Lucian raised an eyebrow, "you've never seen a pensieve before?" he asked before waving his hand over it and the water rippled before images started to play over the water's surface.

"It's a deceive used to replay memories that through magics can be placed inside to be viewed" Lucien explained, "though this is only a small one, it can only play back five minutes of memories at most" he explained as the the memories of his his last class faded from the water.

"it's a handy little tool to have for reviewing classes and helping to segments your thoughts to think them through" he said as he gestured to the notes, "makes note taking easier too, when you can pause and rewind the class" he smirked

Maya stared on wonder at the device and all the floating memories held therein. "Their quite rare aren't they? I've heard of them but I didn't think-" She stopped herself awakrdly and took a bite out of her protein bar, she'd been about to say "I didn't think Demons used such tools" which was ill informed of her, and bought into the notion that demons were largely schemers with raw power and little to no aesthetic or ingenuity behind their actions. "I mean...It's a human tool traditionally isn't it?

Finishing her first blood packet quickly she took her time with the second, awkwardly shifting her position a couple of times, keeping her knees together tightly as she still lacked any underwear under her skirt. She chewed her protein bar slowly, trying not to be shy and to ask him more about himself, now that she was eating, her appetite was voracious and she found it hard to ignore the sweet smell of his blood.

Lucien smirked, "yes, they are, but they can be used by all, and I tend to use every advantage I can get my hands on to use to better myself, this is just one of them, and while it was originally a human tool, there is no denying how useful it can be" he explained as he took another piece of his meal into his mouth.

His gaze settled on her for a few moments, he had noticed how her complexion and appearance had greatly recovered as the began eating and surmised that it must have been a while since her last feed, he also saw the way she shifted and he smirked remembering the reason as to why that was, and also what she had said prior to him smelling good and then glanced at the blood packets, surely they wouldn't be enough to sustain her half blood or not.

Maya looked up at him suddenly a thought occurring to her hadn't considered before. "Do you...get rid of memories that way? I mean...what if you had a terrible, horrible memory, one you didn't want to carry around anymore...could you take it out and leave in the pensive...maybe forever?"

There was something happening here, Maya's dealing with demons had been brief, and without failing, almost always unpleasant, but sitting there in the cool courtyard with Lucien she felt not only a intense attraction to his scent and power, common senses a vampire detected to decided friend from foe, she felt a attraction to him pure and physical, she had never asked a boy out before, but was strongly considering it before the pensive question had come up, was it just her blood-lust getting away with her? Or was it some kind of demon's trick?

"There you two are! I've got bad news, you might not even be able to go back to your dorms tonight!"

Moving toward them on swift feet Kalani was approaching, her skirts billowing at her knees, the small shoot of green flame at the stump of her neck blazing bright, her head still cradled in her arms, she was carrying a duffel bag on one shoulder and her bookbag in the other, tears of anger standing in her eyes. "It's that no account Elven xenophobe Astrid, I know it is!" She came to Lucien's table and set her head on the table top to look at them both. With her head stable, she let her body fidget, and it did with intense anger, tapping it's foot gesticulating frustration with its hands, the fire growing larger and hotter as she spoke.

"I ducked back to my dorm to check on a spare choker, its a pain to carry my head everywhere! And i find them throwing my stuff out in the hall, and moving out the furniture, they've evicted me for fighting with a student on campus! They said I could appeal it, but the judgement was effective immediately and I have to try and get everything out by today! I'd go check your rooms for sure!"

Maya shrugged a little, a defeated gesture. "I couldn't even afford a campus dorm room, I commute from...f-from home." Kalani looked surprised at Maya' words and sighed "Even so, I don't know what I can do, I can begin the journey back home till tomorrow, but I don't want to, I want to find some proof that evil she-bitch was behind us, and make her eat her words...

Lucien raised an eyebrow at the question before he simply shook his head, "no it's only a copy of your memories you put in there, your real memories stay in here" he said as he tapped his head with his chop sticks.

Lucien regarded Maya for but a moment as he looked at her, there was no denying her obvious good looks and beauty, she was very cute, and his demonic lustful nature was whispering in his mind to take her, claim her as his own, that he was stronger, she should belong to him such is the demonic way of greed, to have everything. but he simply looked back to his notes and food as he forced the thoughts down, he unlike his pure-blooded counterparts could fight against his primal desires for such things, such was the power of having a soul.

Lucien's head looked up when he heard Kalani's voice and saw the girl approach in an apparent rage. Before she sat down and explained what happened, about being kicked out of the dorms.

Lucien raised an eyebrow when he heard of how Maya commuted from her home every day, something he hadn't expected, but there was something in her tone that made it hard for him to believe it was that simple.

