Kid is doing his best to be in front of the girls brave. Even if slaps really hurt him , he was completely silent and without a single tear.

He try really hard but pain was cruel for him. First tears come few smack after. And after frist his "oowwww" he bit his hand to thought any other thing but not his painful bottom
