Liam was sort of in a good mood that morning when he woke up and found Crevan still there, so he happily greeted him with a 'morning' but then his friend brought up the night before and sort of killed the mood a bit. Liam felt really bad about his friend being worried about him but he didn't feel as if he could make the promise that Crevan was asking for and he told him that much. When Crevan flat out asked why he couldn't make the promise Liam was a little surprised and he looked at a loss for words before shrugging, since he didn't really know why he thought he couldn't make that promise but he wasn't sure if there would ever be a time he needed to sneak into the house and take money from his dad again. He listened as Crevan went on to sort of plead with him and then outlined why it was so important and after a few long moments of thinking about it he finally answered. "Okay, I promise not to sneak in and steal from my dad again...or Keegan." he said, being specific about what he was promising since he wanted to make sure he was only promising not to do what he'd done the night before again, not promising never to steal from Ian again because he was pretty positive he'd have to do that at some point or another he'd just do it when the man wasn't home or something instead.

Promises were something that Crevan had always taken very seriously after a traumatizing event with his aunt who actually more or less raised him from the time that he was six months old until he was three, the little boy having spent the first six months of life in the hospital due to being born premature. So he felt that the only way to ensure that Liam wouldn't put himself in danger again was to get the boy to promise that he wouldn't do something like what the two of them had done again so when Liam said that he couldn't the little guy pressed the issue. Normally Crevan wouldn't press the issue this much but he was really worried about his friend so he tried to get him to promise and was pleased when Liam promised, the little guy not even noticing the very specific way that it was worded. Unfortunately for the two of them there was someone else listening who did notice the way that it was worded and wasn't at all happy about it. "So the two of you were out causing mischief last night huh?" Malakai asked as he walked in, having been on his way to wake the boys for breakfast when he happened to catch the first part of the conversation and then he lingered at the door to hear the rest of it. Needless to say the guardian angel was none to happy, his eyes narrowing as he looked first from one little boy then to the other as he waited to see what they'd have to say. It wouldn't do any good to deny it since he'd heard the whole conversation but at the same time there was always the possibility they'd try even so. Crevan's blue eyes shifted immediately to the door when Malakai spoke and he looked at his clasped hands and didn't answer the question, the little angel child looking guilty and unable to hide that fact.

Liam though it was sort of strange that Crevan was pressing the issue as much as he was but when Crevan flat out pleaded with him to make the promise he couldn't say no again so after thinking about it for a few moments he gave a specific promise since that was just what the two of them always did since he knew promises were important to his friend and he wanted to make sure he gave one he could actually keep. Unfortunately for him they have an eavesdropper that apparently liked nothing more than to get the two of them into trouble since as soon as he spoke Kai waltzed into the room and accused them of causing mischief the night before. Liam immediately scowled at the man, noticing how Crevan looked guilty and he sort of internally winced at that once since he thought it was as good as Crevan confirming that they had. He of course was not going to admit it so he crossed his arms and glared at Kai, "No. What're you doing listening at the door anyway? Thought you people were supposed to be all good not sneaky" He accused, trying to turn it back on the angel but he was eleven so the only thing he could come up with was that Kai was being sneaky but that sort of ended up getting him to admit to wrongdoing in a roundabout way of things but he didn't seem to realize that when he spoke.

Crevan was placated and happy with his friend when Liam gave him the promise that he'd been looking for but that feeling was sort of short lived as Malakai came into the room and accused them of being naughty and causing mischief. And while the little guy had had a poker face that was hard to rival when he'd still lived with his father that stoicism was harder to keep up with Malakai, though the child wasn't sure why that was. Whatever the case he ended up looking guilty when the man made his accusation but before he could say anything one way or the other Liam spoke up and denied it. "I wasn't being sneaky, child, I was coming to tell the two of you that it was time for breakfast and I happened to overhear what was in essence a confession," Malakai told him calmly though in the end it didn't matter if the child thought him sneaky or not. "And what I heard tells me without a doubt that the two of you were doing something that you shouldn't have been doing," he added, turning his gaze to Crevan and frowning at his little charge as he added, "And you were told to stay away from anyone who knew you in life so what made you think it was at all okay to go to a house where your father and godfather were?" Crevan looked at Malakai for a moment before he looked away, not saying anything but fidgeting nervously and obviously guilty about the situation.

