"Hfff... I have been looking for your brother for a week now. No trace of him at the arena. He is clearly hiding!"
The minotaur scoffs, advancing a step smoothly on Orazi as the gladiator retreats. He shoots a withering sneer at Mouse, his eyes tracking the jingling bell on his collar.
"Is that so, little kitten? Far be it from me to back down from a challenge... After I spank your owner, perhaps I'll take you to serve me instead."
He turns a fiery glare to Orazi and pokes him in the chest with one thick finger, hard enough to send most men stumbling back. Orazi's long experience in the arena lets him see the shift in the minotaur's posture -- he's probably about to try to shove you off balance and drag you over his knee. The mail office's guards look like they're still trying to decide whether they really need to get involved with gladiator drama, or at least not be the first one into the fray.
"My name is Basar, orc. Feel free to use it when you beg me for mercy. Maybe Wadi will hear your howling and be drawn out of hiding..."
It's fortunate that Tambourin isn't afraid of heights, because the mail building is quite tall. Rather than going straight up into the sky, Razmanna starts to drift to one side once they're clear of the building, floating out over the large and crowded plaza. The familiar lifts Tambourin up with his furry hands under the gnome's armpits, turning him around so that he can study the glowing brand on his bottom.
"I see a visible glow, but still very little detectable power..."
Tambourin feels a tingle of magic over his backside as Razmanna covers the hole in his robe with an illusory patch. But there's a flare of heat and a faint smell of smoke anyway, as the mark burns a clear path to shine visibly out into the world. Razmanna hums thoughtfully and sits down cross-legged in midair, draping Tambourin face down over his lap and gently squeezing the gnome's branded buttcheek with one hand... not an unfamiliar position, nor even an especially uncomfortable one, considering the tiger demon's size and warmth.
"Interesting. It's certainly hot, but not enough to burn fabric. And even illusion magic covering the mark is quickly shredded. I believe I smelled a whiff of holy power when it burned through..."
With a crisp snap of his fingers, the butler makes Tambourin's robes vanish, leaving the gnome stark naked. Actually, if he concentrates, he can barely make out the weight of the fabric still on his body, even as he feels the cool breeze on his seemingly bare skin... Razmanna's magic is mostly illusions, but a powerful enough illusion can be almost real in its own right, and wearing totally undetectable robes isn't really much different from being naked!
One hand still resting on Tambourin's rear end, Razmanna drifts slowly away from the mail building and over the crowded plaza, putting more distance between him and the others. They're perhaps fifty feet above the ground now; far enough to be a nasty fall, but close enough that the gnome can quite clearly see the faces of the people gawking below. The mark on his bottom starts to itch, then prickle, then finally burn with real pain, but it takes longer than he might have expected from the group's earlier experimentation; it seems that the exact distances involved depend on the circumstance, to some degree.
"Eh..." Eugene scratches the back of his head noncommittally.
"Fire god, elemental lord, whatever you call him. He didn't call it a curse... probably didn't even think of it as one, but yeah, that's about how it went. Spanked the living daylights out of me, he did, then made me thank him for the boon! I was so distracted by the fire in my ass that I didn't even realize what he'd done to me until his sons... courtiers... whatever, dropped me off outside town and I almost burned down a field! Gods willing, I hope I never meet that thing again."
He sounds somewhere between bitter and amused, shaking his head ruefully. "But druids? Yeah, there's a few in Thornlash, a few miles outside the walls. Most people don't go that way because of all the dang lasher-trees, but they know better than to grab a guy who's on fire."
Eugene sucks his lip thoughtfully, then shrugs. "I didn't see any of the druids this time, usually they're out talking to trees and brewing flowers into wine or jerking off under a waterfall or whatever, but I sure heard a lot of drums and chanting. Figured there must be some kind of holiday or ceremony going on, thought you might know."

Other than the occasional bashful wince at his buttocks being tested with gropes and squeezes, Tambourin was mostly quiet as he allowed Razmanna to begin the initial experiments. He did nod with interest when the detection of holy magic was mentioned - be a curious nature for a curse, but a worthwhile discovery if confirmed - though that was all at first.
The disappearance of his robe's opaqueness was far more alarming, as he was very concious of people below who may have happened to look up. "I do hope there's a very practical explanation for my apparent bareness, I really ought to avoid trouble with the authoritues for aerial indecency!" Tambourin whimpered wih great concern. He was at least thankful one growing organ was concealed by his position, however obviously it pressed into the demon's lap. He had the pain of the curse to worry about anyway: it seemes more bearable than the first time the burn struck him, perhaps due to being more familiar wuth each sensation since, but was unpleasabt enough to make the exposed gnome grumble to himself nonetheless.
Mouse's words managed to fire up Orazi enough to get him sounding slightly less meek. If only because he was "We're not friends. You're some weirdo I ran into on the way into the city. You don't even know my name."
And as Orazi was attacked, his adrenaline finally kicked in. He dodged the grab with surprising grace as he went low. But instead of trying to fight back, he swiped at Mouse's legs to try and force him to fall towards the minotaur.
"Now, I didn't challenge you and this human doesn't have any right to make challenges for me." Orazi declared as he retreated walking backwards towards the burliest looking assistance he could find, Zaeles. "That one is on his head. And I think he was just trying to trick you into helping him get away."
