My Daddy is a quiet man

"Micah!"" He said holding his sons chin slowly up to look at him in the face "I took you away because she didn't want to care for us so it was time for us to move on and find a better place for the both of us!" he said hugging his son closely Once again Phillip had spoken more probly now since the moved in but he knew he needed speak up about that. So he soon pet his sons head again looking at him with a saddened expression.

"You're a liar! Momma told me so!" Micah said angrily as he pushed against him "She said it was your fault that we had to leave!" he cried tears of anger running down his cheeks. If it was evident before it surely would be now that his mother had done what she could to warp his mentality towards his father "I hate you! Lemme go!"

Phillip just looked like his heart got torn in two and stomped on 'She told him that.... Really....' Phillip sighed some under his breath "Micah... I took you because.... I wanted you safe.. Your with me because I love you." he said almost silently as he looked at Micah dead in the eyes with sadness and dead serious look on his face.

Micah didnt really know how to react and just pushed off his lap "Just leave me alone...." he said softly,putting distance between them "I just want to be alone is all...." he said clearly unsure how he felt at the moment

Phillip sighed and stood up nodding to his son and walking out out of the room "I'll start dinner..." He said leaving the room to walk down the stairs into the small kitchen they had and pulled out some meat and started cutting it into thin like strips for some fajitas hoping this would cheer up his son because it was a rare thing when he made this because his ex wife hated them too the core.

Micah sighed glad to finally have his alone time and turned the game on once more to try and take his mind off things but not before tossing his backpack,homework and all,under the bed to be forgotten about,following the simple concept of "out of sight,out of mind" which is how the little boy liked it.

A hour or so had past while he was cooking and he whistled a bit to tell Micah time to come down for dinner since he had made plenty for both of them he even set the table for them both it was a small table good enough for the two of them and there meals.

Micah was actually a bit hungry so there was no hesitation to run downstairs and grab some food,namely since he had missed lunch that day as he had left his in the fridge at home so he had to skip.
The boy plopped down in his seat and took to eating without saying a word to Phillip which wasnt unusual to begin with but normally he said something,but right now he was more interested in eating then talking

Phillip let out a small chuckle as he ate his dinner after the boy had made a mad dash to eat it was a rather nice evening he had just about finished packing while the food was cooking and at least Micah was eating and moving around the house again "would you like something from the bakery tomorrow?" He mumbled to his son not sure if he could be herd over the boys claning of dishes and chewing though this was the man who stayed so silent his boss forgot he was there so Phillip just waited for the boy to see if he herd him at all.

Micah barely made out what his father said and nodded "A bear claw would be nice" he said offering him a smile,if there was one way to put him in a good mood it was sugar....he loved sugar...probably a bit too much but what kid didn't like sweets?
