A Demon's guide to parenting { Mavrickthemutt
The fourteen year old Gavin MacLeod was sat in his room, eating potato and leek soup by candle light. His Father Fergus MacLeod had passed away just a month ago, and honestly Gavin couldn't have been happier. However everything was about to change when there was a knock at his door. Gavin got to his feet and walked over, opening the door to a red headed, beautiful woman.
"O-Oh---hello ma'am." Gavin said politely.
This woman was a witch called Rowena, and she knew that this boy was her Grandson even if they'd never met. She decided she wanted to bring Gavin into the modern world, and leave him with Crowley until he was---ready to join her own cult of sorcery. "Well hello there wee one." she smiled softly. "I heard your Father just died, are you alone?" her conscience couldn't leave her grandson on his own, even though she could wait a few years and he would be perfectly ripe.
"Aye ma'am." Gavin answered, not at all upset. "I was just eating supper." before he could say anything else, Rowena grabbed his arm and told him he would thank her later. Gavin then found himself falling back on his butt in the middle of what looked like a corn field somewhere in the middle of Iowa. Gavin got to his feet and looked around, "Mother Mary---" he breathed, looking around with wide doe eyes, "M-Ma'am?" he called out, the witch was nowhere to be seen.
The fourteen year old started trudging through the field. It had to be around midnight as it was pitch black outside and rather cold too. If he could find a person, maybe they could help him. He didn't see anyone around for miles, that was, until he looked again and a short man in a black suit suddenly came into his line of sight, just beyond the field, he was talking on the phone from what Gavin could see, but he couldn't hear him.
"H-Hey! Sir?!" Gavin called out and started running through the field, "Sir I---" he got to the edge of the field and stopped when the man held up a finger to silence him, not actually looking at him yet.
"Alright, then we have a deal." the man smirked down the end of the phone and Gavin watched him put the phone away.
"E-Excuse me---sir?" Gavin said, tapping the man's arm so he would at least look at him, "I-I'm a wee bit lost---"

A simple month to young Gavin had been centuries for Fergus....or Crowley as he was know known by and had quickly climbed the ladder in the crossroad dealmaking business which landed him the title of ‘King of the Crossroads’....even if was more of a self proclaimed thing.
Of course even after all those centuries had passed he still thought about that horrid mother of his and was completely unaware of her antics with his son who he found himself actually beginning to miss as more centuries passed. He looked back at how he treated the fragile lad and the thought was a bit sickening but he was quickly distracted by his phone ringing and pulled it from his pocket as he answered it, completely unaware that his son had just been dropped in the modern world in the middle of the cornfield he was standing next to.
“King of the crossroads, this is Crowley speaking. Tell me darling, how would you like to sign your soul away today?” He said before chuckling to himself lightly at how cleaver his slogan was then listened. “You want to ensure your family is financially stable no matter what happens to you?....mmhmm....mmhmm, I see, well aren’t you just a cleaver man.” He said before giving a quick glance over his shoulder when he heard what sounded like a young boy calling out to him as he ran but held up his finger to hush him as he wrapped up the deal turning away from him as he finished up the deal. “Alright, sounds like a deal. I’ll see you in ten years.” He said with a grin before hanging the phone up and placing it in his pocket.
“Hmm?” Crowley hummed turning to look at the kid as he said he was a wee bit lost, but when he saw who it was he felt his blood run cold. “.....Gavin?....what....what the bloody hell are you doing here?” He said looking rather shocked at the sight before snapping his fingers making a warm coat appear around him since it was rather chilly. There was no way this could actually be happening, how did his son even get here?

Crossroads? Souls? Ten years? What kind of conversation was this? And how was this man talking to another person? What was that thing he had been holding up to his ear? There were so many questions going through the fourteen year old's head right now. He stood and waited patiently, shivering a little as the man finished up on the phone and then turned to him. Then, the man said his name and Gavin frowned. He didn't think he'd ever seen this man before in his life.
"Sorry but---have we met?" he asked softly, not meaning to be rude or anything because it just wasn't in the lad's nature. Though, something about this man---the way he spoke---it reminded him of his Father, and he didn't like it. "I got here by--" then a coat mysteriously appeared on him and Gavin threw it off like it was some monster. "Witch craft!" he exclaimed, taking a few steps back. "H-H-How did you?" he stuttered, shaking his head.
If he was dealing with a witch here, then he knew he was going to be in danger. "S-Sorry I had better run!" he said, turning away from the Demon, about to make a run for it back to the corn field in hopes it would take him back to Scotland, back to his own time.

Crowley continued to stare at the kid in disbelief before it slowly turned into confusion when the lad seemed to have no idea who he when Gavin asked if they’d ever met before which was a little odd to Crowley himself before it dawned on him as to why Gav didn’t recognize him. “Aye...A long...long time ago.” He said before making a jacket appear around the boy only for it to be flung to the ground as though it’d just attacked him while crying out about witchcraft. {....Maybe I should gone about the Jacket bit differently} he thought to himself as Gavin took a couple of steps back and asked how he even did that, the little act of magic quite clearly shook the boy up a good bit.
“Calm down boy, it’s just a jacket.” He said with a slightly stern tone as he picked it up off the ground and mumbled about it being a rather extensive one at that under his breath. Before placing a hand on the lads shoulder as he turned getting ready to run back into the field. “Hold yer horses boy.” He said before turning the young male back to face him, hard honey colored eyes taking in his details. There was no way this wasn’t Gavin and the lads flighty reflexes only further confirmed it while also knocking off the possibility of it being some sort of mind trick since he could physically touch the kid.
“Now tell me, How did you get here.” He practically demanded while pushing the jacket back into his arms for him to put on.