He shrugged himself, "The dorms are of no concern of mine, I live alone, off campus in a house I own," he said with a uncaring smirk, "if you both wanted to I could offer you both rooms there." he offered, "It would save you the trip to and from home every day Maya, and it would give you a place to stay till you can appeal the eviction decision, maybe even get that "evil she-bitch" evicted herself if you can" he smirked

Kalani blinked in surprise at the offer, her body which had been going through various angry gesticulations suddenly stopped and somehow managed to look nervous and shy despite the lack of a head. "That's...rather irregular Lucien, if your serious, I could contribute to the room and board, I imagine your rates would be cheaper then the university's." She laughed self consciously at the thought, perhaps a little too shrilly, it was obvious she was pleased with the idea but both apprehensive and nervous. Lucien was a demon after all, this could be some kind of perverted ploy...but he seemed the perfect gentlemen thus far...did such a demon exist? Half demon Kalani, or would you want everyone judging you by the actions of your father?

Maya's mouth dropped open in shock and all the blood she had been drinking rushed to her head as she blushed deeply. "B-b-but Mr. Lucien! T-that's very nice of you...B-but I don't have much money...I couldn't pay you back for the kindness, and I already need to pay you back for the book." Tears were actually creeping into the little blonde vampires eyes as she stared at him hands clasped apologetically in front of her. "I-I'm not borrower or a begger Mr Lucien, so I don't know how I could accept such a generous offer!"

Kalani's eyes narrowed at the smaller girls outburst, now here was someone Kalani didn't trust, she didn't even act like a typical vampire, and she didn't believe the helpless waif scenario the blonde had set up for herself for a minute. "Laying it on a little thick aren't you? Lucien is merely offering a solution to a problem that has now become all three of ours because of a incident you were in the middle of this morning." Maya gasped at Kalani's retort realizing the Dullahan was entirely accurate in her summary of the situation.

She quickly stepped off the chair and went down on both knees bowing before Lucien. "She's right, I'm sorry for being such a hand full this morning and getting you involved in my problems. Please forgive me?" She then quickly scooted around to face Kalani and bowed in the same manner, head down almost to the floor. "P-please forgive me as well Miss Kalani?

As fate would have it, another strong gust of wind pushed its way through the courtyard at that point and Maya, whose back had been facing Lucien shrieked as her skirt flew up exposing her bottom again.

Lucien chuckled as he finished the last of his sushi, and shook his head, "nonsense I wouldn't ask for any kind of monitory payments, I hardly have need of any given that I'm already well off in such area's and would find no use for it," he waved them off, "rooms are free of charge, same with the hot meals there, though I think most will be take out" he chuckled

hearing Kalani's words as she laid blame on Maya for the pair's problems Lucien's eyes narrowed as he was about to speak before he got an eyeful when the wind picked up giving him a clear view of the girls bum as she was bend over showing everything to him, he blinked and turned his head to look away with a sigh as he recovered himself as his lustful thought swarmed his mind and he had to force them back into place before he cleared his throat.

"that was out of line Kalani, Maya is hardly to blame for the thick headed arrogance of Astrid and the rest of her pure-blood counterparts, she is as much to blame as you or I are about that incident, which is precisely zero, she has nothing to apologize for" he said firmly

Maya stood sulkily and held her skirt down mumbling about irregular winds off the coast. As Lucien reprimanded Kalani she couldn't help but turn and beam at him for, yet again, coming to her rescue.

Kalani on the other hand had to blush with shame and cradled her head awkwardly as Lucien pointed out the facts of the matter. She didn't know why she felt so embarrassed, because he'd called her out so suddenly, or because his words rang true and she felt bad for acting in her own way, as bad as Astrid. She also coulnd't deny a twinge of jealousy that he'd picked Maya's side. "Your right Lucien, sorry Maya, I...I guess I'm just frustrated with this whole situation, I'd expected university inhumans to be...more enlightened I guess."

Maya smiled sweetly at both of them. "That's ok Miss Kalani, it bothers me too...Friends?" Kalani smiled shyly at Lucien, "Friends, and I guess, room mates if all goes well. I'll have my things delivered to the house if you could jot me down an address Lucien, it's not much, if you have a room to lend, it won't even be enough to fill that."

Maya nodded in return, "M-maybe we can all walk to your house together after classes?" The petite blonde offered.

Lucien smirked, "I don't usually walk home, I usually just teleport myself there with my powers, but I could easily to the same for either of you, or even your belongings Kalani, you don't have to worry about furniture, my guest rooms are fully furnished in case any of my siblings decide to pay me a visit" he reasoned, "if you could have all your things left somewhere we could meet there and I could take us to mine after classes end then" he offered as a compromise

Kalani perked up at the idea, eager to get things settled in one day quicker, equally eager to see Lucien perform some more of this advanced magic that seemed to come to him so easily. Siblings? That would bear some further discussion as well, but all in good time. "Excellent! Let's meet in the dorm lobby say around 5Pm? I'll have everything brought there by then and we can set about settling in for the afternoon. Does that work you both?"

She smiled at Maya "Will we need to bring much from your house?" Maya shook her head emphatically and looked shy again. "N-no I'll bring everything with me, 5 sounds good to me too...Is all this really alright Mr. Lucien?"

Kalani sighed at the girl's constant reservation. But tried to not dwell on it. "It's only temporary Maya, and we all have one united goal now, to stick it Astrid and her cronies." She smiled with confidence at her two new partners.
