Sasori never wanted to get stuck with such a brat for a partner. It seemed like every time he turned around he was doing something he wasn't supposed to! Whether it be basking in the beauty of his so called 'art,' or simply doing things to deliberately disobey or annoy him... Sasori was getting pretty fed up.

He knew he couldn't kill him. He wasn't sure if he wanted to try, either. The brat actually had his good moments once in a while. And they made a very good duo -- even if he did run late all of the time... So Sasori needed an alternative.

What COULD he do? He could very much beat the boy with his fists until he was bruised and bloody, but he felt that would actually accomplish nothing... And he'd have to deal with the boy's whining all the way after it. He didn't have too much authority over him. He really was just an elder leader figure, Pein was the true boss around here... So he started thinking back to the days of Suna, whenever he acted in such a way Deidara would act around him... And he formulated his idea.

Currently, Sasori was working at his workbench. He was just WAITING for the brat to step out of line just enough so Sasori could whip around and enforce the punishment the boy most definitely needed.

Itachi wasn't like Deidara. He was a lot more thoughtful and collected. He didn't purposely try to piss his partner off, unless in the midst of an argument. Even then, it was never intentional. He just had a sharp tongue that got him in trouble sometimes.

He was outside tonight, sitting down by a pond that was hidden in the forest. He came here often, and everyone knew where he would be if he wasn't in his room reading, or training. He wanted some time to think... So he gazed at his reflection in the clear water and did just that.

Deidara wasn't exactly a brat... well, that was probably a lie.

He could certainly be a hell of a lot worse, though. He created bombs out of clay figurines, after all. Clay figurines in the shapes of birds, and spiders, that he shaped using the mouths on his hands. (And that was the only thing that went into the mouths on his hands, thank you very much.)

Not to mention, his own view of art was very different than his mentor's. His explosions were art, not those silly little puppets he created. And he knew he was right, but he was afraid of what Sasori-no-Danna would say if he pushed the issue.

That was impossible at the moment, though, since the blonde was asleep on the bed. Sasori's bed, to be exact. A few new recruits had come in, and they were forced to share a room, something which pissed the puppet master off to no end. Still, there wasn't much to be said about it, so they now shared a room, and Deidara hogged the sheets.

Kisame, who was Itachi's partner (much like Sasori was Deidara's), was also a little more relaxed than the puppet master. He knew that Itachi sometimes needed to be by himself, like all people, and he sometimes said things that were inappropriate. He knew he would eventually need to point it out to Itachi, but now was not the time. He could certainly wait until the black-haired ninja returned.

Sasori, being a puppet, didn't particularly NEED rest or sleep. It was very nice sometimes, however. He would lie down and rest for hours, not worrying or thinking about anything. Of course, though... He'd have to wake up sooner or later...

He glanced at Deidara in HIS bed. He was pretty irritated at this, but he didn't want to wake the brat up if he didn't have to. Deidara was pain in the morning, and whenever he was woken up. So he left him be, waiting for him to awake.

After a while of sitting and doing nothing, Itachi got up and brushed himself off. He quietly and slowly walked back to hideout, back to the room he was now forced to (temporarily, he hoped) share with Kisame.

"Good morning, Kisame," he said as he entered their room.

A few minutes later, as Sasori worked on his puppets, there was a small noise, and when he turned, Deidara was waking: the noise was his small yawn, and he snuggled under the covers. He looked really cold.

"S-Sasori-no-Danna...?" Deidara said softly, looking up. His blonde hair was falling all in front of his face, and he looked almost like a toddler who'd just woken up. And, even with the sheets, he was shivering. "I-I'm cold..."

Kisame looked up from the book he was reading. "Good morning, Itachi-san," he said, turning back to it.

Sasori glanced over at the boy, raising his eyebrow at him. He looked pretty pale, actually... He quickly put down the puppet he was working on and walked over to him, kneeling down a bit.

"Are you sick, Deidara?" He questioned him. He wasn't one for the whole, 'awww, baby, let me feel your foreheaaaad!'

Itachi didn't say much else. He just grabbed his own book and sat down on his bed and began reading himself.

Deidara blinked at him and shook his head. "N-No, Sasori-no-Danna... I just feel cold..." He'd always felt cold nearly all the time, even he was a little kid. That's why he absolutely despised the winter. "Could you grab me a blanket or something...?"

Kisame didn't take that personally, because Itachi was a rather quiet ninja (even when he was not 'working'), and he kept reading in silence beside him.

Sasori cocked an eyebrow at the boy. Oh, he could most certainly find a way to warm him up... And he technically had an excuse, seeing how Deidara was hogging HIS bed...

"I have a better way to warm you up," Sasori suddenly said, sitting down on the bed and still looking at him, a bit more intimidating now." "And it requires to get up and over here," he said.

Itachi glanced over at Kisame. "What are you reading?" He asked him.

Deidara looked very concerned by the way Sasori was acting, and he was sure there was something behind his mentor's strange actions.

"What do you mean, Sasori-no-Danna...?" he asked, but he didn't disobey, sitting beside Sasori. He hadn't worn a pajama shirt to bed, but he did have his boxers on.

Kisame showed him the book. It was about water-specific techniques, which would be very useful for the shark-nin. "What are you reading?" he asked in return.

When Deidara sat up Sasori firmly, but no doubt a little gently, took hold of his wrist so he wouldn't squirm away, just in case.

"I mean that I've been getting very fed up with your behavior as of late," he said in a low tone. "And I very much intend to warm your backside for it."

Itachi nodded and then held up his own book. "It's a dark fairy-tale of sorts," he explained, "About the monsters that don't hide under your bed, but inside your head." Kisame would probably be used to him reading such Grimm (GET IT? XD) fairytales.

Deidara looked confused when Sasori took his wrist, but when the puppet master said what he was going to do, the bomber was worried - since he was stronger than he looked - and he tried pulling away with no avail.

"Sasori-no-Danna, no, please!" he said. "You can't!"

Kisame was, indeed, quite used to the grim things that Itachi would read on a regular basis, and seeing this did not surprise him in the slightest. He just nodded.