"A long---time ago?" Gavin repeated, frowning and looking sort of confused. He didn't recall meeting this man at all, and yet something about him seemed oddly familiar. He couldn't quite put his finger on it. When the coat just magically materialised on him, the kid shook it off and freaked out about it, claiming that it was something to do with witch craft. Gavin watched as Crowley bent down to pick it up, all the while scolding him about overreacting, and the fact it was just a jacket. He supposed that he should just wear it and stop being ungrateful, after all it was a pretty chilly night. "S-Sorry---and thank ye." he said softly, pulling the jacket a little more around his small, skinny frame.
The man then asked him how he got there and he looked down at his feet, wondering how to word this without sounding bat shit crazy. "I-I---well." he took a deep breath, "This fair lassie came to the door, an she said somethin' about thankin her later---then she took me arm, and I ended up out in the corn field." he explained, turning his gaze to look back up at Crowley.
"Does that---make sense?"

Crowley gave a small approving nod when the boy took the jacket and put it on after both apologizing and thanking him for it before the man asked him once more how he ended up here.
He watched as Gavin looked down at his feet thinking for a bit before finally bringing his gaze to meet Crowley’s who was waiting patiently (though it was starting to run thin) for the kid to explain then listened closely as he began to talk about how some lady had shown up and said he’d thank her later and before he knew it he was in the middle of the cornfield. This of course would have sounded completely crazy and be the result of either drugs or alcohol, but he knew Gavin did neither of those which left one possibility.
“Tell me Gavin, did this fair lass have red hair and an annoyingly cheerful voice.” He asked while thinking of his own mother who would no doubt do something like this.

"Aye she did." Gavin answered when Crowley asked if this lass had red hair and an annoyingly cheerful voice. Of course, Gavin had no idea the woman had been his Grandmother, and that she was a witch. He was a simple boy from a small town in Scotland, the thought never even occurred to him. The boy then watched as this man uttered a string of curses and his temper seemed to rise. Gavin didn't think that sticking around would be a good idea right now.
When Crowley had his back turned, the young boy decided he would sneak off. He knew what happened when men got angry----they hit kids. Of course, Gavin wouldn't be able to get very far because he wouldn't know where he was going and Crowley was a demon, so he would be able to appear in front of him in seconds.
Which apparently seemed to happen and Gavin jumped back in fright when the man just appeared right in front of him, "Gah!" he squeaked and when asked what he thought he was doing, the boy reeled his foot back and gave Crowley's shin a pretty pathetic kick. "G-Go away!" he squeaked, trying to be intimidating.

Crowley felt his blood began to bubble under the surface when the lad confirmed that the lass who’d brought him here had both red hair and an annoyingly cheerful voice which only pointed to one person, the very one he suspected and that would his mother.....Rowena. The crossroads king turned his back to Gavin as he muttered swear after swear under his breath making it very clear he did not like who’d brought his son to the modern world, let alone drop him in the middle of the corn field. The man was caught up in his own anger he didn’t even notice the kid sneaking away though it wasn’t like he could get very far since Crowley was a demon and could just teleport at will wherever he wanted.....well as long as there were no wardings of course.
After a few moments Crowley composed himself and turned around only to see Gavin a good distance away “Bloody moron is going to get himself killed, especially out here.” He mumbled to himself because appearing directly in front of Gavin “And just what exactly do you think your doing?” He asked only to be weakly kicked in the shin while being practically squeaked at to go away. “Oh I am just so rattled with fear.” He said a bit sarcasticly before wiping the dust from his pant leg where Gavin had kicked him. “Now you can either come with me or you know, freeze, starve, or be mauled to death by whatever may be lurking in the dark.” He said “The choice is yours.”

Gavin watched as Crowley simply dusted off his pant leg and then told him he could either go with him or freeze and starve out here on his own. Instinctively he looked around himself and then moved closer to Crowley since he was a child and he needed that security from a kind adult. "O-Okay---aye, I'll go with ye." he answered and no sooner than he did, the two of them appeared in the middle of a rather lavish looking apartment suite that sort of looked like part of a castle. It was old fashioned with a large fire place and armour on the walls, but the interior was all modern.
"H-How did you?" he asked, watching as the man walked over to the fire place and poured himself a glass of that same amber liquid his Father would drink. The boy stood there in the middle of the room, not really sure what to do. This man was intimidating and Gavin didn't think that pissing him off would be a good thing, and his Father always said he pissed him off with just being alive---so standing still and pretending he didn't exist seemed like a good option.

The man gave an amused chuckle as the lad look around himself nervously before moving closer while agreeing to go with Crowley, “Smart lad.” He said and with that transported the two of them to his lavish apartment suite, the walls decorated and massive fireplace held old relics such as armor and shields and even a few ancient looking weapons that looked as though they’d not been used for centuries, one being that of Excalibur it’s self sitting neatly in a glass case lined with felt and strips of led lights. Aside from the walls the rest of the massive room held a more modern tone and design with a massive flat screen Tv mounted on the wall along with a few other pieces of technology that would been completely foreign to his son.
“Do what?” He asked as he poured himself a glass of his beloved amber liquid then looked at the lad, “Oh, The same way I made that jacket appear lad.” He said taking a seat in his expensive massaging recliner then sipped his drink. “Any other questions or are you just gonna stand there with your mouth open.” He asked
