Olive Oakley
Olive shook her head, her fluffy hair swishing back and forth. "You don't need to apologize for anything, Jesse, and you didn't ruin it," she said, leaning against him protectively after they took off their skates. (Thankfully, she didn't have to sit down for that.)

"We don't steal money all the time," Puck said. She'd had a college fund at one point, and it became her retirement fund for (hopefully) when she was done with being a Huntress. The rest, she earned from her jobs or stole. "And don't you go acting like a brat, too. There can only be one."
When their food arrived, she set Omelette's bowl onto the floor (which he latched onto immediately), before digging into her burger. It was greasy and fattening and covered in bacon and cheese and mayonnaise. Perfection. She merely nodded along with his comment, not wanting to eat with her mouthful when that would mean distracting herself from her food.

After they'd returned their skate rentals, he led her back to the car, mind too spaced out to blush at her leaning against him. It seemed like they were on their way back to the motel far too soon, and if he'd had the presence of mind to realize just how enjoyable it was to have gotten a bit of a break from constantly hunting, he no doubt would've wished his uncle had waited longer to call to scold him.
The drive was quiet, as it usually was, and soon they'd arrived at their destination. It was probably a good idea to get some sleep anyway. It wasn't exactly late, but the next day he'd have to do some research to see where his next destination would be. If his uncle was coming, maybe he could slip out of there underneath his nose...
Jesse didn't hesitate to open her door for her and escort her to her room. "Goodnight, Olive." He supposed it was time they parted until the next day; no doubt he wouldn't be sleeping for quite some time, as their schedule had adjusted so they usually slept from mid-morning to afternoon. Just the same, it was nighttime, and there wasn't much else to do besides flop on his bed and watch TV for a while. "I'm right next door if you need anything."

Before long he'd finished his food, and soon afterward dropped onto the sofa. It was mostly out of habit, having permanently associated 'Puck's place' and 'sleep on couch'. Once he remembered he had a room of his own, though, he first asked what time they were meant to get up the next morning before he bade the girl goodnight and left to head to his own. It wasn't long before he'd fallen asleep to lovely thoughts of the girl's perky red backside - he couldn't get out of his head how adorable she'd been when she was frustrated and squirming to get away.
He woke up right on time thanks to the handy-dandy alarm clock, and since he didn't really have much to do to get ready thanks to his lack of luggage, he promptly went to Puck's room to pester her. Knocking first, he called, "Honey Tits?" More knocking, before she would've even had the time to answer. "Good morning, HT!" More knocking. "You ready to go yet?" Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock.

"'Night, Jesse," Olive murmured quietly as he escorted her to her room. She was rather sad that their fun had to end abruptly, but she knew that staying there – with Jesse being miserable – would not have been good. When he went into his own room, she shuffled over to the little fridge in the room, put some ice in a towel and put it against her bottom while she watched television. Her bottom didn't hurt nearly as much as yesterday, but she thought it would still be a good idea to try and make it go away as soon as possible.
However, around one or so, she heard a noise from outside of her room. It sounded like a kitten, but she wasn't entirely sure. She'd heard that story of a rapist using baby cries to lure women out of their homes, but would one try with a kitty? That would be kind of stupid. Still, she checked the peep-hole, and lo and behold, a kitten with white feet. How cute!
The little fluffy thing pattered away when she opened the door – despite cats usually behaving well around vampires – and, on a whim, she decided to follow. After all, it was still nighttime, and she wouldn't be gone long! She didn't even realize that she'd forgotten her long coat, to protect her, or to inform Jesse, in case he woke up.

