Liam glared at Malakai when the man asked him if he struck him as someone that said something he didnt mean, the child not at all happy with his guardian angel right now and he was thinking that it was better when the guy was still just hovering instead of taking a more active role since this was already getting old and it was only the second day. He still fully intended on trying to bite the man if he tried to soap his mouth so he wasn't too concerned with the threat yet. Instead he just went on to argue with the angel on pretty much every point he brought up, but ever time he did he lost and he was starting to get very frustrated at this point and starting to turn into a very grumpy little guy as well until he got to the point where he was a bit desperate as he tried to get his friend out of trouble. When that actually worked he really was at a loss and he quietly asked if that meant that Crevan wasn't in trouble and he actually smiled a little when Malakai confirmed that he wasn't going to punish Crevan, the child giving his friend a sort of pleased look at that one. Then he turned his attention back to Kai as the angel went on to tell hm that he was still in trouble and he scowled at the angel, getting a bit of an attitude again as he crossed his arms once more and sort of debated trying to run off again but he was currently on the second floor and Kai was blocking the door so that wouldn't really work out so great for him. "You don't even know what I did! And what gives you the right to be mad at me anyway, I'm not anything to you" he complained, but surprisingly he sounded more like a whiny child that didn't want to be in trouble than the little defiant thing he'd been before, since Kai continuing to treat him and Crevan fairly was actually starting to have an effect on him, even if it was only a slight effect and not a conscious one it was still better than nothing. He looked at his friend as Crevan tried to plead for him and he reached over to squeeze the other boys hand, "Its okay" He said softly, not knowing if Kai knew Gaelic but very few people did in his experience so he went for it anyway and hoped Kai didn't understand him since he liked the idea he could talk to Skye without the angel knowing what they were talking about.

Malakai could tell that he was upsetting the boy, or rather further upsetting him since his very presence in the room had already upset Liam, but that was unimportant to the angel or, more to the point, wasn't something that he could avoid at this point since he hadn't managed to form a bond with the boy. He had the fleeting thought that he never would be able to form a bond with him but banished that thought a second after it appeared, willing that such would not be the case and not about to allow himself to think otherwise. Refusing to dwell on those thoughts he just continued to shoot down every one of Liam's arguments aside from the one concerning Crevan and that was one that the angel actually felt had merit so he nodded his head and agreed with the child on that one. Which seemed to blow his mind and Malakai just thought that was funny even if he didn't show that fact. After agreeing that Crevan wasn't in trouble he went on to lecture Liam about the fact that what he'd done had been wrong and when the child went off on him and said that he didn't even know what the boy had done the angel gave him a 'seriously' look as he said, "Based on the fact that you promised Crevan that you wouldn't steal from your father or his again I would assume that you stole from them, which means that he went somewhere he shouldn't have been." He figured that should be pretty obvious to the child but apparently that was lost on Liam. It was at this point that Crevan decided to speak up and tried to plead for his friend but Malakai just shook his head and said, "I am sorry child but I cannot overlook it." He knew that it would seem cruel to Crevan most likely but he knew that he couldn't let Liam get away with it even if it was going to be hard for the two of them. He looked at Liam as the child reassured Crevan in Gaelic and while he knew what the child was saying he was going to ignore it and act as though he didn't since he figured it might do the two of them some good to have something that was just theirs. Possibly even a way to vent, which he didn't mind. Crevan looked at his friend when Liam said that it was okay, shaking his head as he said, "No, it's not okay Liam... we both did it, you shouldn't be the only one in trouble." The little guy wasn't at all happy and he was trying to think of an argument to use with Malakai but that was sort of hard to do.

Liam likely would form a bond with kai over time, since he had no adult to rely on anymore now that his mother abandoned him, but right now that just wasn't really an option for them and he was happy Kai didn't seem to be trying to force it. He wasn't so happy that Kai seemed to think he was personally responsible for making sure that Liam behaved himself though, since that just didn't seem fair to the little guy and he was trying his damnedest to make that clear to anyone that looked at him in that moment. He tried a last ditch attempt to argue his way out by claiming that Kai didn't know what he'd done and he was actually offended by the 'seriously' look the guy leveled at him as he pointed out that he'd stolen, in a tone that Liam chose to take as condescending. "you're a real condescending prick you know that, just like that dickhead I'm stuck with" he announced, kicking the footboard of the bed in frustration as he spoke which even he realized was childish after the fact but he didn't like Kai very much right now and he wanted to make his displeasure known. He also didn't think it was fair that Kai wasn't asking what he took or why since he thought that he'd done it for the right reason and that might save his hide a bit but he wasn't about to volunteer that info either since he just didn't want to look weak or look like he was trying to whine his way out of the spanking he no doubt was going to get. When Crevan tried to stand up for him he actually winced a little when Kai said that he couldn't overlook what he'd done, sort of upset by that since he had a feeling he knew where this was going and he really didn't want another punishment from the angel. he looked at Crevan as his friend told him that he shouldnt' be the only one in trouble and he shook his own head at what hsi friend had to say, "But you didn't decide to do it, I did and you just went with me to protect me, and tried to talk me out of it. if it weren't for me you wouldnt' have done it at all would you?" he pointed out, trying to make Crevan feel better about liam being the only one in trouble since even though he was not happy about being in trouble he was happy that crevan wasn't so he didn't mind that part of the whole situation.

