Drifters of the Smacked (for noble_lance)

Sudden attack of zombies forced Takashi's group to split. While the guy himself gabbed Alice with her dog and jumped into a buggy with Hirano covering them with fire, the young women had to get into the closest car and drive to the opposite direction. Attempting to fleed the rising waves of undead they lost control and the car fell from the bridge. Lucily, there was an old rusty barge underneath, so they didn't get drawn. The downside was that the impact both destroyed their car and made the barge flow, so they ended up in the sea. If they jumped into the water right now they would end up on the shore with the zombies. So they ended up drifting into the sea.


For almost a day they were moving god knows there, panicking more and more, but suddenly some little tropical island became visible. As soon as the distance became approachable Rei, Saeko, Saya and Shizuka jumped into the water and swam to the beach....

Tony had working on the island off the shore that had been not far by working boat. He had lived and worked on the island as part of a resort package. However, the island was mostly closed during the season. There had been a few people on the island for an event when the zombies started attacking two weeks ago. A lot of the people had been freaking out and attempted to leave since the island was still relatively close to Japan and believed that they'd be attacked next or that they'd turn somehow.

As a result he was alone on the island handling as much of it as possible. Having rationed the food, and they had solar power, he set up some nets for fishing to have fresh meat and worked on a garden while he was there. He had been in the middle of preparing some minor fortifications when he saw ripples in the water swimming towards his nets, looking eager for a school of fish, unaware it was people.

Only in the water the four girls realised how hard it was to reach teh shore in the sea, battling the waves. Then they finally reached the beach, they were exhausted.