Liam was a bit of a rebel at heart now, ever since he got in with the bad crowd, so when Malakai came in and accused them of being naughty he of course tried to deny it and then tried to turn it back on the man and he was frustrated when that didn't work. He glared a Kai when the man said he wasn't being sneaky but just overheard a confession and Liam tried to think of something to say to that one but he failed to come up with a single thing he could say that would make his situation any better. When Kai turned his attention to Crevan and scolded him for going near Keegan and Ian, Liam sort of got worried that his friend was really going to get it again for disobedience so he once again decided to try and do something to help Crevan out. "It's not his fault! He didn't wanna go but I wouldn't listen to him and you told him to stay with me so you cant have it both ways!" He said, his voice getting sort of loud as he tried to keep his best friend out of trouble since he already thought that Crevan had gotten the switching the day before because of him so he didn't want his friend to get it again because of something he decided to do when Crevan really didn't have a choice but to go along with it. "SO if you're gonna be pissed at someone then be pissed at me cause it was my idea and I'm not sorry I did it either!" He added, his voice once again loud and angry but this time he was also a bit upset since he felt like he'd done the right thing the night before even if it had been a bit dangerous and he wasn't happy that Kai was treating him as if he'd committed some sort of crime--though technically he had since stealing a thousand dollars was grand theft, he just didnt' care about that.

Malakai didn't expect that Liam would confess to what he'd done even though the child had more or less been caught owning up to it in the first place so he wasn't shocked when Liam denied it, the angel just calmly telling the child that he wasn't being sneaky and had instead just come to get the two of them for breakfast, which was the truth. He hadn't known that anything had happened until he'd heard the two boys talking and then he'd had to wait to find out exactly what the two of them had been up to during their supposed walk the night before. Once he heard it all he confronted them, countering Liam's argument and then scolding Crevan for once again disobeying him, the angel's attention of course diverted when Liam decided to sort of go off on him. "Actually child, if you want to get technical, I told him to stay with you when I went to get food but never once did I tell him that it was a permanent thing. When I dismissed the two of you I said that you could do what you wanted so if he hadn't wanted to follow you then there was no reason why he should have done it," Malakai informed the child, giving him a stern look when the child went on to make the comment about being 'pissed' at someone. "I've had about enough of the language from you, I would suggest you cease with that unless you're anxious to find out what soap tastes like. The fact of the matter is that both of you misbehaved and nothing you can say will change that," Malakai said, his voice holding a hint of warning since he meant what he said about the soap. Crevan looked over at his friend and he shifted so that he was closer to Liam as he said, "It's okay, you don't have to get yourself into more trouble to try and keep me out of it, I made my decision and I don't regret that." The little guy was thinking that Malakai would most likely be trying to make both of them regret their decisions but he didn't say that part out loud since he thought that it would give his friend the wrong impression and despite what the other boy might be thinking Malakai was not a cruel person. He was just old fashioned and strict but he did still care.

Liam wasn't really phased when Malakai was lecturing him, but when the man turned his disapproval onto his friend he got defensive and sort of went off on the man. He was a bit startled when Kai pointed out that he hadn't ordered Crevan to stay longer than it took Kai to get the pizza, since that was true but he hadn't thought of it and for a few seconds he looked a bit frustrated as he tried to think of another argument for getting his friend out of trouble but couldn't so he just shouted the bit about being pissed at him not at Crevan. He was once again startled when he got scolded for that one too, at this point Liam was getting pretty ticked off and so when the man actually threatened him about finding out what soap tasted like he scowled at him, "Pissed isn't even a bad word dumb ass!" he snapped, not sure why he thought that was a good idea but he was angry so he said the first words that came to mind, and some small part of him actually doubted that Malakai would soap his mouth since that was just not something that was ever really done nowadays. "And we did not 'misbehave' you're just an over-controlling jerk!" He snapped again, thoroughly pissed now and no longer even thinking about getting himself into trouble as he responded aggressively, which was a habit he'd picked up over the last year since he'd never bee this aggressive and violent before Crevan died and he ended up alone, he'd been more like Crevan was now. He looked over at Crevan as his friend tried to convince him to stop trying to get himself in more trouble and he frowned, shaking his head. "No, it's not fair you didn't do anything but stick around in case I got hurt." He said then looked over at Kai with an annoyed look on his face again, "He shouldn't be in trouble for looking out for me, that's just wrong!" he protested, though his voice sounded a bit more on the desperate side now than anything else.