Puck, on the other hand, had fallen asleep on her bed, with Omelette's warm body snuggled against her. She was just finishing smoothing out her blue dress – and stretchy shorts underneath, just in case the demon got any ideas – when she heard Honey Tits coming from outside. They weren't needed for another two hours, at eleven o'clock, and she'd been thinking about grabbing breakfast and walking her puppy (before handing him over for the hotel staff to watch for the afternoon, since it was already paid for anywho).
"Jesus Christ, stop that fucking knocking!" she snapped at the door. Omelette barked in agreement, and she opened it to reveal Maxwell. "Do you do these things just to bother me?" she asked him, grabbing her purse and clicking her fingers for Omelette to follow along.

He ended up watching TV until the wee hours of the morning, at which point he fell asleep involuntarily at around half-past midnight. Ending up sleeping until five-thirty, he woke up and got a shower, changing into his usual attire of jeans and a t-shirt. Not particularly hungry yet, he flipped through the limited channels for a while before deciding he'd go get breakfast at around seven.
Thinking perhaps his companion would like to at least go along for the drive, and not wanting to leave her alone in case his uncle came along (as a seasoned and skilled hunter, he knew his Uncle would be able to find them if he really wanted to), he knocked on her door and waited for her to answer. When he didn't get a response, he knocked again, repeating this twice with about a minute before each set of knocks. "...Olive?" He called, wondering if she was sleeping. A foreboding feeling welled up in his stomach, though, and he gently tried the doorhandle, swallowing hard as he found it to be unlocked.
Looking inside, he could plainly see that the brunette wasn't there, and that her long coat was still draped over the back of the little chair by her table. The TV had been left on, and the bathroom door was open, revealing her absence from there as well. He ran to the main building, offering the owner a good morning before asking if she'd seen 'the girl he checked in with'. Though she said no, he still checked the basement to see if she was maybe doing laundry, only to find her missing from there as well.
Taking a breath to calm himself after running top-speed back to her apartment, he began to examine the ground to look for any clues he might find as to where she went, terrified that his uncle had done something to the girl. However, the short, grassy lawn in front of the doors to their rooms meant that there weren't really any tracks to follow. The blades of grass were too short to show if they were tamped down by feet. He would just have to search for her...

Solely for the sake of being a bastard, he responded to her question by giving the door another knock after it had been opened, smugly smirking at the long-haired woman. Yes, yes he did - his favorite pastime was annoying the living hell out of her. Served her right for keeping him leashed! "We leaving yet? Can we get me a change of clothes first?"

If there was anyone watching out for vampires, they decided to bless Olive that afternoon, because when morning came around seven, when the sun would normally come out, it was cloudy and ugly-looking, so everything was still kind of dark and gray.
Which was good, because Olive was lost. Completely and utterly lost, hiding under a shady patch of trees and shivering.
She'd hunted after the kitty for about an hour, and when she caught up with it, they played – it was a domestic cat who enjoyed walking around the neighborhoods – and when it left, she realized she had no idea where she was. And, instead of doing the number one rule of wanting-to-be-found (which was to stay where you were), she did the opposite: she tried finding her way back, and got effectively more lost.
She was very scared when the morning came back. She could get burned, or worse – found by a hunter or a rapist or something. And what if Jesse never found her? Then she'd probably end up getting hungry and ... well, do who knew what.

Puck nodded, clipping the leash on her pup (who was jumping into the demon's leg, wanted to be pet very, very much). "We have time for that, thankfully, but we'll have to go to a thrift store." He could find something relatively clean there, and the rest he could wash, if he wanted to not smell like the inside of a Goodwill. "And quit being a brat, or I might just spank you."

Disoriented, and without the slightest clue of where to start searching, Jesse had no choice but to take off running, occasionally calling the girl's name. He first searched the edge of the city, then went in the other direction entirely. The nagging feeling in his stomach that his uncle had something to do with her disappearance wouldn't go away; once again he'd failed the girl, not even doing anything to protect her. She'd been through so much thanks to him - he was the reason she was turned in the first place, thanks to his ineptitude at being a hunter and not being able to find the vampire that changed her.
Trying his hardest to remain hopeful, he continued to search, eventually - and unknowingly - ending up in the forest-like area where she'd ended up. "Olive?" He shouted, cupping his hands around his lips to try and help the sound carry through the trees. "Olive!"

