Digital Punishments (for Bakara)

Kari was in a panic. Just a few days before Christmas as she was at risk of being in big trouble. With school out for Christmas holiday and her mom out to meet with her teachers, Tai was left in charge of watching her. Since she was kind to Tai, she was allowed to go hang out with TK at the arcade with the promise she would be home before dinner. Unfortunately, they both lost track of time as they both sprinted to Kari’s house to apologize. They noticed Sora’s bike outside, making it clear he had a friend over too. Kari opened the door and started taking off her shoes to reveal her white socks as she was still bundled in a pink heavy winter coat and fluffy white earmuffs. “So sorry! I lost track of time!” She called out from the hallway

TK followed Kari in the hallway, as he just stood there, silent.

Tai poked his face out of the kitchen towards the hallway, the phone in his hand. He wore his blue winterjacket and a matching blue winter cap.

"About time. We just wanted to go out to search for you. Where have you been?" he asked in a clearly angry tone.

“I told you, I went to meet TK at the arcade.” Kari said as she saw Sora peaking her head in from the kitchen, without her hat as she was wearing a red Christmas sweater and jeans. She came over to help Tai cook dinner but now she’s about to get herself wrapped up into something different. “I’m sorry Tai…” Kari said as she stood there with her hands in her jacket pocket

"So you two lost track of time in the arcade? That's the whole story?" Tai asked once again.
TK looked down at the floor, and nodded shyly.


"Kari, you are nine. You should be old enough to use a watch." he continued to scold her.

“It’s not my fault! We were just winning so many tickets that we couldn’t stop playing!” Kari complained as her stomach began to growl. She knew it wasn’t a good excuse but it was the truth. “Did you make burgers and fries? My favorite!” She said as she tried to push past Tai while taking her gloved off

[Bakara]

The boy grapped her wrist while she just wanted to enter the kitchen. "Not that fast, Kari. You promised me that you would be here in time. I was worried about you." His face went back to TK. "About both of you, since I promised your brother to keep an eye on you."
"I'm sorry." said the young, blond boy, while he put off his shoes.

“It’s not his fault! It was mine! I’m sorry, it won’t happen again!” Kari said as she tried to pull away from Tai’s grip. “Now let’s just eat, I’m starving!” She said as she tried to lead him in the direction of the food

"Sorry won't cut it." answered Tai, while he held his sister in place. "I'm responsible for you this evening. And I won't ignore that you came over half an hour late. We can put the burgers in the pan later, first you will go to you room and go stand in the corner." he ordered.

“Come on Tai! You don’t need to be so strict…” Kari said as she tried to give him a kind smile but his stern expression made it fade. With a sigh, she stomped to her room and just sat on the bed, not wanting to stand in the corner. Sora finally left the kitchen and whispered in Tai’s ear. “Should we call Matt? He’s going to be upset…”

TK stood in the hallway, a little lost, as he looked over to the two older teens.


"He got band practice this evening. Can you maybe take care of TK while I take care of Kari?" Tai asked Sora.
