The next morning, Samantha woke up in her bed next to Natalie, shuffling a bit and gripping Cotton and her pillow tightly. She slept rather well, but was still surprisingly tired - probably due to how much she had slept the day before. The sun came in to their room through the curtains and she breathed gently.

She looked up at Squirtle's Pokeball on the bedside table and smiled a bit, before sitting up on the bed and picking it up, looking at it lovingly. "Good morning! Did you sleep well? We're going on an adventure today!" she happily cooed to her little friend.

Natalie was woken by the sound of daughter's voice and her eyes fluttered open. "Morning, sweetie," she muttered. She yawned and pushed herself up. "We've got quite a day ahead of us, huh?"

Samantha sat Squirtle back down and flopped over next to her mommy, giving her a big hug. "Uh huh! I can't wait! I'm sorry it took us so long to get going, but I'm now super excited!" she said with a loving smile on her face.

Natalie hugged her back tightly, smoothing Samantha's hair down with one hand. "Oh, that's okay, baby. I think we needed the break anyway." She pulled away from the girl and gave her a kiss. "Now, Isabella might be a bit upset at leaving today so be extra nice to her, okay?"

Samantha cuddled Natalie and nodded respectfully. "Yes momma. I understand" she said sweetly. "Do you know how long it will take to get from here to Peter... Pwerty... Pwu... the next city?" she asked, stumbling over "Pewter", like often she did with new words that she hadn't quite gotten the hang of yet.

"If we're walking... about two or three hours," Natalie replied after thinking about it. "But we need to head through Viridian Forest first. Who knows? Maybe you could use it as an opportunity to train Squirtle and catch some more Pokemon."

Samantha sat back on the bed with crossed legs and smiled. "I can't wait! I wonder what I'll catch first?" she said with pleasure. "And hopefully Squirtle will grow stronger and be my bestest friend ever!" She was now bouncing with energy, surprisingly full of it considering yesterday's events.

"And have a big yummy breakfast, right?" Samantha chirped excitedly. She still had the breakfast from Pallet Town in the back of her mind, and while she knew something quite that fancy was not something she could expect for every day of this trip, she was well aware a cozy little home like this would be a great place for some tasty meal before heading out on their adventure.
