Taking in all of this new and confusing information, Julie carefully pulled herself to sit up, her brand new curly hair falling from her shoulders into view. With a free hand, Julie grabbed a lock of her hair, observing its new color and texture with much curiosity. What he was saying was beginning to make sense to her, however, this hadn't happened to her before, to her knowledge. She had thought that had been the only body she'd ever had. She missed her thin blonde hair already, as it had been replaced with thick curls that would take forever to get used to.
"I think... I understand." she replied softly. Julie had a general understanding that this wasn't something that happened to humans, which was what she had thought she was. "Am I... Are we... Not humans? Who... are you?" she inquired, looking from the lock of hair in her hand back to the Doctor. Hearing that he was on his thirteenth new body caused her jaw to fall slack in surprise. There was something about this that held a sort of familiarity for her, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Frowning, the Doctor let go of Julie and grabbed a chair from nearby, placing it next to her bed. Sinking into it, he replied:
"No, we are not human. You are the same race as me. I come from a planet called Gallifrey, and the people there are known as Gallifreyans However, if they demonstrate a few traits and it can be detected that they have the potential to regenerate, they are known as 'Time Lords', or 'Time Ladies'. Like me, you have the potential to walk through the ages, to feel the flow of Time itself. You may even be able to manipulate it, although I don't recommend you try that without training. Time is not to be played with."

Watching the Doctor pull up a chair and get comfortable, Julie moved so her legs were hanging off the side of the bed. Listening carefully to the Doctor's answers to her inquiries, Julie's face blanched, her jaw once again going slack. Memories rushed into her head... Dreams of life underneath a burnt orange sky, with two suns and tall mountains. Everything had seemed so big when she had been so small.
Gallifrey. That name alone left her at a loss for words. The people in her dreams, the Gallifreyans, the Time Lords, the Time Ladies, even those terrifying metal monsters had been real. Those dreams weren't dreams at all. They were most certainly memories. Closing her eyes, she flinched as she could almost hear those metal monsters shouting exterminate. Shaking her head softly, Julie's voice melted down to a trembling whisper, "...They told me those were just dreams. Some of them very, very bad dreams."

The Doctor winced at what Julie said. By the look on her face, what she had just remembered wasn't pleasant. Patting her hand, the Doctor said softly:
"I am sorry you had to remember that. Even sorrier that you know that what you saw was real. I hope I can give you some good images of Gallifrey. I do have a few, despite the Time War."

Julie had very much wanted to rid her mind of those metal monsters, for a moment hearing nothing but their shouting of exterminate and destroy. Faint memories of the Time War seemed to be her last memories of Gallifrey. Julie tried to think happy thoughts, trying to remember what else she had seen in her dreams, or rather, her memories replaying in her head. Memories such as those skies and mountains, and the trees with silver leaves. Yes, that was much better.
Drawing in a deep breath, Julie put a hand over the Doctor's, offering a polite smile, yet it was hard to hold such an expression with how she was feeling on the inside. It seemed for the time being she wanted to change the subject, noticing that she'd not been polite at all and hadn't yet introduced herself to this strange Time Lord, nor had she even asked his name. "I would very much like to hear about them..." she had so many questions. His name, what this place was, and there was even a question in regards to the Torchwood man, however, she was quite nervous and held back.

The Doctor chuckled slightly as he caught Julie's eager expression. She was clearly bursting with questions, but was trying to be polite it seemed. Interesting, she had more restraint than most of the humans he had met with regards to questions.
"Ask what you will, I am sure you want answers from me."

As soon as the Doctor invited her to ask the questions that she had been brewing inside her, Julie wasted little time. "Ah, alright... First, what's your name, and what is this place?" she questioned, scooting closer to the edge and listening in. Julie was sort of tired, however, and she laid back on the bed, curling up on her side, but she still listened to what he had to say.

Raising an eyebrow at Julie's actions, the Doctor replied:
"My true name you will likely be able to pronounce in time, considering where you hail from. As of now, I do not trust you enough yet to reveal it. Most people know me as the Doctor, you may call me the same. This place is called a TARDIS, a living ship that crosses time and space, travelling in the Time Vortex. It had bigger dimensions inside than those outside."

Julie made herself comfortable, looking like she was very much ready for a long well needed nap. Hearing that he was the Doctor and this was a TARDIS, she gave an understanding nod, a thoughtful look appearing on her features. "That's why it seemed so familiar..." she mused. The Doctor had been in her dreams more than a few times, and she had thought he was just another story until now.

The Doctor smirked in amusement, seeing that Julie was battling sleep.
"We can reminisce when you have rested. I shall be here when you wake up. Stop fighting your fatigue and go to sleep."
