Liam would argue that Malakai was cruel, but he was the child that was currently being punished by the angel so that was sort of normal. One thing was certain he was not going to make the mistake of doubting Kai when he said he was going to do something ever again, he'd just found out the hard way that Kai was serious when he said something. The child choked on the soap until Kai told him to breathe through his nose and he looked up at Kai when the man praised him, but he didn't smile or otherwise react to it since he was pretty thoroughly miserable at that point he just kept crying and tried to focus on breathing through his nose. Eventually he was allowed to rinse and he did so right away and was a bit dismayed when he couldn't get the taste out of his mouth even after all the suds were gone. Once he ran out of water he glared at Kai and told him that he was mean, and when Kai answered he once again got a confused look on his face since that just didn't make sense to him right now and it likely wouldn't until he got closer to Kai and actually accepted that the angel cared about him. Kai had a year to get to know him, Liam had just known the man for a day, so it was going to take time for him to actually accept what the angel was saying. He sort of whimpered when Kai took his arm and said they still had something to take care of, "Noo, don't" He protested softly, digging his feet in to try and make it harder for Kai to drag him but that didn't really work out the way he meant it and he found himself standing in front of Kai as the angel looked at him calmly and he looked back with puffy red eyes and a somewhat pleading look. The mouth-soaping had sort of traumatized the kid a little so the usual bravado was gone now and he was just looking like a very upset kid who really didn't want to get spanked since he was smart enough to know that was where this was headed. He didn't even bother fighting at this point since he'd sort of tired himself out fighting about the soap and it hadn't helped him so far anyway so there really wasn't any point in keeping it up.

Malakai really wasn't trying to be cruel to the child but of course he was more old fashioned than anyone else the child had interacted with in the past and since the child was currently being punished it was only natural that he would be having dark thoughts toward the guardian angel that was currently administering that punishment. He did actually take pity on Liam when the boy was choking on the soap so he shortened the length of time that he was making the little boy hold the soap in his mouth though likely Liam wouldn't care about that since two minutes most likely seemed like forever. When he finally allowed the child to rinse his mouth he of course noticed the dark look as the little boy told him that he was mean. After allowing the boy to rinse he took hold of the little boy and then led the way to the living room where he sat down on the couch and held the boy in front of him. He had heard Liam's protests and once he had the little boy standing in front of him he gave the child a calm look as he said, "I know that you don't want this and that you don't understand but I really am doing this for your own good." Not that he expected this to have any more effect than his earlier words had but he said it anyway. At this point he figured he'd said enough so he gently guided the boy over his lap, baring the boy in one move while at the same time wrapping an arm around the boy's waist to hold him in place. He didn't leave the child to worry about the punishment long, the guardian angel raising his hand and delivering a firm smack to the child's right cheek, then his left, before he started to pepper the boy's backside.

Liam would have been grateful to Kai if he knew that the angel took pity on him and let him spit the soap out sooner than he was originally going to be able to, but since Kai didn't say anything and it felt like forever to Liam he just thought the angel was mean and he made that accusation against him too. He was a bit surprised by what Kai had to say but he didn't have that long to think about it since Kai grabbed his arm and reminded him that this wasn't the extent of what he had to deal with this morning. He of course protested and tried to resist but he wasn't a match for the angel and ended up standing in front of him, looking at him with brown, teary eyes as he listened to Kai speaking to him. Once again he was confused and that was plain on his face but he again didn't have time to really process that since he was guided into position surprisingly genlty. "No! Please dont!" he said, finally pleading with the angel which he hadn't done so far but he really didn't want to be spanked and he was still a little sore from the spanking he got the day before though he wasn't in actual pain the welts still were tender and they were still there if only as faint pink lines. He whimpered a little when Kai bared him and wrapped an arm around him to keep him in place but then he once again tensed hard as he waited for it to start and tried to prepare himself for the sting. He gasped at the first few firm smacks to his bottom and kicked his feet a little but he managed to bite back his yelps at first. Unfortunately for his pride he was already teary before it started and he was still a bit tender from before so it took only about a minute of the man peppering his bottom before he was squirming and crying freely, his hands once again gripping Kai's leg in an unconscious attempt to get some comfort from the man that was currently lighting his backside on fire as he actually tried to hold still and be good in the hope that it would end sooner that way.

