Snow started to fall as winter break started for the students of Redville university, and one particular student was quite ready to spend the whole break with his best friend and roommate. Rachel smiled, though they were childhood friends, because they lived on the world of Alexis, which was in the Alpha Centari star cluster. The Star, Alexis A, had an unknown side effect on humans that noone doing the age of space exploration could have forseen, it had the effect of stopping the bodies ageing process. This could happen any time between 3 years of age to the age of 12, Puberty seemed to deactivate the gene mutation that caused this, so a person with what was called TX, was locked in the body they'd had when it manifested. the condition wasn't common, but it wasn't uncommon either. and well other star systems were colonized, Alexis seemed to be the only world that caused TX. something scientists hadn't been able to explain yet.

"So I take that to mean you want to enjoy our break." This was their code word for Ryan dressing, and acting, like he was the age he looked.

Rachel nodded, pulled out and started twords their shared home, both their parents were fairly successful, so nether of them had to worry too much about money, their parents had got them a small 2 bedroom house not far from the college they both attended.
