Cotillion and Etiquette amidst the Camarilla {for PS}

Going to a new place was without a doubt nerve wracking even under the best of circumstances. It was worse when you were being sent somewhere that you didn't particularly want to go. That was what was happening with Nicolas Vallier at this present moment and he grumbled complaints to himself as the carriage made its way toward his new home.

Or what was to pass as such, he wasn't expecting it to be particularly homey.

His gray-eyed gaze shifted around as the carriage drew closer, the thirteen year old reaching up to brush back a stray lock of his jet-black hair. "Oh well this looks promising..." he murmured as he gazed around at the grounds. It was a rather impressive sight but all the same he wasn't terribly interested. It wasn't as if he hadn't seen impressive landscapes before nor was he particularly interested in it. There was a certain degree of apprehension that took over as they reached their destination and the carriage came to a stop.

When the door was opened Nicolas rose to his feet and stepped out, the over the shoulder cape that he was wearing swishing out behind him. The way that he was dressed made it clear that he was of noble birth but Nicolas was not expecting that to matter very much.

"So...is there going to be a welcoming committee?" he mused idly, perhaps more to himself than to the coachman.

In truth Valen was awaiting the arrival of his new house guest and once he had seen the carriage pull up the cobblestone path he with drew himself from his study and started down that way.

Out side Nicolas was greeted by a few of the servants of the home. A lithe individual with long black hair and silvery violet eyes came to greet the young man in particular. " Good after noon, you must be young Master Nicolas. The Master of the house is expecting you. " He explained. " I'm Tirin... I'll be showing you about... Please do come in, your things will be taken p to your room. "

"Was the master of the house too busy to greet me himself?" Nicolas queried as he gazed at the one that came to greet him. There was a curious look in his eyes as he posed this question, the dark haired youth seeming to be debating something. "Because if he is, in fact, too busy then I can always return from whence I came."

Actually he rather liked the thought of that.

He wasn't sure that the coachman would go along with it but perhaps he could be bribed with something, Nicolas had already learned that most people could be bought for the right price.

After a moment of debate on the subject Nicolas just inclined his head slightly and gestured for Tirin to lead the way. "After you," he said in an almost purring voice, his gray eyes holding a look of calculation but he didn't give any hint as to precisely what it was that he was calculating in this instance.

Tirin found this rather amusing. " Oh the Master of the House will be seeing you soon enough. He's over seeing the last preparations for your arrival young Nicolas. " Tirin offered before leading him in side. The foyer was more of a reception room that lead in to a grand ball room out lined by two large stair cases that lead to the upper wings. "You're bedroom will be in the east Wing on the second floor. " Tirin announced. " Near all of your classes will be held in various class rooms n the first floor. The dinning room and kitchens are this way... Every one is expected to eat dinner together at the dinning room tale least instructed other wise. "

"How much preparation could it possibly require?" Nicolas questioned in response to that statement, a look of puzzlement appearing on his face. He followed along behind the other as Tirin gave him the overview of the house, Nicolas taking note of this but the bit about classes gained a slight from from him. He didn't particularly like the thought of that but he didn't comment on it out loud and instead just kept those thoughts to himself for the time being.

"And free time?" the boy spoke up after a moment. "Am I actually going to have any of that?"

This seemed like an important detail to know as far as he was concerned and so he posed the question and then waited semi-patiently for the answer. "Also...exactly what is your position here?" he added after a moment, curiosity getting the better of him.

"The Master of the house always prepares Orientation Personally for each and every guest who walks through those doors. " Tirin offered.

"Oh you'll have plenty of free time, Lessons only last half the day and are held in the mornings. Each day has different lessons for you to attend so their are leisurely enough to learn intimately enough. " He walked in to the dinning room and glanced about it was rather empty at the moment though servants had laid out silver ware and the like.

"I'm the Govenor of the home... the ah... head servant or Major Domo if you will. "

Nicolas hummed lightly in response to this explanation that he was given, the teenager attempting to get a feel for this place just based on what he was told. That was proving difficult and he wasn't exactly sure how to take Tirin either, especially after he was given an answer as to just who he was.

"So another servant," Nicolas mused idly, his gaze shifting around the area as he watched the various servants milling about, going about their allotted tasks.

"Well, since His Grace isn't around can I just go and explore the place?" Nicolas asked as he turned his gaze back to Tirin. "I see no reason to just stand around idly...promptness is something that should be observed." Okay, he knew that he was being a bit cheeky as he said this but it sort of amused him and he knew that this was something that adults would say to him if he happened to be late for something so he felt perfectly justified in pulling it out now.

That and the one that he was more or less directing it to was nowhere to be seen.

Tirin pulled out his pocket watch and checked the time. " We have a few more minutes before you are expected with in the Head Master's study I will accompany you about if you wish to explore a little more before I am to bring you to him." Tirin said being quite mindful of the time.

"I was more hoping I could do so without a chaperone," Nicolas felt the need to point out as he watched the guy pulling out his pocket watch. He was getting the impression that wasn't going to happen and so he just shrugged his shoulders lightly. "We could just arrive unannounced and surprise him...don't you think that would be fun?"

Actually he didn't know anything about the guy but he still thought that at the very least his reactions would be amusing if they just showed up. Especially if he liked schedules enough to have this other guy checking his pocket watch the way that he just did.

"We can head up there now if you desire . " Tirin agreed simply not giving any denotation if he would find that fun or not. "The choice is yours young Master. " he offered gently though seemed rather complacent to follow him about.