Malakai really didn't like having to punish the child in such a manner but he was thinking that maybe it was the way to get him to revert back to the sweet child that he'd been before, the angel having been around the child even before he was assigned as Liam's guardian angel because he was assigned to Crevan first. And he really did want the boy to realize that the path he had chosen was not a good one and definitely not the way to fight back against the abuse that he had to endure. Not that Malakai could really bring that up for fear of causing the child emotional trauma or something. Those were thoughts for another time however, for now he was just focused on taking care of the punishment for this latest incident. Taking Liam to the living room he lectured the kid and then gently guided him into place over his lap, wrapping an arm around the boy's waist to keep him from squirming out of position. Hearing the child actually plead with him was hard to deal with, even for the stern guardian angel, but he wasn't going to change his mind even if the child was being sort of pitiful right now. "I'm sorry Liam but you earned this," Malakai told him, actually genuinely sorry but still resolved. After saying that he raised his hand and brought it down in a firm smack against each side of the child's bottom before starting to randomly pepper his backside with firm smacks. He was keeping a close watch on the child's reactions and so he realized when Liam started to cry freely, the child clutching at his leg, and Malakai was thinking that they were almost there. He intended to get the child to the point where he was crying steadily and on the border of hard crying, before he would stop, the angel not thinking that it would take much more to accomplish that at this point. With that thought in mind he started to concentrate the swats on the little boy's sit spots and upper thighs, figuring this would be the push that Liam needed.

Liam would have been even more upset if he knew that all of this was happening because Kai thought it would get him back to who he used to be, and he would have loudly informed the man that he didnt' want to be that person anymore 'cause that person was a weakling who hadn't even been able to help his only friend not want to kill himself. Of course now that he knew just why Crevan did it he was a little less guilty about that but it was a bit too late for him to just decide he didnt' want to be that punk kid anymore. Who knows if Kai's old fashioned methods would work, they were certainly getting his attention right now as he pleaded with the man not to spank him and sort of looked crushed when Kai told him that he'd earned it since he knew that meant Kai wasn't going to change his mind. Sure enough the angel bared him and then started to spank him, and the fact that the man was just using his hand didn't really offer Liam any comfort since it still hurt and he clutched the man's leg as the sting started to turn into a burn and he started to cry again. He yelped loudly when Kai suddenly switched to smacking his thighs and he started to actually struggle at that point since that just really stung a lot worse than his butt had, "S-stop!" He cried out after a little while, throwing a hand back to try and block and he would have thrown both back but his other arm was sort of trapped by Kai's stomach but he was thinking that any reprieve would be welcome right now so he threw the one back as his breath started to hitch and he started to get very close to that point that Kai wanted him before he'd stop.

Malakai was really hoping that it wouldn't take too long for Liam to get it into his stubborn head that fighting and giving him grief only made his situation worse but with this kid he wasn't going to hold his breath. Not that lack of oxygen could really harm him since he was not for all intents and purposes alive but he still didn't like the prospects of a lengthy time spent refusing to breathe. Not that the guardian angel was really thinking about this at the moment, he was more focused with getting the stubborn child to cave to the punishment that he was currently getting and so didn't really have time to dwell on what would or would not happen farther down the road. When he finally got the child to the point where he was crying freely Malakai decided to up the ante a bit in the hopes of ending this sooner rather than later so he started to focus his swats on the child's sit spots and upper thighs, trying to get him to cave. Of course all it really got him to do was block and that sort of frustrated Malakai but he didn't let that show. Instead he just gently grasped the boy's wrist and moved Liam's hand out of the way, pinning it to the small of his back and then continuing to land sharp smacks to his sit spots and thighs. "just stop fighting me child," he whispered to Liam as he continued to pepper the child's sit spots and thighs, trying to encourage him to just stop being so stubborn so that they could end this.