Malakai looked at Liam when the child told him that he was a condescending prick, the angel thinking that the only good thing about that was the fact that Liam had actually watched his language to a degree with that one. "I'm not trying to be condescending and I wouldn't be bothering with this if I didn't care, I would just leave you to meet the horrible end that is no doubt waiting for you if you continue to associate with people like those so called friends of yours," Malakai told him, the guardian angel pretty sure that no one had ever really shown the kid what true caring was or at least not in the last year. At this point he looked at Crevan as the angel child first tried to stick up for his friend and then the two of them ended up talking in Gaelic. Crevan tried to convince Liam that it wasn't right when the other boy told him that it was okay but his friend argued with him on that one and the boy looked down and murmured, "Still isn't right." Malakai was figuring that it would probably be best just to get the punishment out of the way so at this point he looked at Liam and walked over to the child, placing a hand on his shoulder and saying, "Come with me." He could and would force the issue if Liam made that a necessity but for the moment he was giving the child a chance to cooperate and hoping that he would take it. He wasn't being cruel, opposite from that in fact, the guardian angel trying to get Liam to come with him so that Crevan wouldn't be around for the punishment since he was figuring that would upset both of them. There was also the small matter of the mouth soaping which he did still have every intention of doing but he would get to that shortly.

Liam glared at Kai when the man told him that he wasn't trying to be condescending, the kid clearly not believing Kai one bit but he was also wary of pissing the man off so he didn't let on that he didn't believe a word out of the angels mouth he just glared at him and then turned his attention to Crevan. The man's comments about caring sort of confused him as well, and he didn't really want to try and process that right now either though he was stung by the 'horrible end that is no doubt waiting for you' bit since he had been raised catholic even if it didn't show that much lately so he knew all about the horrors of hell he just hadn't believed in them until now. So since he didn't want to process any of that right now he just looked at Crevan and had a brief argument with him, shaking his head a bit when Crevan sort of caved and told him that it wasn't right but he didn't get a chance to say anything else before kai came and put a hand on his shoulder and told him to come. "Fat chance" he snapped, smacking Kai's hand away and attempting to scoot away from him but he was too slow and ended up getting forced out of the room by the angel. He of course struggled but this time he didn't scream obscenities at Kai or really verbally protest at all since he didn't want to upset Crevan so he just struggled and let that do the talking for him since ti was fairly obvious he was not happy and that he didn't think he deserved the punishment otherwise he wouldn't be fighting it as hard as he currently was.

If he'd known where Liam's thoughts went when he spoke of the horrible end he would have corrected the child since he hadn't actually been referring to Hell when he'd said that but rather the violent death that almost assuredly awaited him. Malakai could have told the child that the Heavenly Father was a lot more forgiving than most gave him credit for but he was thinking that a lesson on religion wouldn't really be helpful right now so he would just leave that for another time though had the child really thought about it given his Catholic upbringing then it would have dawned on him that if all of that was true then Crevan shouldn't have been able to be an angel given the fact that he committed suicide and that was a mortal sin. However that was another thing that Malakai was not going to go into so instead he just lectured the two boys and then told Liam to come with him, walking over to the child and giving him a chance to cooperate. Not that he was really all that surprised when the kid didn't take him up on that chance, the angel shaking his head as Liam pushed his hand away but not getting angry about it. Instead he just grabbed the boy and hoisted him over one shoulder, ignoring the fact that he was struggling as he turned to Crevan and said, "Stay here." He was firm when he said this since he didn't think that Crevan needed to watch his friend being punished yet again, Malakai turning away at this point and trusting that Crevan would do as he'd been told. Leaving the room he carried Liam downstairs and to one of the bathrooms, closing the door and depositing the boy on the ground before grabbing a bar of soap which he held under the faucet with one hand while the other remained firmly on the kid's arm so that he couldn't get away. Once he had the soap lathered up he turned to Liam and didn't even bother ordering him to open his mouth, instead he gripped his jaw in a manner that would make him open up and once the child had he placed the bar of soap in his mouth, continuing to hold his jaw so that he couldn't spit it back out.

