Isabella buried her head in her knees as she cried. "I'm the horrible sister! I keep making you cry by being naughty! It should have been me that went, not Mommy. You would be much happier."

Tielle grabbed her sister firmly by the shoulders and stood her on the ground before her, gripping her tight and looking her straight in the eyes.

"Isabella Marie May, don't you ever ever think that. I'm sad that Mommy's gone, but I would have been so much more upset if you were the one to get that stupid disease and pass... ever since you were born, I told myself I would do anything to make sure you grew up safe and healthy, and I intend to do that. You are my baby, my light, my greatest treasure... and I don't care how naughty you are nor how naughty you ever are. You are the only thing in this world that keeps me going, the only reason I wake up in the morning. You are the only thing that makes me smile and be strong. I don't just want you - I absolutely need you. Okay?"

Tielle wasn't sure if Isabella would follow what she was saying, but the girl was pouring her heart out to the child. Every single word she said was true, and she wanted Isabella to know it... it would be hard for the seven-year-old to accept, no doubt. But Tielle would spend every waking moment reminding her sister how precious she was in her world if need be until it stuck.

Isabella listened to every word, breathing heavily and her eyes wide. She couldn't believe just how much her sister loved her--or that Tielle needed her just as much as she needed Tielle.

The child climbed up onto her sister's lap and hugged her tightly, saying nothing.

Tielle held Isabella close and rocked with her for a little while before leaving the bathroom and lying down on her bed with the girl, curling up and snuggling... she didn't really expect her to stay too long or take a nap or anything, but the older woman just needed a selfish couple of moments to cuddle her baby girl.

She wrapped her arms tight around the child and kissed her forehead and just curled up with her, feeling her little heart beat and her chest rise and fall quietly against hers... This child was her sister, alive and well right in her arms, and she never wanted to let go. The two needed each other so badly it hurt sometimes, but it was these quiet moments that made the world just stop and remind her how lucky she was.

They may have lost their mother... but somehow it felt like they had gained so much as well. A bond that Tielle physically could not live without anymore. If Natalie had fallen to pieces when Samantha had run off, the young woman didn't even want to think of what would happen if Isabella was no longer in her life.

Tielle closed her eyes, breathing in and out in sweet harmony to the natural rhythm of the the little girl in her arms, whispering three simple words as she quietly dozed off for an impromptu afternoon rest:

"I love you."

Isabella fell asleep quite quickly, snuggling up to her sister - who, by this point, was more like her mother than her sister.

The child loved all the attention she gained from her sister and at first she thought she had to misbehave to receive it; but Isabella knew that wasn't true now. Tielle, who was now her mommy, would give her all the attention in the world, all the time.

Samantha was the first to wake up some time later, after all the spankings and naps had started to complete their run. She was still extremely tired and sore from the events of earlier, but she was otherwise okay. It had been a super long day despite her feeling like really nothing had come of it in terms of her Pokemon Adventure or general events.

She lay on her tummy, pulling her pillow and plushie close and just waited for her mommy to wake up. She didn't know what time it was nor terribly care. She was a little hungry, and wanted to eat something soon just so she could go back to bed and wake up fed and refreshed in the morning.

Natalie stirred as Samantha woke up, rubbing her eyes and yawning. She saw that Samantha was awake and reached a hand over to her daughter. "Hey, my gorgeous baby girl. How are you feeling now?"

Samantha shuffled and looked at her mommy as she spoke. "I'm... really tired and still pretty sore... but I guess I'm feeling better than before our nap." She scooted over towards Natalie so she could curl up against her, ever careful not to let her bottom get too much pressure against it. "Did you sleep okay too?"

Natalie put an arm around her daughter. "I slept just fine, my darling." She smiled and kissed Samantha's forehead. "Please don't ever try to run from me again. I would die if I lost you." She wasn't scolding the girl, just telling her the truth.

Samantha nodded silently... she felt the same way about losing her mother. "Thanks for coming along with me on this trip... I don't know how some people do it on their own... I'd be scared and lost without you." She snuggled closer and let out a mild giggle. "Though not getting spanked every time I did something bad would be kind of nice... but I know you're doing it because you care. You're just really good at it, so it's really not fun!" she said with a smile, nuzzling against the woman as she did so. She was visibly in a better mood than before, despite being wiped out in many ways.
