Natalie kissed the top of Samantha's head. "It makes me very pleased to hear you say that. I will admit, I don't trust her myself but I'm sure if I get to know her better, I will."

Leaving Ariana alone in the living room/kitchen was a little test; Natalie was going to go around later and see if there was anything missing.

"I'm glad to hear she's honest," Natalie said. "You never know, we may have both gained a friend. At least something good has come out of you stealing, hm?" Natalie then stood up, and holding Samantha with one arm, tugged back the bed covers. She settled Samantha down on her stomach and then put the covers over her daughter. "You get some good rest, sweetie. Mommy loves you very much."

Samantha nodded a little bit, even though the days events were still running through her mind... she'd feel guilty a bit even after she was forgiven and got her just punishment, but she'd feel better in time.

She lay gently on her tummy and cuddled up with Cotton, her big fluffy Mareep doll. It had been a long day, and she was hungry... but she was so tired she'd wait a bit. Momma would probably wake her up in a bit anyway. A small smile graced the little girl's face for the first time all evening at the thought of Ariana's ice cream offer... maybe today wouldn't be all bad.

"That's what I like to see," Natalie remarked upon seeing Samantha's smile. "I love seeing my baby girl smile, hate seeing her upset." She kissed Samantha's cheek and smoothed her hair. "Now you get some sleep, my darling. I'll wake you up in an hour, all right?"

"Okay Momma... I love you..." she said, and snuggled up under the covers with Cotton to try and get some sleep. Today was a day of icky feelings and sore bottoms, but Sam was finally calmed down enough that her body just took it as a sign to zonk out - and so she did, breathing peacefully against her pillows and drifting off to dreamland.

Natalie sighed with relief as Samantha finally drifted off to sleep. Now her body would do away with all her distress and upset and start anew. She quietly excited the room, shutting the door behind her.

"H-How is she?" Ariana immediately asked, nervous now she was just in the company of Natalie.

"She's gone to sleep. She'll be fine once she wakes up," Natalie replied. "So, what brings you here? Where are you from?"

"I'm a Pokemon Trainer, miss," Ariana answered. "I'm from Pallet Town."

"Pallet Town?" Natalie replied. "That's the small town in the south, isn't it? That seaside town?"

Ariana nodded. "Yeah. It's very peaceful."

Natalie smiled, glad that the ice had already seemed to be broken between the pair. Ariana's speech was now much more relaxed.

An hour passed, one filled with Ariana and Natalie getting to know each other much better. They were laughing and joking with each other.

"Right, I've got to go and wake Samantha up now," Natalie said, getting up from the couch. "She'll be in a much better mood now." She left Ariana alone once more and entered Samantha's room. She went up the bed and gently shook the girl awake. "Samantha, wake up..." she said softly. "Come on, baby."

"Is Ariana still here?" she asked almost immediately. The little girl had apparently become quite attached to the Pokemon Trainer in the short time that she was around.

She gave a big yawn and suddenly her tummy gave a little grumble. She had forgotten she hadn't had anything since lunch and it was getting pretty late.

"I'm hungry Mommy... can we have something yummy for dinner?"

Natalie chuckled. "Yes, Ariana is still here," she answered. She chuckled even more at Samantha's big yawn and little tummy grumble.

"Well, my darling, we can have whatever you like for dinner," Natalie responded. "I think you've deserved it for being such a good girl." She picked Samantha up into her arms gently.

Samantha wrapped her arms around her mother's neck, careful not to drop her plushie, and allowed herself to be carried. "Can we have spaghetti? I know we had it a couple days ago, but that sounds really good tonight."

She laid her head against her mother's shoulder... she was always a little groggy after she woke up, but she'd chipper up before too long. The real trick would be getting her to settle down for bedtime when that came around, but Sam didn't really feel like arguing after the day she had.

"Spaghetti it is then," Natalie told her daughter, carrying the child into the living room. "Ariana, do you have anywhere to stay tonight?"

"Yeah, I could always go to the Pokemon Centre," Ariana replied; but then she got a stern look from the older woman (which made her slightly scared).

"No, you're staying here tonight. We have a guest room, I'll make up the bed for you. It's the least I can do for you. I just hope you like spaghetti."

The little girl gave a small giggle at Ariana's reaction to her momma's patented 'Just what do you think you're doing, Young Lady' look, and kissed her on the cheek for letting Ariana stay the night with them. "Thank you momma!" she said cheerfully, and squirmed a bit to be let down so she could play with her new friend.