Malakai was pretty good at arguing his case so he had little trouble shooting down Liam's reasons for why Crevan should not be in trouble for disobeying him and it was pretty clear the child was getting frustrated because of that. Which didn't really concern Malakai though he did get a little irritated with the language that the child kept using so he issued his threat concerning the soap, the angel frowning when the kid decided to respond to that by using the same type of language and actually taking it a step farther and insulting him. "Well it looks as though you want to find out what soap tastes like," the guardian angel said in a sort of ominous voice. "Alright, that can be arranged child." He went on to outline the fact that the two boys had misbehaved and that once again got an angry response from his little charge, the guardian angel starting to think that he was going to have a permanent frown when dealing with this boy. "Regardless of whether you want to admit to it and regardless of what your motives might have been the fact remains that you did something that you should not have done, which is misbehavior," Malakai lectured him, looking the child in the eyes and not the least bit worried about the aggressive way that he was acting since the child couldn't hurt him no matter how much he might want to. Malakai's gaze went to Crevan as the angel child tried to get his friend to calm down and he was pleased by that but of course less pleased with the way that Liam responded to that. Malakai listened to what Liam had to say on the matter and he inclined his head to the child when Liam said that Crevan shouldn't be in trouble for trying to look out for the other boy. "Perhaps it is wrong that he's in trouble when his intentions were only to keep you safe," Malakai said in a quiet tone, looking thoughtful about that one.

Liam was just a little kid, so ti was sort of natural that he was trying to get the two of them out of trouble and getting frustrated when it didnt work, which sort of lead to him losing control of his mouth and he looked a bit startled when Malakai said that him finding out what soap tasted like could be arranged and he sort of stared at the man for a few seconds before shaking it off, "You can't be serious! No one does that anymore!" he protested, since he really had thought it was just a figure of speech and he had no intention of allowing it to happen, thinking that he could just refuse to open his mouth or bite Kai if the angel tried to force the issue. After that he went on to protest that they hadnt' been misbehaving and he rolled his eyes when Kai responded to that by pretty much defining the word 'misbehavior' which irked Liam for some reason he couldn't say. He pushed that aside for now when Kai lectured his friend and then Crevan tried to get him to calm and he protested that it wasn't fair, since he really didn't think that Crevan deserved to be in trouble when the other boy had tried to talk him out of it the whole time and he just stubbornly refused to listen. He wasn't expecting that argument to go over any better than the others so when Kai inclined his head and then said that maybe it was wrong that one sort of blew Liam's mind and he openly gaped at Malakai, actually settling back on his butt on the bed and dropping the aggressive posture he'd had before as he tried to process that Kai might actually be letting Crevan off this time. "So he's not in trouble?" he asked, his voice a lot quieter and more normal sounding, actually having a bit of a hopeful tone to it since he really would feel bad if Crevan were punished for something that the angel boy hadn't even wanted to do and just hadn't wanted to let Liam face alone in case something dangerous came from it.

Malakai sort of arched his brow when Liam told him that he couldn't be serious about the whole soap thing, the man just looking at him for a few seconds before he asked, "Do I really strike you as the person who says something that he doesn't mean?" It could be taken as a rhetorical question and Malakai wouldn't really press for an answer but at the same time he wanted to know if the kid really thought that he'd issue idle threats after what happened the day before. He didn't force that issue however and instead just went on to sort of clarify what constituted misbehavior and it was pretty clear that Liam didn't agree with him on that one based on the scowl that the kid had on his face but since Liam didn't say anything on that he didn't have to further address it. Instead he listened as Crevan tried to convince his friend to calm down before shifting his gaze to Liam when the boy said that it wasn't fair that Crevan was in trouble for helping him. Which Malakai had to admit was a valid point from the child so he inclined his head and said that maybe the angel child didn't deserve to be in trouble for wanting to protect him. Malakai watched as the aggressive look disappeared from the child, Liam seeming to be at a loss as to how to react to what he'd just said and Malakai thought that was sort of sad for such a young child. When Liam looked at him and asked if Crevan was in trouble Malakai thought about it for a minute before he shook his head and replied, "No. He could have gone about this in a better way but he was in essence still trying to fulfill his duty as a guardian angel so I'm not going to punish him." He paused at that point to see how Liam would react to that bit of news, curious if it would change anything. "You however still did something reckless that you never should have done, not to mention decided to get an attitude with me, so you're not off the hook." That was the bit that he was expecting not to go over well but it was unavoidable. Crevan stared back and forth between the two as they discussed this and he shook his head, not wanting his friend to be in trouble while he gets out of it. "No, Kai please..." he said quietly, trying to help his friend but not really sure how to go about that.