Liam just wasn't going to be able to accept a punishment freely, probably ever but who knows he may come to a point where he learned that it made it worse to fight the same way that Crevan had. So when Kai tried to get him to com eon his own he flatly refused and was a bit started when that resulted in the angel slinging him over his shoulder, "Hey! Let go of me damnit!" He shouted, struggling hard but not verbally protesting anymore as Crevan was ordered to stay since Liam didn't really want Crevan to interfere and get himself into trouble again. His stomach sort of sank when they ended up in a bathroom and he shook his head a bit frantically as the man set him down, trying to back away, "Noo!" He whined when his face was grabbed and his jaw was forced and his hands flew up to Kai's to try and pry his hand away but when that didn't work and the soap was put in his mouth his eyes teared up as he gagged at the taste since it was a lot more bitter and disgusting then he'd expected, "Mnnngh" He protested as his hands once again flew up to try and pull the soap out of his mouth and he actually started to cry since Kai was holding his jaw in a way that made it impossible for him to open his mouth or get the soap out. His mouth began to salivate in response to the bitter taste and he actually ended up choking as he swallowed some of the soap since he was panicking and not breathing through his nose and crying was making it hard for him not to swallow it and this was a sort of traumatizing experience for him so he likely was going to take further warnings against bad language seriously around Kai so he didn't have to go through this again.

Malakai completely ignored Liam's shouted order to be let go, as well as the bad language that went along with it since he was about to deal with that one. The guardian angel simply held the struggling kid over his shoulder and carried him downstairs and to the bathroom, placing him down in front of the sink and keeping hold of one of his arms while he used his free hand to grab a bar of soap that he then held under the faucet until it was lathery and then he forced the child to open his mouth and promptly stuck the soap in. He knew that if he held Liam's jaw a certain way he wouldn't be able to spit out the soap so that was what he did though he was admittedly surprised by the reaction that he got from the child. He'd never expected it to be a good one since he was aware that the taste of the soap left much to be desired however the fact that the boy started both to cry as well as to choke on the suds wasn't something that he'd been expecting. "Breathe through your nose child and you won't swallow the suds," Malakai told him in a firm tone, feeling bad for the child and deciding in that moment that he wasn't going to make Liam hold the soap in his mouth as long as he'd first intended. He glanced at the clock and timed the boy for two minutes before he moved his hand and then took the soap out of his mouth, getting a plastic cup that he filled with water before handing it to Liam. "Okay child you may rinse your mouth now," Malakai told him as he held out the cup. "And I don't want to hear such language from you again, it's improper for anyone and especially a child your age." He couldn't help but lecture and he really did think that such language was inappropriate regardless of the age of the person using it since he was just old fashioned that way.

Liam may have been more leery of testing the angel earlier if he'd known that Kai was willing to go to these extremes to make his point and had actually meant his threat when he issued it, but unfortunately for him that just didnt' occur to him and he thought that Kai was issuing an idle threat, but he wasn't likely going to make that mistake again anytime soon. When the soap was forced into his mouth he gagged at the taste and started to cry in frustration with the whole situation and because the soap was nasty and he couldn't get it out of his mouth so that made it worse for the little guy. He ended up riling himself up and choking on the soap until Kai firmly told him to breathe through his nose so he wouldn't swallow it and he actually listened for once and started to take breaths through his nose and was relieved when that sort of helped but it didn't do anything for the disgusting bitter taste in his mouth. The next two minutes that he spent with the soap in his mouth felt like an eternity to him and he was dramatically thinking that Kai was never going to take it out and he'd die from it or something by the time that Kai finally told him he could rinse his mouth and removed the bar. He immediately took the cup and rinsed his mouth out, still crying a little from the experience and feeling pretty thoroughly sorry for himself at that point and he hadn't even really gotten the punishment yet. He rinsed until all the water was gone and still couldn't get rid of the soap and when Kai lectured him he glared at the man, "You're mean" he accused, in a voice that was somewhat thick with tears as he made his miserable announcement since that was what he was thinking in that minute and he was extremely upset so he said it even though he knew it wasn't nice.

Malakai was not cruel but he was also not the type of person that would issue empty threats so when Liam continued to push him on the language thing he decided then and there that he was going to give him the promised lesson on that. So he picked the child up and carried him into the bathroom, depositing Liam on the ground near the sink and stuck the bar of soap in his mouth. Of course when Liam started choking on the suds he looked at the child and firmly told him to breathe through his nose since that would help with him not swallowing the lathery spit. He was a little surprised that Liam actually listened to him this time since the kid tended to ignore everything he said but he was pleased non the less since it really did help. "That's good child," he praised softly, more because Liam had actually obeyed than because he was breathing through his nose now. He stood and held the bar of soap in the little boy's mouth for the next two minutes and then he removed it, telling Liam that he could rinse and handing the child a cup of water. Malakai watched as Liam tried to rinse the taste out of his mouth and when the little guy told him that he was mean he nodded his head and said in a sort of resigned voice, "I know it seems that way child but I wouldn't bother with it if I didn't care, there would be no point." At this point Malakai figured that he should get the boy's spanking over with so he once again gripped Liam by the arm as he said, "Come on, we still have something to take care of." With that he led or dragged the child out of the bathroom and to the living room where he sat on the couch and positioned Liam in front of him, the guardian angel looking up at his young charge calmly.
