have the Doctor go back to the TARDIS and find Harley missing, or come across him on the streets?))
Lance woke up to a sense that something was wrong, discovering what it was as soon as he opened his eyes. Harley was not in bed with him, yet he had been there when Lance went to sleep. He frowned, sleepily putting on his dressing gown. Normally, Harley would be there when he woke up, so Lance knew that he wasn't alone. Now, he was gone, and Lance had no idea where he was.

(( it's up to you ^^ ))
Harley felt bad for leaving Lance all alone but he just had to be sure that The Doctor was alive, he didn't think he could handle it if something happened to his and Lance's Father. So he left the TARDIS in search of the man he viewed as his own Dad. "Doctor?" he called out, roaming around the streets. At this time of night, it was quite scary.

((okies thanks))
As the Doctor neared the courtyard where the TARDIS was located he stopped. His bond with Harley was tugging at him, creating a pressure in his head that pulled him away from the TARDIS. He sighed. It seemed that Harley had been worried enough to search for him, and he wouldn't blame the boy for that, he knew how important he was to Harley. He only hoped he managed to track him down before he got himself into trouble.

Harley was getting more and more worried when he couldn't find the Doctor, he asked passers by if they'd seen anyone of his description and it seemed no one had seen him. He whimpered to himself and sat down on a bench, overlooking the canal. He wished the last things he'd said to him hadn't been so ...bratty and he wished he never thought about ignoring him.
Some tears slipped from his blue eyes and he drew his knees up to his chest and started to sob, scared he'd never see him again.

The Doctor followed the pull of the bond, glad that he wasn't feeling any pain through it. If he had he would have been very worried, but it seemed that Harley had kept himself out of trouble so far. As he walked along the bank of the canal, he heard the sound of someone crying. He quickened his pace as he realized that it was Harley. While he was not hurt, the emotional pain was clearly very great. As ever, he moved with a casual grace that kept his footsteps very light, and barely audible. This meant that Harley did not hear him approach.
The Doctor thought about speaking, but at the moment was at a loss about what he could say. Instead, he decided to let his actions speak for him. With one strong and simple movement, the Doctor had sat down in the space that Harley had been sitting and sat Harley on his lap, drawing him as close as he could. Ordinarily, he would have given Harley a simple hug, but believed that he wouldn't mind being comforted like Lance for now.

Harley hadn't heard the Doctor approach and so he yelped in surprise when he was lifted and suddenly tucked up in someone's lap. He looked up, blue eyes wide when he saw who it was, "Father!" he wrapped his arms tightly around him and held him tight, "I was so worried! Don't ever scare me like that again!" he growled, scolding the Doctor in much the same way The Doctor usually scolded him when he did something stupid or dangerous.
"I thought...I thought we'd lost you...I couldn't find you anywhere and I was so scared..."

((Off to bed, got to be up early tomorrow ))
The Doctor held onto Harley, not saying a word until he had finished, knowing how much he needed to release all his worries and reveal the cause of his sadness. It honestly still surprised him that Harley clearly cared so much about him. Even addressing him as 'Father' which he had been doing a lot more lately, it showed how close they had now become.
"Ye know I would never leave ye. If...if the worst ever happened the TARDIS would know, and would give ye and Lance a holographic message. I hope I never scare ye that much again. I never meant to, but I had no idea ye would come looking for me so soon."

(( awww :c okay ))
Harley looked up into his blue eyes as he explained, "Well I didn't know that..." he answered and then laid his head down on his shoulder, "You were gone for six hours...I didn't know what to think..." he told him, hugging him tightly and trying to calm himself down. "I didn't want to leave Lance on his own...but I had to make sure you were alright. I care about you too, you know...even if I give you hell a lot of the time.." he explained and relaxed against him.
"Maybe we should head back to the TARDIS now?"

The Doctor smiled, hesitantly rubbing Harley's back. It was nice to have Harley letting down his guard, even if it took so much anguish to do so. Even though he was well aware that Harley cared about him, to have him say it a loud made all the difference. As Harley mentioned Lance, and asked about going back to the TARDIS, the Doctor frowned and slowly sat up.
"Yes we should be getting back. If Lance has woken up, he will be worried when he finds that he is alone. Let's go."
Lifting his arms, the Doctor patiently waited until Harley had moved off his lap.
