Who else used to look up spanking in the dictionary when they were younger? I would look up the word "spank" in the dictionary whenever I had the opportunity. I particularly enjoyed trips to the library, when I could slip away to the dictionary section (always empty) and see the different definitions in different dictionaries. My favorites were the ones that had examples in sentences. They were like spanking micro-fiction for me.

I also used to get annoyed when dictionaries didn't have separate entries for "spank" and "spanking". The use of "spanking" as a synonym for "brisk" disappointed me many a time.

I also had an old encyclopedia set in my house, from the 1960s, that had a fairly long section on spanking. It was as boring as a 1960's encyclopedia entry could be, but I still read through it many times.

Haha, I did the same thing, seems to be one of the most common experiences we all share. In fact I think I made a cartoon about this long ago.

I guess a lot of us are just nerdy as hell for some reason... most normal kids wouldn't know a dictionary if it hit them in the face, let alone obsessively look stuff up in one

Good lord, that takes me back. That's wonderful. I did the same thing so many damn times. Deleting history become a reflex for me.

I ended up being an English major in college, so maybe I have my spanking fetish to thank for that.

Looking through the comments for the comic, it's interesting that just the word "spank" holds so much power to us. I know it has for me for as long as I've known it meant.

Add me to that list as well... in fact, I don't remember how young I was when I first started doing it (spank, paddle, any related term I could think of in my vocabulary at the time) but I had to have been.... seven or eight, no older.
