Work. That’s all this was. Another client who needed to be protected from the outside world to convert themselves in the eye of the law; just another criminal looking for a way to stay out of prison, rather than end up there due to the events in their life. According to the file, this girl never really stood a chance. Perhaps even deserved some pity. But the fact that she was offering to redeem herself from the evils of the past surely held weight in themselves. It was hard to testify against dangerous people – Sabina understood that. Hell, she’d witnessed over a dozen people speaking out against their own, or people in power. Something that many decided against.

This one seemed a little young; at least, in comparison to the women she usually dealt with. Not something that would necessarily be a problem, but she hoped that the young woman would listen. After all, witness protection only worked when the criminals decided to obey the orders of law enforcement. It wasn’t until the girl was walking through the door that Sabina put on a friendly smile, straightening up and gesturing for her to enter the living room. It would only be them for a long while. They needed to get to know each other. “Sabina Romero. Miss or Agent Romero is just fine.” The elder female explains, holding out a hand toward the other to shake.

Amy stared at the hand for a moment before deciding to shake it anyway. "What’s up?", she asked casually and looked her new protector in the eyes, which made her look up as she was quite a bit smaller. "Amy Gardner, Amy will be fine? So what's next?", the girl asked, arms akimbo with a lot of ghetto swagger in her movement.

There’s a slow nod in response to the young girl’s introduction, dark irises watching as she moves. The marshal tilts her head gently, curious about this new girl. “Nice to meet you, Amy.” She replies, letting her hand drop away once the other has shaken it, and settling in her pocket. “Well, I think you can get settled in and I’ll tell you what the rules of the agreement are. They’re actually quite simple.” She mentions, legs beginning to move her toward the room where Amy would be staying. “You can’t leave here without me, unless it’s been pre-approved. No social media. No contact with your previous affiliations. No illegal activity. You’ll be enrolled in school, that’s the only place you can be alone – we’ll have agents there with you.”

"Huh, so I can´t go on social media but I have to go to school? I´d say thats unfair but I never cared much for social media anyway...had plenty of friends in my neighborhood.", the girl said, shrugged and moved on. "Sooo, were are we going to stay?", she then asked, kinda hoping it would be a good place, since she had lived in pretty shitty conditions all her life.

“Technology now-a-days has made it too easy to track people – and the last thing we need is the person you’re testifying against finding you. That’s why we’re going to move you to a much more secluded location. Somewhere in the country.” It would definitely be a change of pace for the girl – considering she’d come from such a large city. On the other hand, moving to a city that only had a handful of people could eventually get boring, if the US Marshal wasn’t careful. “We’ll be leaving for the little town in the morning. The house is nice.” Meaning, it wouldn’t be all that large, though it didn’t really matter.

“Now, take a seat and we’ll go over everything. Once we’re done, you can get some rest.” A file was produced and set before the young criminal. “You can peruse this. It’ll give you all the information. We’ll portray you as my daughter, since you can’t keep your identity the same. We’ll have moved there to get away from city life.”

Amy listened to her protectors words and was unsure how she felt about moving to the country. She had never been outside of the big city, as Sabina was well aware. All she knew was that people tended to be a lot more conservative where they were going, and she wasn´t sure if she liked that.
"Huh, that will be weird. Are we going were the rednecks are?", she asked curiously, not necessarily with an open mind.

A small smile graced the marshal’s lips, head shaking at the strangely worded question. In fact, most of the young girl’s language was intriguing to the woman. Not that she hadn’t spent time with thieves and criminals, but meeting new ones always seemed to renew her curiosity. “You’ll get used to it. Not quite. It’ll just be further away from the city. More like a small country home. Everyone knows everyone, kind of thing. It won’t be that bad.”

"Ah, then I am relieved. I might be a gangster but I can´t stand bigotry.", said the girl back,"Still, its gonna be weird. Is this even a good place for us to hide? I mean, people will take notice when an urban girl like me suddenly shows up."

The marshal hummed quietly, shaking her head. While it would be noticeable that the pair were moving into a new town, it wouldn’t necessarily be dangerous. Lack of media and the influence of the outside world playing on their side. “We’re hiding in plain sight, so to speak. We’re simply a mother and daughter moving into a new town, far away from all the bad influences in your previous life. There’s limited internet, and contact with the rest of the state. We’ll be safe.”

"If you say so. So...when are we going?", Amy asked with interest. While the circumstances were wild a new environment was intruiging. She still considered this more of an adventure than serious business. After all she was still young.