"G'morning, little guy!" He said to the pup, kneeling to give Omelette scratches and pets. "Who's a good puppy? You're a good puppy!"
After doting over Omelette for a bit, he responded to her. "Well, I don't care where we go. If you're fine with me smelling like piss on the drive to wherever, then to the thrift shop it is." He'd probably end up looking like he'd taken her grandpa's style, but oh well. Truth be told, he'd be happy with anything so long as it was clean and didn't smell like he'd been wearing it for two days, as that's how his clothes smelled. Probably because that's how long he'd been wearing them.
Laughing at her remark, he slyly responded, "If you're trying to turn me on, it's working."

"J-Jesse...?" a small voice called, from several yard away. She was alive! She was alive, and she had heard him! "Jesse, I'm wet and cold and scared!" she cried out, and there were clear sounds of tears in her voice. She was wet and dirty and cold and tired, and she just wanted a hug and a shower and to go to bed.

Omelette, who seemed to adore the demon as much as his owner, was quite pleased with the praise, licking the demon's hands and face, until he let go. Then he shuffled back over to his owner, who patted him on the head.
Puck rolled her eyes at him – "You're gross, you know that?" (despite the fact that one of her old boyfriends had been into it, and she was more 'meh' towards spanking in bed) – before they left the hotel and headed towards the nearest McDonald's for breakfast.

The second he heard her frail little voice, he shouted back. "Olive!!" As she continued to call to him, now telling him of her condition, he felt his heart sink from how fragile she sounded, sounding very much like she was about to cry if she hadn't already. Finding her among the trees, he felt awful for the pitiful little bundle curled up against the tree. Rushing to her side, he knelt down in front of her, tightly taking her hands in his. "What happened? Why are you out here?" Without thinking, he pulled her against his chest in a tight hug - though he made sure she was still getting as much shade as possible. Remembering his theory about his uncle, he added, "No one hurt you, did they?"

"Yeah, I try." He teased, following along behind Puck just like Omelette. Maxwell really was very comparable to a pet! He'd been kidding about being turned on (a spanking from Puck would probably be more painful than sexy, and he didn't care much for being a 'bottom'), but her reaction, however subtle, was worth it.
Wolfing down his breakfast, the demon soon found himself improving drums on the handle of his car door, and generally fidgeting with everything in the car. His very first hunter job! It was finally here! It probably wasn't natural for a demon to be excited about that sort of thing, but Maxwell was just the same.

Olive clung onto Jesse, sniffling against his shoulder. He was so warm! And he comforting her, and concerned about her well-being. "N-Noooo..." she murmured, shaking her head against his shoulder. "I-I-I saw a k-kitty and i-I followed him, and an-nd got lo-lost..."

"Stop that," Puck scolded him as they headed to the hunt (after dropping Omelette off again). It took them about fourty-five minutes to drive to the right place, and when they got there, the place... well, it looked haunted as hell!

Had his arms not been busy holding the frightened girl, he definitely would've facepalmed. With both hands. While he hadn't expected her to say she'd been following a cat, he definitely thought that he should've. Typical, naive, childish little Olive; the girl just didn't seem to think before she acted. "Seriously...?" He pulled out of the hug, expression both worried and confused. "You didn't even bring your coat, and the sun's coming up..." Shaking his head and sighing, he told her to wait there while he ran back to get her coat. Picking it up, he also grabbed his car keys and drove most of the way there so she'd be able to protect herself even further from the sun. All in all, it had only taken him about ten minutes. "You had me worried, you know. I thought something happened to you. Like, y'know, death."

He paused outside the creepy house they pulled up to. It was pretty stereotypical haunted house-esque, so he was beginning to wonder if perhaps her prank theory may've been correct - it was an ideal locale to try such a trick like that.
