Sammy sighed and nodded his head. "Yes, sir." He said when his dad told him that he should get some sleep. He let himself be laid down and tucked in. "Thanks." He yawned, curling up a bit.

Dean looked up when his dad came down and glared at him. He just openly laughed at the older man. "I didn't do shit." He giggled, leaning back in his chair and shaking his head at his dad, watching him go out to grab Jude, who was in tears.

Jude clung onto his dad immediately and hugged his daddy close, sniffling. "I... I want him back... daddy..." Jude started to bawl. "I m-miss h-him an' I h-hate him..."

John couldn't describe how much anger he felt toward Dean in that moment, and he made up his mind to leave. He looked down at his youngest and sighed, "Dean chose to leave." he reminded him and carried him back into the house and up to where Sam was resting. "Okay, we're headin home." he told them both, scooping Sam up in one arm, Jude in the other, and the bags in one hand. John was pretty damn strong.

He headed downstairs and went out to the Impala, buckling Sam in with the blankets over him and kissing the sixteen year old's head. "Sleep tight bud." he then looked to his fifteen year old. "You wanna sit up front? I'm gonna say bye to Bobby." he told him and headed back inside the house.

"We're gonna head back, Bobby."

Jude sniffled and clung to his dad as he took him back in, grabbed Sam and their things, and then set Sam in the back of the car. Sammy yawned and fell right back asleep. Judie shook his head. "I'll lay in back with Sam." He answered, crawling onto his big brother, wanting to be cuddled. Sammy yawned and subconsciously cuddled the little boy in his sleep, and Judie drifted off, too.

Bobby looked up ad John came in and he nearly punched him. "Like Hell you are. I called you here to deal with yer son. Dean, y'remember him?" He scoffed, shaking his head and glaring. "Dammit, John. Can't you see he's throwing his life away? He's been stabbed, he's been beaten, he's broken bones. He's drinkin' a whole bottlle o' whiskey a day... Dammit, John. Yer failin' him. An' you walk out that door, he's gonna be dead b'fore twenty. I swear, every hunt he goes on it's like he purposely gets his ass kicked... You gotta do something, John. Right now."

John glared at Bobby, "You got no right to say that. I raised that boy for nineteen years, fifteen years single handedly. He wanted to walk so I let him." he told him firmly, and then he shook his head. "He's already proved that he don't need me, I got Jude and Sam to look after and I can't have Dean round em." he told him firmly. "They're both ready to beat the crap outta him. He aint a kid no more, he's an adult and he can make his own decisions."

"Me disciplinin' him don't work no more, so what am I supposed to do?" he shook his head and turned to leave, "There's nothin' I can do Bobby, not this time." he told him, heading out to the Impala and he sat up front, looking back at his two boys asleep in the back and he smiled a little.

Bobby shook his head, rubbing his temple and groaning. "He's still yer Goddamn son, and you walk out that door, you're really gonna lose him." Bobby said to him. And he couldn't believe John actually walked out. He shook his head and Dean waddled out to him and leaned on the doorframe with a smile on his face.

"See, Bobby?" Dean asked his pseudo uncle, shaking his head. "Told ya. Not a single shit's given. He's got Sam and Jude... Man..." He shook his head and kept smiling, even though tears began to stream down the kid's face. "I told ya he hated me. Always... Always did... I always got inta trouble for shit they did. He claimed it was because I was supposed ta be watchin' them, or somethin'." He said, pawing at his eyes.

Bobby sighed a bit and went to pull Dean into a hug, but Dean pushed him away and stalked off to get his things. He decided that he should just go ahead and leave, too. Wasn't worth getting Bobby ignored because Dean was staying with him. Bobby asked him to stay, but Dean shook his head again.

And it was months before any of em heard from Dean yet again. Passed Sam and John's birthday, passed Father's day. No one had an idea where he could even be. It was September, again, when John got a call from his son, but the quality and reception was bad. Dean himself sounded pretty horrible. Coughing and sounding kind of sick.

