As stubborn as ever, even a spiked boot to her stomach was not going to stop Krystal. She took another deep breath and this time put all her might into it, the flames from this breath hot enough to melt metal.

Hestline gave no scream, just one final spasm before his limbs stopped thrashing and hia body hung limp in Krystals hold.

KAruk gave no notice of this and only continued to shake and cling to Herne.

The heat from the gout of flame made Herne's fur flatten, and his ears droop, while his whole body straightened like a piece of iron, clinging all the more tightly to Karuk.

"Hein-h-hein!" A terrified and wolfish whine spat from the boy, who's face was completely buried in the other boy's chest, as his arms wrapped around him in a hug as tight as his little body could muster.

Krystal let the body go and fell backwards, clutching at her stomach and breathing hard. Smoke puffed out of her mouth, along with ash and burnt flesh. She coughed a little bit and tried to rise, failing. She whimpered a little and managed to move against a tree, using it to sit herself up. "H-herne... Karuk..." she moaned out. "Are you two... alright?"

Karuk small nose was assaulted with terrible smells, blood and burnt flesh. "K-Kr-Kr-Krystal.....Are you o-o-okay?" came Karuk's pitiful whine, he still had a death grip on Herne.

Herne was surprised to be the first one to move, rolling backwards, still hugging Karuk, towards the dragoness.

"K-k-krystal!" The child cried out, worriedly.

Karuk shakily got to his feet and looked, wide-eyed, at Krystal. The coyote made a snap decsion. "H-Herne! St-stay w-with her! I'm g-onna go find Glimm!"the pup yelped as he bolted off into the bushes, searching for the other dragon.
