My favorite video game series was not my first, but it drew me in and touched me greaty with the story line and characters than any other game I played at the time.
Kingdom Hearts. 2002. I was pretty young and loved disney to death. I did not understand it all, but it was great to play but by KH2, I was able to grasp the story line and all the complexity, the different sides, the emotions, the characters, this game was and still is just amazingly wonderful~
Waiting for KH3 to come out for this beloved game, that in truth - as cheesy as it may sound- opened my eyes to friendship, different paths, mistakes, betrayal, heartache and how things can't be fixed all at once, how we must wait and keep going in till we get some distant opportunity.
Not to mention the music is gorgeously made and Kh introduced me to fanfic and spanking pics, heh.

This game is nowhere near my first game, but my favorite of all times will have to be Magical Starsign for the Nintendo DS, an underrated little RPG with so much charm and character.

My favorite game right now is Ark survival because I get to choose my name to be Hittlah and every one who doesn't like it I can cage for days, real life days. and you half to build up, so when I come and murder every one and their animals with their gear I destroy everything they worked for, some times I get a months worth of loot from even the lower level players.

I prefer Adventure Escape Mysteries. I love something that will make you solve a mystery or a puzzle before moving to the next.

video games is too broada subject. Standup arcade vs console vs pc....
I have a lot of favorites with standup arcade, but the one that stands out themost is the old mortal combat, that had these plunger like "buttons" that llet you wail the hell out of it, giving you quite a workout. one guy I went up against was so much another version of me it wasn't funny. we played for hours each besting the other to challenge and come back at tbe other. He took Ryu and I took Ken. we traded secrets and thoughts onthis new game. after a couple hours of smashing these oversized plungers, our arms were like wet spaghetti. We smiled and promised totake the challenge again another time, but never did. I was 20 as was he. we had jobs and responsibilities.
For console, I have precious few to list, and fewer favorites, but I'd say the old Firefox was pretty cool. It might have been called something else as firefox remindsme of a clint eastwood movie abkut a plane. I think it was an old snes game that was more cartoony flier sort of game. It requiredskill butnot so much to make you rage/quit.
On computer games, my preferred gaming system, would be myst and it's predasesser, oro. These are very detailed, highly realistic problem solving games. Patterned after Zork, which was my first pc games. I can't say enough about them. It had dry humor, creative, detailed, puzzles, with no undercurrent of socio/political machinations. It had an us/them aspect but the"them" was not based on anybody or anything current. So there was pressure to solve the problems, but it didn't put any one group down in these pursuits.
So, there are my picks.
secondary picks on standup arcade games are too numerous... robotron, tron, f16 afterburner, asteroids, ms pacman, joust, Dragon's Lair, defender, galaga, (an original age game that had pixels nights sword fighting from overhead perspective).... that scratches the surface...
