A number of hours later, the Doctor gave up arguing with the TARDIS and went to see what the boys were doing. The old girl had refused to take them to the bookshop, even though he had placed the co-ordinates so precisely last night.
He found Lance trying to read one of the books that was on a low table in the library, and getting frustrated because it was too hard for him. Chuckling at his antics, the Doctor said that he would read the book to him instead. He was slightly put out when Lance climbed into his lap to hear the book, but since there was no way to get him off at the moment, because of no free hands, the Doctor let him stay there. He smirked in victory when Lance promptly fell asleep not ten minutes later, as the book he had been trying to read was about advanced economics. The Doctor congratulated himself on his 'dad skills' as he tucked the sleeping Lance back in his bed. Then he went in search of Harley.
He found Harley reading a book, which surprised him, as the boy normally preferred to watch films instead, the louder the better. The Doctor looked around the room, smiling slightly when he saw that it was completely neat and tidy.
"Ye've certainly done a wonderful job with the room, now you won't lose anything!"
His smile faded when Harley didn't respond to this. He merely glanced at him once, his face utterly miserable. The Doctor frowned.
"Harley, what's wrong? Ye face has gone all scrunched up and down-looking."

Harley felt bad that he hadn't really bothered to see how Lance was doing but right now he was upset and they wouldn't have much fun if he was upset so he decided to sit down on his bed and get lost in a book. Not sure why though because he didn't often read. He found himself getting rather ensnared in the book and he didn't even look up when The Doctor came into the room and said he'd done a good job with the room. He just focused on the pages but didn't take in any of the words.
He slowly looked up at The Doctor when he asked him what was wrong in that odd way of his, and shook his head. He was tempted to say nothing was wrong so he could go back to ignoring him...but there was a larger part of him that wanted The Doctor to know that him not forgiving him after the punishment had hurt him.
Harley closed his book but didn't make eye contact with him. "When I asked you where we were going today, you mentioned me ruining the novel again..." he told him and folded his arms. "Even though you punished me for it last night. It feels like you don't forgive me for what I did and me saying sorry last night and going through that spanking was pointless."
"I thought it was meant to be a clean slate after a spanking. I really am sorry Doctor...if I could change what I did I would...I don't need you making me feel more bad about it."

The Doctor rather awkwardly rubbed a hand across the back of his head, as he processed what Harley had just told him. By Omega, he'd really messed things up. While he was still a bit annoyed that his novel needed to be restored, he wasn't angry at Harley anymore for what he had done, nor was he angry about how he had shirked cleaning his room. Maybe...maybe if he'd done that hugging thing afterwards, if he'd actually said he forgave the boy, he wouldn't be like this.
Rather awkwardly, he perched on the edge of the bed, reaching out a hand to lay it on top of the boy's own clenched hands.
"Harley, it is now my turn to say sorry. I didn't mean to make ye feel bad, I just....I say things without thinking that they could hurt others. Ye are already forgiven for what you did. Ye were forgiven as soon as I stopped spanking ye. Are we...ok now?"

Harley watched him awkwardly sit down on the bed and then put a hand over his own. He looked down at his hand and then looked back up into the Doctor's eyes, listening to what he had to say, wondering what excuse he was going to come up with. But Harley was both surprised and pleased when the Doctor said he was sorry because it wasn't often he admitted to making mistakes. At least not when it came to 'his boys'. He nodded his head as the Alien explained about saying things without thinking.
"Yeah you do that a lot." he answered grinning a little before then smiling when told he was forgiven for what he did, knowing that really took a weight off of his shoulders. "Good." he answered before scooting forward and then tackling the Doctor into a hug. "Uh huh, we're good." he smirked, knowing he hated affection so he was just playing around.
"C'mere, gimme a big kiss." he smirked, kissing his cheeks and hugging him tight. "Aww you're a big softy, Doc." he laughed.

((I'm heading to bed now night night))
The Doctor grumbled playfully as Harley tackled him with a hug, and even some kisses. He still didn't like hugging, but he knew how much Harley needed this right now. Tentatively, he placed his arms around the boy, his tall frame dwarfing him, even though Harley was an adult in human terms.
He also reacted playfully to Harley's words, feeling comfortable enough to kid around with him.
" Me? A 'softy'?!"
The predatory grin returned, as he growled mockingly in Harley's ear:
"Would ye like a reminder of why I'm not a softy?"

(( aww alright ^^ night ))
Harley grinned, The Doctor was like a Father to him and Lance, and he was grateful that the Doctor thought of them both in that way and chose to care for them even if he was socially awkward. He hugged onto the much taller man and chuckled when the man got mock offended about being a softy. He snorted when the Timelord growled to remind him why he wasn't a softy and Harley shook his head.
He reached back to rub his stinging bottom and smirked, "Nope I think I have enough of a reminder right here, Scotty." he answered and then rolled off of him, sort of sprawling out on his bed beside the Doctor. "So I thought we were heading to some bookstore?" he asked.

The Doctor grumbled, for real this time, as he sat next to Harley on his bed. Folding his arms, he spoke in a sulky tone of voice.
"We were, but then the TARDIS refused to land anywhere. I think she was mad at me for what I said to ye this morning."
Sighing, he rose to his feet, pondering what to do. If he couldn't got to the bookshop, then maybe he could do something fun with his boys, to show that he had forgiven Harley. Grinning at Harley, he decided to leave the decision up to him.
"So, what shall we do then? If the TARDIS won't take us anywhere, we have the rest of the day to ourselves!"

(( I'm sorry! I didn't notice this reply! DX ))
"Aww the TARDIS makes a good Mum." Harley laughed when The Doctor said she was mad at him for what he said to him that morning. He watched him get to his feet and rose a brow when the Alien turned and grinned at him. "It's never a good sign when you grin." he teased him and then smiled when he heard his question. "That's true, we could spend some Daddy and son time." he laughed.
He like the thought of them being some little family. With The Doctor being their stern but loving Father, plus he had little brother Lance so Harley felt a lot of love in the TARDIS.
"I dunno what we could do, maybe we should get Lance's input?"

(( thats ok no rush ))
At the mention of Lance, the Doctor suddenly looked decided shifty. He cleared his throat nervously and looked anywhere than at Harley. At last he murmured:
"Yeah...about that...Lance is sleeping at the moment."
He knew very well that Harley would soon latch onto how suspicious it was for Lance to fall asleep in the middle of the day. The Doctor knew that the next few moments would progress with Harley having the advantage for once. To be honest, he couldn't begrudge him that.

Harley rose a brow at the response the Doctor gave when he mentioned Lance and then said that he was sleeping. "In the middle of the day?" he asked and frowned a bit, "Did you read him some boring book or something on purpose? For shame, Doc." he said with a shake of his head and then he chuckled some. "Well, I could wake him up...or we could do something...just you and me?" he suggested with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Ooh! Why don't we go see those weeping Angels you sometimes talk about, they sound cool."