He called Mouse a what now?! Mouse's jaw drops open out of pure shock...and within a second, it's back in place, his face now set in a fiery glare. Mouse had pride, dammit! And he had to protect his friend Orazi! Or, at least, that's what he would say later.
Point is that his goals shifted. Instead of getting an orc's rump roasted, he has some minotaur buns to burn. And he had an idea on how to do it too...
"A fight? Here in the Kingdom's Post Office? I hope there are some guards nearby to help!" He raised his voice, playing up the scene. He even lifted the back of his hand to his forehead, looking up at the sky, playing a guy in distress. "Please isn't there anyone brave enough to help us? Someone with a boss who will hear about their action or lack of it?"
He was about to keep it up when he suddenly found himself tripping, knees buckling underneath him. He stumbled forward, right towards the minotaur. "Hey, waitwaitwaitwait-!"
There was a fascination in Orfo's eyes as the grumbly man recounted his tale. He had gone from standing over him to sitting on the ground with his hands holding up his enraptured face. His tail had once again begun to wag but since the only movment Orfo did was inch closer to the man it was less obtrusive to others around him.
"This world is so fascinating!" Orfo let out, with the shine of his curious eyes practically lighting up the space around him. "Fire people! Lasher trees!? I wonder what those do! And I wonder what jerking off is!! It must be a traditional thing!!" Orfo kept babbling out and parroting what he heard from Eugene!!
"Wait! So if your a fire guy now!? And you were to spank someone as well would that also turn them into a fire guy too!?" Orfo grabbed his chin and raised his eyebrows thinking out loud.
"Lasher trees are exactly what they sound like. Trees gifted with the freedom of movement to grab hold of trespassers and swat through their pants and armor, to the bottoms beneath," Zaeles explained. "This could work out splendidly though. Perhaps we should pay these druids a visit. However, if they're preparing some sort of large ceremony..." He frowned. "It could mean some sort of trouble is afoot."
His thoughts were interrupted as Orazi backed up their way. Looking around for Mouse, he saw the thief had somehow stumbled into the arms of a minotaur and was calling for help.
"Woah! I didn't know trees could think like that!? The ones I know are pretty docile!?" Orfo remained on the floor with his tail flicking from all the ideas.
Basar looks surprised when Mouse flies toward him. The thief's fall puts his head right between the minotaur's legs, and with an apparently reflexive movement, Basar shifts his weight... and Mouse ends up bent forward with his head pinned between the standing minotaur's brawny thighs, as firm and unyielding as two furry tree trunks.
"Eh!?"
The minotaur looks confused as he stares down at Mouse's squirming back and hindquarters, listening to the jingle of the bell on his collar. After a moment, his expression turns to one of understanding, and he nods grudgingly.
"Ahh, I see. You wish to placate me by allowing me to punish your mouthy servant... Clever, to use my clan's own customs against me. My honor obliges me to accept this offer of truce, but know that this will only last until we meet in the arena."
"Of course there's a reason, young master. If I am to glean understanding of the enchantment placed on you, I must be sure not to miss anything. This spell seems to affect your entire body, after all. But I suppose one can't trust the common folk to understand scientific inquiry... I will veil us from their sight."
Sure enough, after the pain of the brand comes one last step: extreme weakness in every muscle, to the point that Tambourin likely wouldn't even be able to walk if he weren't already over Razmanna's lap. He can still talk, squirm feebly, possibly crawl... but even a child could overpower him like this, let alone the large and supernaturally powerful demon currently poking and examining his buttocks.
The people below blink in confusion and then seem go on with their business, shrugging to each other. Nobody glances up anymore, presumably thanks to Razmanna's promised veil, but the gnome's exposure still feels incredibly public. Furry fingers spread his cheeks apart slightly, as if the butler thinks there might be answers hidden between them...
"Interesting, interesting. I believe the mark is drawing power from your body to fuel itself... Is your current state of arousal natural, young master, or do you believe that to be another effect of the mark?"
"Hah! No, it's not contagious... and good damn thing, too, or there'd be a thousand punks and numbskulls like you running around with flames on your heads from all the butts I've swatted over the years! I can burn a man's briefs to ash when I'm in a foul enough temper, though."
Eugene appears to be in a cheerier mood now. A harried looking man in the uniform of the mail center's staff rushes up and hands him a bulging and seemingly fireproof sack, which he accepts without a word to the man.
"Well, I've got another set of deliveries to make, but I'll be back in the city by tonight. If you want a guide to the druids later, I'll help you out for a fair price... and if you want someone to show you the best drinking holes in town, I'll do that for free! Hah."
A sad hand waved Eugene away as he began to pack up. His other hand was spent rubbing the back of his head making sure he could still feel his skull and that it wasn't mooshy or unfeelable. "Mines not numb!?" Orfo whispered as his head cocked to one side. He them stood up and turned to Zaeles and poked his skull. "Are you the numb skull!?" He asked with the same amount of confusion and possibly even more so.
"Nonononono!" Mouse yells out from his humiliating position. His face is burning hot in both rage and embarrassment- and he has a horrible feeling he knows exactly what's going to happen. And it can't happen! Not after he had just received a spanking a little while ago!
'Just wait until I get my hands on that orc!' He thinks to himself.
"I'm not his servant, dammit! Let me go now!" He strains to pull himself free, but he wasn't the strongest fighter even at the best of times, and certainly not now.