"D-Dad?" He said a bit uncertainly, before he stammered out his location. "I... I... N-Need y-you..." Was all he said before he closed the phone.

And were his dad to come to where he was, he would find his eldest son in an abandoned barn, in a pool of his own blood, basically bleeding out due to a very, very bad scrap with a shapeshifter.

John had no idea what to do, even with a few months passed, the wounds were fresh and there was too much anger spread out to be able to deal with anything. John knew Dean was his son, he loved the boy but he just didn't know what to do, he couldn't haul his ass back home because he wasn't a kid anymore, he was an adult and able to make his own decisions.

Though as the months passed, John started trying to contact Dean to find out where he was and how he was and if they could just talk things out. He got worried to the point of being ill when he couldn't find Dean anywhere and he spent his days figuring out ways to find the boy.

Then one day he got a call and John grabbed his coat. "Sam, look after Jude." he ordered, heading out to the Impala, "I'm comin' buddy, I'm comin'." he told him, speeding off to Dean's location and parking up. He got out and his eyes widened when he saw his boy. "Dee..." he whimpered, dropping to his knees beside him and scooping up. He'd called for an ambulance so they just needed to wait.

"My baby, what happened?" he asked, holding his hand over the wound to decrease the speed of blood loss. "I've got'cha, Daddy's here."

Sammy looked up when his dad told him to watch over Jude. "Why?" He asked, but John walked off anyways. He furrowed his brow, but basically had no choice in the matter, so he had to stay.

Dean was barely seeing by the time his dad got there. It was obvious the boy had been screaming and crying at some point, looking pale, tired, and had bloodshot eyes. He looked up when his dad dropped next to him and pulled him up. Dean gasped and panted as his dad pressed on the horrible gash in his side, pain crashing through him in waves.

He tilted his head up at his dad, looking scared now, tears spilling from his eyes again. "Th... there w-was t-two... an'... o-one... sn-uck up on m'..." He said, before pulling himself closer to sit on his dad, hugging him tight and beginning to sob. "A-Am I-I g-...g-onna d...die..?" He cried fearfully.

John held Dean close, knowing touching the wound was going to hurt but he needed to stop the blood from pouring out, getting it all over his hands in the process. He held his baby close and kissed his head when he started crying and explaining what happened. "Damn shifters, we'll get em next time pal." he told him gently and wrapped an arm around him as he heard the sound of sirens drawing near. "No buddy, yer not gonna die, Daddy won't allow it." he told him.

Paramedics rushed up and got Dean inside. John jumped in the back with him, holding his hand the entire journey to the hospital, tears in his eyes.

Dean, in all honestly, really did think he was going to die. Even though his gash hurt so bad, and he had spent the last nine months hating his father, he realized that if he were to die, there wasn't any place he'd rather be than in his dad's loving, strong arms. The kid sobbed brokenly into his daddy's chest, and eventually he was put in an ambulance and taken to a hospital.

It was scary for a bit, but Dean did recover. He had to stay there for a few days, but he was released a bit later. He was able to walk on his own, a bit shaken up after the whole ordeal, though. On his way out, he turned to his dad with seriously baggy eyes, due to his lack of sleep since the beginning of this horrible situation between them.

"'m staying at a motel in the next down over." He said quietly. "Can ya take me to my car, by that old barn? Then I'll be outta yer hair..." He said quietly.

John stayed with Dean every second of his recovery, not taking his eyes off him for a second for fear he might lose him. When Dean did eventually recover, John was more than relieved and paid the charges before following Dean out of the hospital, not sure what to say now that he was going to be alright. He didn't know if Dean would want to make things work or not, he decided to wait to see what Dean's next words were going to be.

When he told him he was staying in a motel and mentioned leaving, John got his answer and nodded his head, "Yeah I'll take ya there." he answered, it was the least he could do and he walked him over, standing there with a sort of sad look in his eyes, "Try stay outta trouble." he told him, some pleading to his tone.
