Now honestly the answer to that question was technically a lie and a half. Charles loved hanging out with Ember. She was his favorite friend. But just that--a friend. Charles had never really registered her as having an existence beyond being a friend. But suddenly Charles was very conscious that Ember is also a girl.

Charles glanced up, eyes tracing Ember's form. Ember was still staring at the ground, which helped him avoid the embarrassment of staring. Ember was really cute...

"W-well...if you've been bad..." he trailed off. "Um, why not ask your parents though?"

Well now she didn’t need to accidentally lie, she could just tell the truth. She let out a sigh while the blush on her face started to lessen some. “I would ask my parents, b-but knowing them, they’d probably disagree with me. It had to be you cause no one else will do it.”

She nodded and waited for him to lay out his legs before letting out a breath as she began to crawl across his lap.
