Carol thought them looked for him.

Carol said.Them,as she sat down,she explained everything about her last conversation with Rodrigo and finished,"....and that was it.Brother did say he had good friends.He even has me now that I found him.So why he said he didn't wish his life for his worst enemy?Why he is so sad,why he needs desperatly a purpose?I'm so confused,Xiao.And I'm also sad for him.I don't know why,but I thought you could understand this more tham I do and explain to me.Please,if you understand,tell me!"

"When a person loses their memory they forget the most important things in life, their loved ones and friends. Without any you feel very empty, and have no purpose. Your brother unknowingly wanted to become stronger, to preotect any when he got any. Without any to set his limitations, his only limit that he thinks he has is at the top. He won't stop until he's the strongest person in the world, or regains his memories completely. Neither will happen anytime soon though."

Carol looked at the ground."But...but it isn't fair!Before vanishing,brother was happier tham now.He would still train,but not like he does now.Why does he have to suffer this much?Why...?I only wanted him to be like he was before....that he was happy,again....brother probably would only brush me off as annoying if I told him that now,but before...we were closer tham we were with our parents...I miss my brother's previous self...." she said,sobbing.

"How can't I feel bad..?And it was all my fault...I lost to the digimon that attacked us....he launched a attack on me,but....b-but......"

FLASHBACK

Carol and an unconscious Palmon had no strenght left to fight.Their opponent,an Piedmon,smiled with pleasure."It's time to join your parents and friends in the next world.Farewell....TRUMPH SWORD!!!!" Carol couldn't avoid it,closed her eyes....and when she opened her eyes,Rodrigo was in front of her,having recieving the blown that was meant for her!"Brother!!!" she yelled,and Piedmon said,"What...you want to die that badly?" Rodrigo gave a smirk and vanished,suddently grabbing him from behind and focusing all his energy.Piedmon was scared by this."Y-you're crazy?!With this energy,we'll both...." he started,but Rodrigo said,"I don't intend to go to hell alone....I'll make you my traveling companion,Piedmon!Yes....a travel to our death!!!" A big explosion was made with Rodrigo's energy,that for some reason was thrown into a digiportal,badly injured,but alive....Carol cried,but noticed the digiportal as it closed,and knew that her brother may have survived...

END FLASHBACK

"...S-so,you see....he knew that in a normal fight,he would lose again to him,instead....he decided to spend all his energy,sacrifice his life to save me,all because I was too weak to win.....and in a way,my brother died....leaving behind this new,cold,unfeeling self of him.....only because.....because I lost....my fault....'

Xiao frowned and said, "Piedmon! It's not your fault at all Carol. I've screaped with Piedmon before. He isn't that tuff to me now, but back then I faced him alone. If Rei hadn't jumped in and saved me..... lets just say I'm very grateful to her. Don't blame yourself. It's all Piedmon's fault, not yours."
