"After our little affair in public earlier, I'm positive Samantha will behave," Ariana said, certain of herself. "Unless she wants a repeat performance," she added on, joking.

Samantha had a look on her face to rival that of an anime character just being told some exasperating bit of news.

"I... don't want any more spankings today. I just want to get some ice cream" she said, very well aware of Ariana's teasing but still having a reminder of the bare bottomed smacks she got earlier that day.

"I already have to tell the Poke Mart man I'm sorry tomorrow, I don't want to upset the ice cream man too! What if he doesn't let me buy ice cream from him any more?"

She practically shivered at that thought - that would be almost worse than a spanking!

"Well if that happens, Mommy will have some words with him," Natalie assured her. "But I know you're going to be a good girl, so I've got no worry of that happening."

"We should probably get going now, instead of sitting around and talking," Ariana stated. "Besides, I don't really know where the ice-cream man is. You'll have to show me, Samantha."

Samantha nodded and eagerly led Ariana out of the apartment complex and a few blocks away to a little ice cream parlor. It wasn't a terribly big place, but it was well lit and seemed clean. It was the one her Momma always took her to because it was close enough to the house and open late enough that it could be used for little treats like that. The streets were well lit down this stretch to the Train Station so it was pretty safe in comparison to other parts of the town at this time of night.

The little girl pushed open the door and let go of Ariana's hand to press her face against the glass that barricaded her from the ice cream - close inspection could see that she was not the only child who frequently smudged it.

"Um um um, can I have Poliwhirl Chocolate Swirl? It's really really good!" she said excitingly.

Ariana's eyes were darting around every second for any signs of danger - even the faintest sign and she'd whip out one of her Pokemon, preferably Charizard. He was big enough to scare off any inspiring muggers.

She had to wince and blink as her eyes suddenly adjusted to the bright light of the ice-cream parlour. The blonde teen rubbed her eyes and directed them to look at the excited child.

Ariana made her way over to Samantha and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You can have whatever you like. So long as it doesn't make you sick. I don't think your mother would really appreciate that."

Samantha smiled and looked at Ariana. "It's okay. I just wanted a small one anyway. I'm still pretty full from dinner," she said, turning back around to the ice cream man to see him already dipping up a small cone of Poliwhirl Chocolate Swirl.

She was having a lot of fun and was very pleased that she got to go out for ice cream with her new friend. She hadn't gone out with mommy for ice cream in a long time, mainly because it was too cold for it up until about a month or so ago.

Ariana fetched 10 Poke Dollars out of her purse. "This is probably more than enough for it," she mumbled, mostly to herself. She paid for the ice-cream and handed it to a very eager Samantha.

"Here you go, sweetie," she said, tapping Samantha on the nose. "Enjoy, you've earned it."

Samantha took the ice cream happily. "Thank you!" she said to the ice cream man, and then turned around and said "Thank you Ariana!" With that out of the way, she went to town on her ice cream, licking away at it like only a child could and emanating sounds of "Mmmmmm" with reckless abandon.

She plopped down in one of the seats around the parlor and enjoyed the frozen treat for a minute before looking up Ariana.

"I'm having a lot of fun, thank you!" she purred.

Ariana sat down by the child, resting a hand on her head. "You're very welcome, Samantha. Don't take too long eating it, though, I don't want to get your mother worried."

The teen had quite clearly heard earlier that Natalie did not trust her. It was quite understandable, seeing as she was just a stranger still. If she returned Samantha in one piece then maybe Natalie would trust her.

The child nodded and obediently ate her treat quietly. The mix of vanilla and chocolate ribbon danced across her tongue, warming her spirit with simple happiness. She loved the days that she got to come here and just be a little girl, usually with her Mommy getting some grown-up flavor like Electric Lemon Sherbert or Kangaskhan Nut Crunch. She liked all the silly names, but really the flavors were beyond her palette.

She crunched through her cone quickly and looked up at Ariana with a little bit of the melted treat still on her face.

"I'm finished" she said, not bothering to look for a napkin.