It wasn't that Liam was actually trying to be stubborn or difficult, he was just a kid and he didn't think it was fair that he was being treated like this so he protested it and fought it, and maybe a small part of it was him trying to be 'tough'. When the spanking started that wasn't any different but it actually took about half the time it had the day before to get him to be reduced to tears and it wasn't until Kai started to focus on his thighs and sit spots that he started to fight it and threw his hand back to block, not like that got him anywhere since Kai just gripped his wrist and pinned it to the small of his back. He did hear when Kai told him to stop fighting but it was another twenty seconds or so before he finally stopped fighting and just gave into his tears, slumping a bit as he started to cry hard and wiped angrily at his face since he didn't like crying like a baby but he wasn't fighting it anymore he just hoped that the man would stop soon since his bottom and tops of his legs were a fairly bright red and were throbbing at that point so he just wanted it to end.

To Malakai it seemed as though the stubborn child were fighting tooth and nail against him and that was frustrating even for the guardian angel who had seemingly endless patience. However his patience wasn't exhausted since he didn't lose his temper with the child or punish him more harshly because he was being difficult. The angel wasn't cruel and the only reason he wanted Liam to stop fighting was so that he could end this punishment since even though Liam probably thought otherwise he didn't like causing the boy pain. Still he was planning on doing a thorough job with this spanking since he felt that if he didn't then there was no point to even doing it and that wasn't fair to Liam. So he continued to spank the child until he was on the verge of hard crying, only pausing long enough to move his blocking hand out of the way, but once he'd reached the place where Malakai wanted him to be he stopped spanking the child and just started to rub his back in a soothing manner. He gave the little boy time to calm down and then he stood Liam up before pulling him into a hug though he was once again expecting to be pushed away. He wasn't going to hold the child if he didn't want to be held but neither was he going to refuse to offer the comfort. If there was any refusal it was going to be Liam doing it and not Malakai. "I'm sorry I had to do that but it's over now Liam and you're forgiven," Malakai told him in a gentle tone of voice, wanting the child to hear it even if he didn't care.

Liam wasn't really thinking about how fair or unfair this was by the time he was actually getting the spanking, since he was rather thoroughly distracted by how painful it was, even if it was mild compared to what he got the day before. After his attempt to block failed miserably the little guy sort of lost the urge to fight and it didn't take very long at all before he slumped over the man's lap and started to cry borderline hard as his bottom took on a reddish hue rather than a pink. He wasn't really comforted when Kai started to rub his back after it was done, he just wiped at his face as he laid placidly over the angels lap and calmed down a bit before Kai let him back up and pulled him into a hug. He immediately reached down to fix his clothes, since it was embarrassing for him not to, and surprisingly he didn't pull away from the hug right away this time. Instead he just stood there and let the man hold him as he was told that he was forgiven and he was relieved to hear that even though he really didn't care on a personal level he was just glad that the punishment was over now. After a few seconds he pulled away from Kai again, wiping at the last of his tears and reaching back with one hand to rub his bottom even though that really didnt' help with the sting any and he still looked sort of miserable since he hadn't really accepted the comfort that Kai was offering him.

This punishment went on longer than he'd wanted it to so Malakai was relieved when it was over as well, if for a completely different reason than Liam himself. Once he'd finally gotten the child to the point where he was on the verge of hard crying the guardian angel stopped spanking the child and instead rubbed his back in a gentle manner for a few minutes while he waited for Liam to calm down a bit from his spanking. Once the boy had managed that Malakai helped him to his feet and once Liam had fixed his clothes the angel pulled him into a hug and attempted to offer the child some comfort if he were in a place where he would accept it. Malakai was a bit surprised when the boy didn't pull away from him immediately and instead stood there for a few seconds and let himself be held. It was brief but it did give Malakai hope for the future, the angel thinking that in time Liam might come to accept that he wasn't the mean person that the child thought he was and was instead just trying to do what was best for the little boy. He wasn't going to say that right now however and instead he just gazed at the miserable child for a minute and then called out, "Crevan, you may come down here now." He raised his voice enough that he was sure his little charge would hear him and sure enough the sound of Crevan coming down the stairs was heard a few moments later, Crevan joining them in the living room and immediately going over to wrap his arms around his friend. It was sort of awkward given the difference in their sizes but it didn't make too much difference and Malakai thought the two of them looked cute together.
