Natalie chuckled at her daughter's little grammar mistake but let it slide. "You can't raise your Squirtle to be the bestest Pokemon ever if you're not dressed though," she said with a grin. "Go on, go and get dressed. I'll get dressed in here."

Samantha ran happily into the bathroom and quickly got showered and changed. She brushed her teeth and got her backpack all ready (making sure not to forget Cotton under the bed covers) and loaded up, looking like a little trooper with her bandana and Pokeball.

"I'm all ready mommy!" she said cheerfully.

Natalie just sprayed herself with some deodorant; she didn't smell of bad body odour, so it was fine.

She was buttoning her jacket up when her daughter ran into the room, looking just like the Pokemon Trainer she was. "Well, don't you look the part?" Natalie grinned, kissing Samantha's forehead. "I'll let you have anything you want for breakfast as reward for taking your punishment so well. And if you can go through the rest of the day behaving then I'll let you have some more ice-cream. How does that sound?"

Samantha giggled happily. "Yes ma'am!" She grabbed onto her mommy's hand and headed downstairs for breakfast.

There was a little cafe style restaurant attached to the hotel. It was small and mostly outdoors, but very lovely and decorated with large colorful umbrellas. It was a beautiful day and Samantha couldn't wait to get out and about.

A few other trainers were sitting around and had their Pokemon relaxing nearby them.

"Is it okay if I let Squirtle out for a bit?" she asked her mother politely.

"This is a little lovely little cafe," Natalie mumbled quietly to herself. "Hm?" she remarked when her daughter asked her a question. She smiled. "Of course you can, sweetie. Just keep an eye on it, make sure it doesn't cause trouble."

The little girl took the Pokeball off of her belt loop and unleashed her Squirtle. The little guy took a minute to look around at the sunlight and then met eyes with the child.

"Hi there! I'm your new trainer" she said happily. The Pokemon chirped its name happily as it got to know the little one that it would be traveling with.

Some of the older Pokemon from other trainers looked over at the energetic little Squirtle curiously. A few went back to sleep, others watched intently to see what the critter did, but mostly it was a peaceful morning.

"Do you want some breakfast?" Samantha asked happily. "I don't know what Squirtles eat, but I'm sure if you wanted a little bit of my toast or something that wouldn't hurt, at least until we get some Pokemon Food."

Natalie watched the two interacting, thankful that Squirtle did not try to attack his new trainer or anything like that. The mother could tell already that Samantha loved the little Pokemon dearly and that Samantha was going to be a wonderful trainer.

The Pokemon nodded eagerly, since he'd already had human food.

Natalie chuckled. "I think it's very hungry."

Samantha sweetly ordered a big breakfast for herself when the waiter came and made sure to get an extra side of toast so that she could give the Squirtle pieces of it.

She ate her eggs happily as the little guy jumped up in her lap and nibbled at the various pieces of toast it was given.

"So what are we going to do after breakfast, Mommy? Are we going to meet with Ariana and go back on the train somewhere, or are we gonna go out into the wilderness and try to catch a Pokemon or something?"

Her eyes were filled with a newfound wonder, even though her mouth was still somewhat filled with eggs. Her curiosity about the world was as high as the Pokemon's was, it seemed.

Natalie ordered the same as Samantha for herself.

"Actually, I was thinking we could start our journey from Pallet Town," Natalie suggested. "Lots of people start their journey here, so why not us?"

Samantha nodded happily and continued to eat while her Squirtle was crawling around her and getting it's bearings. "So we're going to Vira... Vire... Viridian City?" she asked, awkwardly trying to remember her geography from school.

Squirtle hopped off of her lap and walked over to a nearby Ninetails. The Fire Pokemon sleepily opened it's eyes and looked up at the little toddling turtle, giving a little bit of an annoyed huff. The Water Pokemon jumped in surprise and scampered back over to Samantha's lap. Clearly the little guy was just as new at this as she was.
